I've played with both phones.... Yes the cameras are comparable, and the HDR+ on the Pixel 2 is far superior to the one found in iPhone X. But there is no competition for the front facing cam. Pixel 2 produces consistent results across all lighting conditions. Its very ignorant to show just one portrait selfie and claim the iPhone did a better job.
iPhone X does NOT have a better selfie camera. Gosh the bias is so dumb.

I can't take this comparison seriously since every other comparison I have seen shows the pixel 2 to have the better selfie cam. For video yes overall Iphone X has better quality but slightly less stability
The apple bias is real with this chick, the iPhone X selfie cam blows HARD, please explain how, even with that picture of terrible selfie portrait condition, the iPhone is 'better'. Also since when is a super dark detail-less, grainy low light pic 'flattering'??
The Android bias is real with you. Both sides have their fanboys. You just happen to be an Android fanboy.
Darryl Mouzone yes, i dislike Apple, and you may dislike Android, but that should be irrelevant when judging pictures, this time in paper and facts the Pixel just happens to be better with pictures most of the time, there's way more detailed and thorough reviews by even the most ardent apple-based tech reviewers that agree that Pixel is better -picture wise for both cameras. The iphone x does have better video quality (less artifacts and better slowmo) but thats pretty much it.
megashadow1390 I don’t hate Android, I have an Android phone. It’s just not a Pixel. All of these videos will always have a bias towards whatever the person’s preference is, whether it’s Android or iOS.

I disagree on the conclusion of front portrait. It looks like desperate attempt to give some points to Apple. Good portrait will have sharp transition between subject and background. See how Apple does it on it's back camera! It's not able to replicate that effect on it's front camera and that's a flaw!

Are you joking? The first pic shows the iPhone is clearly better, the pixel has more the half of the image in focus... but that being said, I do admire what they have done with only one censor.
Pixel 2. Google has done a wonderful job rendering details in still photos.

Ruben Mendoza they released the beta 2 today I guess and the visual core has been activated.
Visual core 8.1 beta is a go, my friend.
My understanding is that it's not going to improve anything on photos taken using Pixel camera app. Its for apps like Instagram which have their own in-built camera app. They can use the Google's AI technology using this chip.
Srikanth Bhat the HDR+ shots are faster and more accurate. There is definitely a change.

The iPhone X does do a better job at video but the smoothness of the video on the Pixel 2 will probably sway some people. Still photos on the Pixel 2 are better and let's not forget that iOS 11 is so full of bugs that you need a can of Raid insect spray to go along with the iPhone X.
I'd rather have better image stabilization and a slight loss on video quality because smoother less jittery wins to me
I’ll take the iPhone X. This phone takes phenomenal images. I am blown away with the 4K 60fps too. Video looks like it is live when it plays back.

KingSam yes it was. The iPhone had a very nice, clean and professional look to it, while the pixel had a very poor quality photo that was artificially brightened and worse in color accuracy. It’s a night and day difference.

I will say the Google pixel because the photos have way more detail than the iPhone's. About video the iPhone in lowlight wins but I love the pixel's stabilisation..by the way I tried the iPhone's 4k at 60 fps but I think that it's has less detail comparing with the 4k at 30 fps

mi r έχω s8 με 550€ και είναι πολύ καλύτερο....κοίτα φίλε είχα 7 plus αλλά χειρότερη κάμερα απο s8 λιγότερο αδιάβροχο χωρίς γρήγορη φόρτιση χωρίς headphone jack(αυτό βασικά θα φύγει από όλα τα κινητά)Χωρίς ασύρματη φόρτιση(και το 8 που είχε είναι πολύ αργή)....Λοιπόν τώρα ας πούμε για το 8....ios 11 χειρότερο και από Android γρήγορη φόρτιση πρέπει να σκάσεις αλλα 50€ για φορτιστή κάμερα είναι όντως κατώτερη απο s8 ειδικά στο σκοτάδι και ακόμη ip67 που για τόσα χρήματα δεν έπρεπε....τέλος πάντων δεν προσπαθώ να κατηγορήσω γιατί είχα iPhone και ξέρω πως είναι τέρατα αλλά με το Android κατάλαβα ότι ένα κινητό μπορεί να κάνει πολλά περισσότερα + που το Android πλέον γίνεται όλο και καλύτερο

Such a tough one BUT for my eyes, I gravitated towards the iPhone X enough though I wouldn’t hesitate to use that Pixel 2! 😎😋
So it’s a mixed bag. Like video game characters’ stats bars. There isn’t really a clearly “better” character. They have pros and cons over each other. Choose which you like.
The problem with this comparison is that the iPhone is almost double in price . So I'm way more impressed with the pixel

Shah Baaz I noticed the pixel looks unnaturally sharp at the edges of the portrait. It looks weird and not slr like.
ryan gosling ever used a DSLR? Unless you are shooting very wide aperture, this is what a good 85mm lens will render. Edges only blur with extremely shadow dof. The BG would be a lot more blurred. Pixel 2 is much more realistic over iPhone.
Richard Servello I shoot with a prime 50mm lens. Have you seen the pixel selfie portrait ? It really does look unnatural if you look at it.
ryan gosling yes, I have it. I also shoot DSLR. I have a 50mm, a 58mm, and and 85mm that I enjoy shooting often. The pixel 2 is the closest to a real portrait lens. iPhone looks like a bad feathered cutout.
I like how she actually says things about the phones equally, not like other people that say pixels camera is better in these ways and the x is worse in these ways or the opposite. She aint care she is the best at comparing i would say as she equilizes the performance on the phones.

iPhone x better selfie camera? You must be joking. Pixel's selfie camera is miles ahead. While some people might prefer the warm colours of the iphone's camera a bit more, there is really no contest between them. Not to mention in poor lightning conditions. I do own both phones and the iphone has its advantages, but the selfie camera is definately not one of them!

Google Pixel 2 camera is slightly better, especially the night sight is great.
iPhone wins, better options for people that love photography and shooting in RAW is an option, editing after the fact is very do-able for the best result.

I have never in my life been so indecisive as to which phone to buy 🛍. Usually I tend to see how apple beat android and how android beat apple. But this time the pixel and apple are so close together that I'm just very confuse

Yeah no the pixel 2 selfie camera is way better, take 5 more pictures and you would have realized. The blur is usually much better too on the pixel front camera.

Real world use....pixel. Even if the iphone takes better video recording quality in lowlight I think stabilization is more important as people generally take videos in good lighting and don't have a stabilizer.

Every development makes better iOS apps and sometimes don’t even upload on the android.
iOS has iMessage and FaceTime.
In short, you can have the goods of iOS and Android both on the iPhone.
