First of all, congratulations on becoming a Twitch partner, well earned and much deserved! I find Ares fun and strong. I might pick him up at the end of the week when I’ll have 4 keys, after hearing what the pros will have to say. I don’t see him as a must-buy just yet but the deck he’s in getting upgrades might nudge me towards getting him.
Ares seems strong in a deck that can ensure he gets to 12, though I’m worried “big 4 drops with a downside” are getting power crept from 10 power to 12. He’s probably going to be the best option in any deck that wants the “big 4s”
I'm loving Ares! He is an auto-include for Surtur decks, but also starts to give us more options to build with.
He helps grow this archetype, plus he's a card that will greatly benefit from the inevitable power-creep in card games. He's only going to get better!
Ares seems to be meeting my expectations - good in decks with lots of big cards, but not overpowered.
Grats again on making Twitch partner. It was great to see your stream yesterday. IMO Ares is ok at best. I am having buyers remorse ATM as he cost me 4 keys. I should have followed my personal rule of skipping cards that have a RNG element to them (like Bruce Banner) Other than some cute stuff Grandmastering Ares he doesn’t seem like a fun card.

Cool to see magik come in to the Bullseye deck, I had it and Frigga in my double Daken deck before Bullseye came out. Really excited to try including moongirl.
Ares felt strong against move bounce in the single game I saw him (of course they got a Nico duplicate)
I actually wonder if Miek instead of Scorn is optimal for the Huskies list. Miek gets pretty huge in these lists and a Scorn in hand can occasionally prevent you from discarding your Swarm and popping off on the last turn. I may be completely off base as I've never played the the Magik list, but in theory it feels like Scorn should be the 12th card we cut to bring in Magik imo.
As on the last video commented, I did pull for Ares, he feels really good in Surtur and is an enhancement to this deck, I am really happy as I love to play those big boy cards with some tech in Cosmo & Armor

I was the same way with Slay the Spire, got ascension 20 on on Watcher then didn't play anymore. Played Balatro to completionist++, a 0.3% achievement on Steam.

Ares seems really good and his animation is fantastic. I too have been playing balatro recently it's so damn good.
I've been playing that Bullseye list with Miek, Moonstone and Victoria Hand instead of Scorn, Frigga and Colleen (I don't have those cards on my f2p account) and it's been killing it. Moon Girl + Moonstone more than make up for Frigga if you don't have her
Today was my lucky day! I cashed in first 2 Spotlight Keys and pulled Misery and Ares, both cards I needed.
I have only seen Ares one time so far, but to their credit, they got me with it. I was using a Hela deck, so plenty of high scoring cards. But he smartly on Turn 6 of all things, Hit me with Enchantress to eliminate my Morphius, and then slammed Ares down in another lane to steal that one and got to 4/12 after the game of war.
Feel like it is super vulnerable to Shang Chi, but it looks fun at least.
I've enjoyed Ares, played the Surtur with Quicksilver brew posted yesterday and it served me pretty well.
I think Ares is good just not very exciting, a sometimes 4/12 which is incredible stats but because of the "sometimes" of it all kind of just sits in the quite crowded space of buff 4's.
Going to try a swap of Iron Patriot out for Grandmaster in that list. I don't think it will be as good, but retriggering Ares will be bonkers and hitting Zabu again in the right circumstance will be good too.
Just got another Infinity Border with HuskyPuppies' deck. I beat Standard Discard, Ongoing, Mr Negative, and Doom 2099 (I can't remember the 5th deck).
The only challenging matchup was Mr Negative because their numbers are about the same as ours.
I've met Ares only once in Infinity. I didn't plan on taking the card (especially since I don't have Surtur), but as you pointed, a lot of future cards may be synergize well with him, so...

The dealbreaker will be if Ares manages to make the already tier 1 mill deck better, if so he is probably a buy. If he is only a skaar/surtur synergy then nah.
I don’t have Surtur or Sakaar so Ares was never in consideration for me but given what I’ve seen I don’t think I’m missing much
The issue is until Surtur has more ways to protect 2 lanes it will always be countered by Shang! And shadow king can be harsh as well

Scorn feels like a card inevitable for a series drop but I want it so bad for being a discard staple.
Congratulations on becoming Twitch Partner. This is amazing. Regarding Ares I don't know. He kinda looks boring from the gameplay's that I have seen. But I will wait a bit more and see what the por's have to say. It might change my mind.

Ares is a strong card that is very reliable in suitable decks.
Ares feels pretty good so far in surtur, looking forward to messing around with him in a mill list when Zemo cycles back around. Not a super strong or must buy by any means though.
Ares seems better than I initially thought and people have found creative ways to ensure he gets the +6. Although he is still just slightly unreliable stats imo.

Ares is solid, not Meta but solid. I like him in Mill too. Playing him late is a back breaker to your opponent. The War Death is excellent btw. Another reason to pull Ares.
I still don't actually have Black Knight yet. Worth picking up?

I was doing the same thing with balatro where i do the same stake on every deck before advancing but after running blue stake black deck i decided id stop 😭
This season feels super hard to climb for some reason, still trying to grind to infinite.
In a couple games I ran into Ares he was a good tempo play. Nice shang/shadow king bait that puts pressure on a lane. Just not sure how good Surtur decks are in general and I don`t think that other decks want him (not sure he makes mill ideal list). For me looks like a key saving week.

I'm loving Ares but mainly because he works in Mill (the reason I got him). My attempt below:
Hood, Yondu, Fenris, Iron Patriot, Killmonger, Frigga, Zemo, Gladiator, Shang, Ares, Misery, Death. I think I should make room for Zabu though
Right now Ares is alright in my opinion, I don't use ares since he isn't in the styles of deck I'd play but people I fight with him seem to be 50/50 on how useful he is to them

Ares is good, maybe even underrated, almost always 4/12 with no downside! You can't go wrong with power
I think ares is useless outside hela and surtur. Even tempo decks can't use him that well because the biggest lowest card is gladiator and your other big plays like sage are 0 in deck. So not drawing glad and max before turn 4 but having ares is not reliable. So just okay.

Ares overall looks like a great addition to surtur decks but it also looks like it could be good in mill if you r taking and destroying all their cards.

Ares seems strong in surtur decks, but I am not yet convinced it is strong in other decks.
I feel like ares is a strong above rate card when he goes off and also has no punishment for his ability failing like gladiator so i can see him being a generically good 4 drop in the future similar to galacta but going tall in his own lane instead of others.
Area has elevated the surtur deck and is a consistent 4/12.

I've honestly not been impressed with Ares, but I don't have him and haven't really seen too much of him.
Have seen Ares twice or three times so far, only once beat it on its ability, i think it´s a good card, maybe when new cards it gets even better, I personally don`t like it so much cause there was already an archetype with those *10 monsters, this is just another one
