My name is Bonnie, I'm a 26 years old and a single mom. I have 5 year old twins Hannah & Hailey who were born very premature (micro preemies). Because of that my daughters have alot of healthy problems, one more then the other. My channel is a way for me to share MY experience on my family's journey dealing with medical problems and the typical family stuff. My daughter Hannah just got her tracheostomy out after over 3 years so we are readjusting to life again. I am also on a weight loss journey, down 42lbs.

A little about us
Mom; I'm a hairdresser and work part time while taking care of my girls on my own. I'm on a weightloss journey [ not a diet], i'm trying to break my unhealthy habits. So far I have lost 42lbs in total.
Hannah, the older one believe it or not. Has a TON of medical problems all due to being premature. She spent the first 507 days in the hospital ( a year and a half STRAIGHT). She recently just got her tracheostomy out after having it for 3 year 3 months and 8 days

→ Pulmonary hypertention XOVERCOME
→ Short Gut

→ Oral aversion [Doesn't like things in her mouth]

→ BPD [lung condition]

That is awesome that you are going to own your own home soon. And, who cares that you are going to live in a Habitat Home, if people want to look down on you for that you don't need them in your life!

When you started off your video you mentioned not wanting people to know you lived in a habitat house, then you said they will find out anyway and you didn't care. She was only reassuring you that you shouldn't worry about what ppl think
My mom is deputy director of Habitat for the county we live in. They are building their 100th house this year! For your mortgage they add up all the costs of building your house and that is what you owe. When you pay your mortgage every month you are paying it directly to Habitat so it cuts out all the extras. It truly is an amazing program.

Do you get any say so on the style of your home because if I apply for habitat I would like to have I guess control of how my house looks inside and out since it’s the house that I will live in forever.
Do you build your own house and if you do do you get to pick all your appliances and interior design?

I'm assuming they know that a smoker for a neighbor would not be a good fit ? We lived in a townhouse that was connected and had to move because of that :(
Everyone has debt in some way. Also they don't use debt to determine who goes forward

I have been waiting a year since the one on one, and I am still waiting to hear something. been on my job over a year as required and my credit is in the 7s. Not sure if I want to continue waiting it out.

Beggars cant be choosers. It is a duplex but it seems like they perfer to make little subdivisions instead of single houses so 1 they can give more people a home and 2 so that starts forces them to take care of it

How long does the process take
how long after you filled out the application did you get notified you might be approved? Sorry for all the questions, I applied and although I don't have alot of hope because of my credit..........i'm still praying.
I honestly think it took a year. It took so long that by the time they got a hold of me I had to give them the next tax seasons info.
They only go through applications I think when they have something planned because it takes years. And they might have 1 applicant who gets approved and does the hours and then they just wait for someone who's in a habitat house to move out. Every community it a bit diffrent. Depends how active they are where you live
Yep! There are several properties in my area that they have started on
They usually have the families picked out long before the project starts. You could be in a pile if someone backs out. But they are pretty big on not liking debt. So depending how bad that is
I sent my application a few weeks ago and got a letter saying they are just reviewing everything and running credit check and such. I do have debt (car) but the only bad things on my credit is medical debt. Maybe I’ll get lucky. Everything else I’m up to date with
