Starbucks's so expensive
Yeah ikr like idk maybe try lowering prices silly goofy butts
Yeah seriously. My neighborhood has like 3-4 local coffee shops that roast their own high-quality beans and taste much better than starbucks. And their prices are similar or cheaper. No reason to go to starbucks
Maybe the top brass executives should take a pay cut, bc what are they really doing? Are they making the drinks for us?
Lies again? Somerset Orchard USD SGD
So is cigarettes, wine, energy drinks, fancy beers. It’s not just Starbucks
The boycotts are working
Yay! Driving other Americans out of jobs...you should be proud.
@@spankyssurprise1361yea because we should be enabling companies by paying higher and higher prices 🤡
@@spankyssurprise1361 #FreePalestine
@@spankyssurprise1361 you should thank your gov for being a world pirate, the world has been fed up having a "country" leader for being so jackazz that's why US have high inflation bcs people dumping the dollar, i say congrats.
@@spankyssurprise1361 Not really. Starbucks is a franchise system, for every store they have opened, they have impacted the income of independant and family run business that used to serve coffee and breakfast. Starbucks has destroyed more jobs than it has ever created. Working in a fast food chain isnt exactly an aspiring career.
Starbucks lost its way, quality is no longer there. The Americano is bland, even Krispy Kreme coffee tastes better. They have focused too much on quantity.
Wanting a US company to succeed in a country that you want to contain? 🙄
That's the sea pirate's attitude.
Starbucks is a National Security risk to China
What do you mean? A lot of American companies are very successful in China.
@@XHGA of course because China doesn’t play the sanction game
@@billinsf88 Yeah, if they did, Tesla would go bankrupt immediately.
Malaysia and many Muslim countries already boycott McDonald's, Starbucks and many others American brands.
No mention of boycotts as usual. Keep ignoring us, but we will win!
Starbucks tastes terrible for what it is
Can’t drink their coffee without way too much sugar in it
Starbucks don't sell coffee.
Ah yes, enslaved diabetes.
Here’s a tip. It’s al going down for Starbucks in China.
I don’t buy Starbucks ever since the rise of Boba tea.
it completely different beverage
Nobody is forcing you to get boba, just get whatever you like smh.
People in USA and western countries are living paycheques to paycheques so they can’t afford coffee. People in China have money to spend
CHinese coffe chain Luckin Coffee and especially Manner are superior to Starbucks and affordable, too!
Weird that WSJ ignored the boycott entirely. I miss the days of decent journalism.
Thank you Palestine for exposing this- I was sick of this brand
Seriously why people drink Starbucks coffee. It is just a convenient spot to meet.
Overpriced garbage. I’d never step into Starbucks here in India. Everything is too sugary or mediocre.
starbucks is meh, especially since i dont drink coffee lol
then how are you even commenting if you don't drink coffee tf how does that even make sense
Too expensive and it does not taste good any more.
I stopped going to Starbucks when they downsized their breakfast sandwiches and still charged the same.
🍉
I am from Cambodia, but I rarely go to Starbuck because it is too generic and overpriced. I prefer going to local store, feel the authenticity, uniqueness, supporting local community and business, and paying reasonable price.
Here in Malaysia, we boycott Starbucks for being overrated and support a local coffee chain Zeus Coffee
The result of supporting 🇮🇱
Agree
The result of underpaying workers and being associated with Western liberals/SJWs.
Grocery, gas, rent, property taxes, water, and clothing prices are too high. No money for Starbucks.
Don't forget to mention us as moslem all over the world no longer support Starbuck 🚫
WELL THERE NO SEATS AT STARBUCKS! I SAW HOMELESS MAN JUST OUTSIDE WITH HIS OWN CHAIR.
That Boomers think Starbucks is a social spot worth $5 a cup shows how much is wrong with American culture.
Personally, I gave up my caffeine addiction 6 years ago. Saved money and my health has improved.
Let’s all ignore the fact that there is a boycotting movement, which doesn’t have anything to do with the losses😂
Literally!
lots of western investor simply don't get is that people in china drink tea. Sure, for those who born after 1990' perhaps there is cultural hype build up around coffee. But one thing is that in China, if one drink too much coffee, one simply feels "上火" this term just doesn't exist in english.
Coffee will never be truly successful in china, thousands of years of history has approved it. While turks and europeans were drinking coffee, Chinese was drinking tea. Such a simple cultural factor, Wall Street seems never get it.
Bought into Luckin Coffee stock during their scandal so up over 1000%. If/when Luckin Coffee shares gets relisted onto a major exchange their share price will likely surge.
If it’s not working in the US then it is not going to work anywhere.
The quality has gone down and it’s not coffee anymore just a bunch of sugary drinks
Starbucks feels cheap with premium prices now
People complain about $5.00 a gallon gas (Southern California) but not worry about $5 cup of joe
Gouging customers is a dumb strategy.
I'll gve them a free billion dollar idea: introduce specialty, seasonally rotating bubble tea flavors worldwide. You're welcome!
When boycotts get you at willow pockets 😂
Never pay $11.92 for a great drink when you can hydrate with water and regular coffee for a $1 and taste pretty good - it’s a luxury not required like Coca Cola $4 , 2 liter coke - who needs the sugar which produces diabetes - drink water let them eat their coke
You can’t compete with Luckin Coffee in China.
Didnt luckin go out of business lol.
@@davidcantor293 u living under a rock?
Chinese : 100% tax for Starbuck‘s
Same as EV import from china. 😂😂😂
Be nice if they cared about the coffee....
Innovation is dead…. N full of sugar
you are neglecting to mention the war in Gaza in this equation. Americans didn't want to stop spending money all of the sudden, its the largest market in the world with a faster gdp growth than China this year. For this to be reliable reporting you need to mention WHY certain market shifts are happening.
🤯🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
It’s too expensive
Definitely not, already losing momentum in China. It’s not the price, it’s the taste.
Yeah because China needs a place for foreigners to go so they can listen in on coffee talk
Yup they can listen to all the Americans talk about how good their politics are
Coffee is getting expensive. I treat myself with Starbucks only during 50%off.
starbuck in china is not only about taste and price. there is nationality get involve in it, since the US is more and more politicize and discriminate chinese.
I just have a coffee of the month subscription with Trade Coffee, make my own drip coffee and add one of my fav creamers: ID Hersheys, or Coffee Mate Snickers, and make my own delicious coffee. I just don’t get the appeal of going to Starbucks unless you’re meeting someone there for a date or something lol
WSJ, you should make a sequel news report: "Can India solve Starbucks sales problem?"
Starbucks tastes like sewage water in china, and there r lots of new and good tasting coffee like manner with much reasonable price
In China it costs just as much as in the us but idk why people like it. It’s not that the drinks are even good. I think it’s just to be cool and relevant cus it’s western
Some people think starbucks only sells coffee haha
The company that real coffee consumers built.
I've been all over China and the answer is no, lol. There simply aren't anywhere near as much coffee drinkers and for those that do there are better options than Starbucks
Word?
How about stop growing and fixing existing things to be better? Why always want more stores? That's just stupid.
Yay
Boycotts work… that is all
Why Starbucks is not a threat to China's national security? LOL
Starbucks in expanding in India too like anything. Even in tier 3 cities, example Jammu. Starbucks is coming up .
I also don't drink SB anymore. Bland and expensive coffee.
Ban Starbucks
No
Insightful analysis! ☕ Starbucks' focus on China for future growth is strategic, but navigating competition from Luckin Coffee requires agility and innovation. Adapting to changing market dynamics will be crucial for Starbucks to maintain its position as a global coffee leader.
Starbucks coffee tastes horrible, super bland. I’m not surprised.
There are a lot of good alternatives in China. Luckin Coffee is better than Starbucks and cheaper than Starbucks.
Starbucks is a National Security risk to China
to be fair Luckin Coffee doesn't taste better but far more cheaper. IMO All the other alternatives worth a try!
one luckin coffee only 9.9 RMB (1.4$)
one Starbucks coffee 36 RMB (5$)
Starbucks don't sell coffee.
The only thing good from Starbucks is the Pike Place Roast Black Coffee, but that's it
lol bubble tea stores have taken over seriously losing money but many brands and I hear great products it’s the new competition
Jusr go support your local coffee.
good. fake coffee
Starbucks in China has no momentum at all!🤣🤣🤣
Biden: tariffs on Chinese coffee
Their drinks are diabetes in the making.
Been to Luckin many times in China. It’s cheaper and its menu
is constantly changing. Many Chinese don’t like the taste of coffee so they’ve introduced new items like coconut latte and tea coffee. I never go to Starbucks in China.
USA coffee tariff 500%😅
Doesn't matter, like life it will still exist no matter what propaganda
It’s so easy to make this type of analysis after the stock fell. LOL
Dumping Starbucks shares dude
Chinese love trendy label stuff.
100% tariff on Starbucks due to US dumping coffee around the world causing overcapacity or National Security reasons. CHINA Please do it !!!
🤡
What is this guy talking about? didn't the industry always like to label growth vs value. So if starbucks aren't a growth stocks, is a value stock then. Ha!
🤣🤣🤣 ✌️✌️✌️ 🥸🥸🥸
Overpriced。
Trade war won't hurt US company
Biden 😂
China has Luckin
No one goes to Starbucks in Malaysia.
Boycott and China not a Rich county their custom more to drink Chinese tea cheaper and haeatheir

Starbucks is considered by many as your GenX Daddy's Coffee shop. Todays fashion sneaker influencer crowd like expensive bougie java boutiques where they spend much more for their lattes when the vibes are hittin. American youth has moved on to micro lux coffee houses that reflect neighborhood culture more authentically than a corporate chain on the stock ticker ever could and that's a good thing. Howard Shultz in effect accomplished what he set out to do initially as described in his autobiography, Pour Your Heart Into It...1. improve the level of coffee in America and 2. ignite coffee house culture. Starbucks was a hip place of the 80s-90s, But the post 2000's era, its about local, independent, non-corporate, fair trade organic espresso rockstar shops on Instagram. Starbucks has no single competitor in its size thats coffee focuses, but death by 10,000 cuts is slowing down the coffee Goliath. Today there are over 50,000 indi coffee houses in the US today and we owe that to Starbucks. Thanks Howard!
Actually, no. We still want affordable coffee.
@@saaunique just curious, how much do you pay and what kind of coffee.
Starbucks is losing because of the their support for Israel, should serve as a lesson.
Lol, hardly.
@20alphabet used to spend 20 bucks daily on Starbucks. Have boycotted them for their support of war crimes. I can't be the only one.
So US companies can make profit inside China while China companies cannot do the same inside US? Not just US but in other US allied Countries?
I do love US version of Capitalism and Free Market. 😁🤭😅🤫
Starbucks is over
luckin coffee reports fake numbers
I don't like Starbucks they don't have decaf
Yea they do lol
