The best thing about this movie - at the time - nobody spoiled it for others - it was like a huge national secret - with everyone telling their friends - *_"You've got to see the Sixth Sense."_*
Tell that to the one m*ron who told me the ending before I could see the movie. I cannot curse this person enough for spoiling me the greatest twist in cinema History. There's a special place in hell for that person I'm sure.
he never had a car, used public transport, always wore the same clothes from the day he died, it got cold for her because he was upset finding out he was actually dead the whole time,… this movie was brilliant every second of it
One super subtle hint? When Cole goes to open the bedroom door he asks Malcom not to go home, a Very wierd thing if he brought the boy, but right after he says it you see Cole open the door by the reflection in the doorknob and it's Just Cole. Malcolm is standing behind him but he's not reflected in the doorknob, because he's not there.
Probably THE finest Plot Twist in all cinema history - and it still works so well. It had tremendous box office receipts, thanks to people like me who went back a couple times while bringing numerous friends along just to see their reactions!
Lol my wierdly perceptive mate watched it at the cinema, when it came out. He said it was this boring romantic film about a dead guy. He was properly confused why everyone loved it.😂😂😂 He totally got that he was dead from the start. 😂😂😂😂 He was like, "its obvious he's dead because he never changed his cloths!" 😂😂😂😂 He had no idea it was ment to be a twist!! 😂😂😂😂 He was like, "it's a just a shit version of ghost!!"😂😂😂😂
I saw this in the theater and still remember the gasps at the ending. Such an amazing experience that everyone was so careful not to spoil it for everyone else. I’m glad the younger generation is appreciating it still!
Sounds much like when I got to see it - at the end (when those that hadn't seen it - and were used for 'reaction entertainment purposes' by their friends that HAD seen it) did the same and all gasped in amazement - but I was more floored that people had been careful not to spoil it! 👏👏 But yeah, sweet twist. Haha, yet now? People will fight to be the FIRST to post a 'Spoiler' - I'm sure they are well-rounded, friendly, happy, and thoughtful humans, they mean well 🤭🤣 p.s. your doggo is super cute! 🐾
It's delightful, all these years later, to see people react to this revelation for the first time. This movie was an EXPERIENCE. I'm glad to see it's still having an impact after nearly over 2 decades. :)
@ronrogers7743 I find their reactions to be staged. Like this movie is now 25 years old and they haven't heard or have been spoiled by the twist?? I find that slightly hard to believe but then again they are brown and have British accents.
Wrong. The Others was written years before The Sixth Sense was released, but The Others came out later because they didn't want it to produce it when they wanted
Without a doubt, one of the greatest twists in cinematic history. I remember when this movie came out and everybody going nuts at the reveal. I really do think that this set the bar very high for twist endings.
I worked at the theater when this came out. And I use to walk in the auditorium during this scene and hearing people say no way, or oh my God was great.
Honestly one thing I love about this film is the fact that it’s not only the huge twist but the fact that it’s such a tearjerker that make it such a wonderful film. Honestly beginning with the scene before this-where Cole is telling his mother his secret-I’m crying nonstop.
I remember clearly when I went to see this movie in the cinema and how shocked everyone was when this scene was on. Literally the whole theater gasped with confusion people looking at each other like “that’s not possible!” How could we miss this? I remember some people went to see it multiple times just trying to find a flaw in the story. This movie hit the audience big time!
This movie and Titanic were the only two movies that I ever watched in the theater 2 days in a row. That ending shocked me and my friend and we went back the next day to see how the hell we missed it. Brilliantly done by M. Night.
Cole knew he was dead ; that’s why he was running from Malcolm in the very beginning. But as Malcolm was one of the few “friendly” spirits Cole interacted with we didn’t see the fear Cole normally experienced with ghosts.
I love watching reactions to this movie and I saw every one of these reactions. I appreciate you putting them all together like this so I could enjoy the reactions again!
I remember seeing this in the theatre the weekend it came out, and you couldn’t tell anyone about the twist; all you could say was, “You have to go and see it!”
To be fair, 1999 was an INSANE year. Seriously, one of the all-time best years for movies. American Beauty, Fight Club, The Matrix, Magnolia, Being John Malkovich, Eyes Wide Shut, Girl Interrupted, The Green Mile, The Blair Witch Project, Toy Story 2, Office Space, The Mummy, Election, South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut, Galaxy Quest, Man on the Moon, The Iron Giant, The Talented Mr. Ripley, and more.
I think most people were shocked that Haley Joel Osment lost the Best Supporting Actor Oscar to Michael Cain for his performance in The Cider House Rules. Honestly, I don't think that film is all that well remembered, and certainly nothing like The Sixth Sense is today. Sometimes the Academy gets it wrong, it happened to the film Saving Private Ryan from 1997, which lost to Shakespeare in Love for Best Picture, it was a stunning and unforgettable loss that angered millions. It's not that I think Michael Cain is a bad actor, not at all, I just think he should have won his Oscar years before, and that Osment's performance should have won for The Sixth Sense. I still remember Cain's acceptance speech; he seemed very uncomfortable with his win.
It was fun watching my husband turning my kids onto this film as teenagers WITHOUT them knowing the twist. Watching them screaming was one of the funniest Dad moments ever.
I saw this in theaters right when it came out. I didnt know much about the movie. Ill never forget a packed crowd walking out most of us dead silent in disbelief. Just a masterful movie. When you rewatch and see how he never interacts with anyone but the kid but they shot it so well you didn't notice. Its cool to see these people who didnt know.
The first thing I noticed was the gaps between events. New scenes start 'in the middle' like he's just stepped into a moment that drew him and some end abruptly when he can no longer interact with the people there. And he isn't shown living the mundane parts of a life in between. A haunting from the ghost's pov.
He thought she was angry at him all this time when, in fact she was grieving for him. Realizing she never stopped loving him was some happiness amidst this sad realization.
One of my favorite movies. I was so shocked at the end too, I didn't see it coming. Willis is so great in this. It all makes sense at the end. It's brilliant bc you cry but you understand it all and don't feel manipulated. M. Night is brilliant.
A bunch of my favorite reactors reacting to a most famous scene and I don't think I ever watched any of them react to The Sixth Sense! Great compilation.
I love how this film begins with a scene of Bruce Willis's character being shot and bleeding out AND YET we all just assume he survived. Of course he didn't. We were straight-up shown his death.
This movie never gets old. Another one to watch with a great twist at the end is Frailty, with Matthew McConaughey and Bill Paxton. Dark supernatural thriller.
I used to have this movie. There is also an Easter egg in this movie. All the important parts in the movie or notable parts have red in it, like the door handle, her shawl, the napkin on the dining room table, her red dress on their anniversary dinner... etc.
One producer was like “Don’t include ‘I see people, they don’t know they’re dead’ scene, everyone will know right away” but Shyamalan wanted to keep it and the testing audience didn’t see the truth about Malcolm earlier. That’s why the movie is how it is.
The most amazing thing about this movie ...Whether it was watched at the theater or bought even years later. The ending was not admitted to people that had not yet seen it. Those that had didn't want to ruin it for others. This Could/Would Not be possible today. Excellent story and writing by M. Night Shyamalan.
Comedian Nate Bargatze has a great joke about this movie. He says it made perfect sense to millions of men that his wife would give him the silent treatment for a year.
I'm still amazed how Donnie Wahlberg (NKOTB) was the shooter, Vincent Gray. Donnie lost so much weight, literally starved himself to get that character perfect. I didnt even recognise him when I first watched it. This film still gets me to this day and even after watching it over and over theres vits you start to see that shows Malcom is dead. Like no shadow! Now im going to grab a coffee and watch the film again lol
The ring falling and him noticing it's not on his hand seems to be the moment for most people. For me the ring falling was when I first thought, "Hey wait a minute..."
The first time seeing the ending was like suddenly falling off a high building, going faster and faster, still trying to watch what was in front of your eyes but your mind racing backward doing the math. The brilliance of it was almost numbing.
Something you'll only notice HERE -- one of these reactors FIGURED OUT the twist from the very beginning, yet the ending still worked just as powerful. "He didn't know? This whole time? That's why this, that's why that.... still works as well. Very masterfully structured film.
Asia always have the best movie reactions. She can be so so when reacting to music, but she's always totally engaged and animated when watching movies. I love to see her watch horror movies or classic matinees style films. That's a film fan if there ever was one.
What a joy to see young people react the way these people are reacting which, it should be pointed out, is the way everybody reacted when we saw it the first time. It's nice to be connected to people 30 years apart. But to me, there's something much more important here. I don't know that somebody in their 30s has seen Bruce Willis in anything great unless they sat through the old Die Hard movies. For us to know what he's going through now personally is assuaged a little bit seeing new generations discover this movie and his acting and his appeal. It says that one of the most important and entertaining actors of my generation won't be forgotten or ignored or overlooked for decades to come.
I'm 38 and I grew up with Bruce Willis movies. He's my favourite actor, I've seen most things he's been in. Such an icon, one of the biggest, his movies changed cinema and world culture. So hard to see what he's going through now.
I dont know if there will ever be another twist that hits as hard as this one. Even watching it back now I can still feel the emotions I felt the 1st time I saw it. This movie is a masterpiece.
I love seeing the reactions after all these years! If you'll look closely, everything he couldn't really touch or do, is red. The napkin, the doorknob, the wife's dress, etc
Still amazes me how many people failed to see the twist but instead just accepted the fact that his Wife was just ignoring him the WHOLE MOVIE and just went with it 😂
This movie scared the hell out of me and I didn't really understand the concept of the movie other than the fact Cole could see ghosts (dead people) and the kitchen scene with the woman still haunts me in my dreams. But as I am older and watched it again, I fully understood the concept and the twist ending.
As a boy who grew up watching this film, whose grown into a man that wants to find that special lady in my life to fall in love with, I cry like a baby over this ending. Mostly thinking how unfair it all was for Malcom. It also didn’t help that Bruce Willis was always my favorite actor growing up.
Nate Bargatze has a great joke about this. He was talking about the silent treatment and how when we first watched this it made total sense about how she was treating him.
The ending is surprising! How he says he has a couple things left to do; first, he needed to help someone - which he did, and second he needed to tell his wife she was never second, even though this is the second thing he does, not the first, so his action says she's second but his words say she's not.
The Sixth Sense os one of the most intelligently made films, and not just for the twist ending. It was emotional and the performances by the entire cast were nothing short of perfect. It's a rare gem of a movie, and it's this kind of film that I hope M. Night Shyamalan can create again, a film that pulls you in all directions, making you believe one thing while plainly showing you the clues right in front of your face. Signs did a very good job of this, and in my opinion even The Village, while not well received, had a story and a twist that I thought was pretty well done. The music of James Newton Howard really helps as well. The Sixth Sense is an incredible film.
This is one of Willis' best roles. Really broke him out of that silly character he always played. Shyamalan is honestly brilliant, this movie shook me like no other
My brother and I figured out the "twist" about halfway thru the movie. Spoilers werent really a thing back then. We aren't geniuses, but the story was way too familiar to a Are You Afraid of the Dark episode Tale of the Dream Girl. So after a few scenes of nobody noticing Bruce Willis, was enough to figure it out. Great movie, tho😊
I remember seeing this for the first time and just 😮😮😮😮😮. And I gotta say -- this is one of the best twists in cinematic history and 1000% better than... You know... Like... The Village.

I'm subscribed to all these reactors, and it great to see how each of them took this scene.
Now do the same with The Others. 😊

This film was one of the most rewatched in the cinema ever. People needed to see it again and how he didn't interact with anyone.
he never had a car, used public transport, always wore the same clothes from the day he died, it got cold for her because he was upset finding out he was actually dead the whole time,… this movie was brilliant every second of it
All the objects he interact with turn red

The scene with Cole and his mom in the car totally broke me. ❤❤❤
She got mad about the Bumblebee pendant and then he said "every day"...
Same. As someone with mommy issues.
That scene makes me cry "do I make her proud?"

When Bruce Willis passes away, everyone is going to go back and watch this movie and will be even more devastated than the original reveal.

@brandonlee93 Frailty is great
@Moody_82 yes! Both The Others and Frailty were excellent.
That one was awesome

One of the best original screenplays of all time. I picked up he was dead pretty early, but it was still entertaining to see how it all played out.
I watched with a mate on DVD, it was the restaurant scene that gave it for me, I suddenly realised he'd not spoken to anyone else.

Rob Squad wins. The mind explosion really comes through for them
Still amazes me how many people failed to see the twist but instead just accepted the fact that his Wife was just ignoring him the WHOLE MOVIE and just went with it 😂
She literally ghosted him ;)
Awww. Someone give Dasha a cuddle :( x
This movie scared the hell out of me and I didn't really understand the concept of the movie other than the fact Cole could see ghosts (dead people) and the kitchen scene with the woman still haunts me in my dreams. But as I am older and watched it again, I fully understood the concept and the twist ending.
All my favorite reactors in one video! I love watching these guys
Appreciate the compilation.❤
Such an amazingly good show. I first saw it at 13. Still love it.
I usually figure out movies like this but missed this one completely
Wife figured it out half way through
As a boy who grew up watching this film, whose grown into a man that wants to find that special lady in my life to fall in love with, I cry like a baby over this ending. Mostly thinking how unfair it all was for Malcom. It also didn’t help that Bruce Willis was always my favorite actor growing up.
That was the best plot twist in a movie I have seen in ages. Love Shyamalan's work.
New sub here and I definitely bought you a coffee. Keep up the good work and thank you. ❤❤
Awesome! Thank you!
"You were never second; except for all the times you were."
All these reactions are awesome but I absolutely love the media knights channel lol they are so funny and their reactions are so authentic.
Thanks for the video. I enjoyed it.
Good Job...😊😊 keep them coming. Last Samurai would be a good one.
Some of the greatest plot twists in cinema history: The Sixth Sense, The Usual Suspects, The Others, and Jawbreaker.
Everyone in the theatre screamed or gasped when these scenes aired at tge end of the movie. Ultra shock ending
M Night Syamalan the twist master
I never got it until the end too. Crazy Good
