This is timeless. That part about "Old lovers being good friends" just resonates. In my experience, it's better to not stay friends. Yes, be friendly with each other if paths cross and don't try to avoid one another. But don't go beyond a polite conversation at say a big gathering with mutual friends. Something that may seem innocuous such as lunch or a non-emergency phone conversation could complicate things and re-ignite that old flame. Sometimes it's best for both parties to keep one's distance so both can move forward.
This song might be almost as sappy as a hallmark movie, but musically speaking it’s SO GOOD. So thanks for playing it! Always been a favorite ballad of mine.
