- Here's a mockup of an excerpt from "Buckbeak's Flight" (written by John Williams for the third Harry Potter movie), using Spitfire Audio's new flagship string library "Abbey Road Orchestra - First Violins".

I did not apply any processing to the library with the exception of a bit of external reverb (Seventh Heaven Professional).

- Tom Holkenborg's Brass

Thanks for the demo. Since I buyed ARO 1st Violins (and Cellos) I'm in love with my old Spitfire Symphonic Strings again. Compared the ARO strings sound more synthy / undefined to my ears. Matter of taste, of course. Had the same experience with Cinematic Strings few years ago. Spitfire Symphonic Strings are underestimated.
the mockup sounds amazing and natural, only I think in some parts the string library needs more vibrato (But this is more a detail from Spitfire)
This sounds a lot cleaner than the first video 2 days ago. I feel like the legatos are at their strongest when you're really high up. Funnily enough the opposite of BBCSO Pro.
Beautiful mockup! May I ask where massive x and pharlight are used?
Thank you! Massive X plays a low and rather quiet ostinato from 0:21 to 0:30 (it sounds a bit similar to a very low marimba) and Pharlight is used for some synth voices as part of the background harmony from 1:04 to 1:13.
