The fact that other Kpop Antis are rejoicing had me chuckling. As if this will not affect their faves. They should be outraged like we are. BB don’t even hide their racism anymore.
This is exactly what my...well, second... reaction was: if this makes it impossible for *BTS* to chart high, how the hell on this Earth is any other K-pop group or foreign act gonna have a prayer at it? ONLY BTS has the fanbase big enough to push one (or all) of their guys to #1 despite lack of radio play, purely on sales and streams. And now we don't have that- and neither does any other K-pop group or fandom. Either the K-labels are going to have to start shelling out enormously to bribe the US radio stations, or they're going to have to sell themselves to a US label and accomplish it that way. And with BTS on hiatus and the whole K-pop thing losing momentum (look at SM, selling out their artists and content to a Chinese-controlled company, Kakao!), the chance of even bribing their way onto US radio with English songs is decreasing.
They're so short-sighted. They are conviced that if BTS gets taken down, it will leave room for their idols to take their place because they think it's BTS that's keeping the spotlight off their faves. It doesn't occur to them to think about why this is happening to BTS and how the answer to that question will apply to others. They never take the time to think critically. They're too busy focusing on being bitter and pissed off that BTS is "taking" what they think their faves are owed. It's why so many of them were excited for the enlistment and "hiatus"...until they realized how much stuff BTS were preparing before-hand and then the hate rose even more. Things have gotten so much nastier.
Those kids think if bts goes away their nugus are gonna get famous. And those fandoms are acting way too brave for no reason at all. Like all these grps are doing is breaking the record bts set back in 2017 and btches think those noise grps are anywhere near bts. They are pissing me off way too much. Kekekeing all over twt and pannchoa like sthu smh y'all can't even get top 50 without massive spotify deals.
No awards unless you mean one they can’t be awarded in that seems a little self congratulatory. But if they created an award that was only focused on transparency and the best artist and music I’d like that. As for an app for distribution that would be the best way or only use bandcamp and army only buy on Fridays so 100% goes to bts.
They are already doing it. Did you see news that HYBE will hold biggest concert? What if they invite not only kpop artists but also those from agencies they already own? It means Justin B. Ariana G and sooooo many more. They OWN those agencies. It means our boys get money indirectly from their artists. So. Don't be lazy Justin and others. We need our team rich lol Next will be Wevers festival, rank, some social award and soon we will be having big annual Gala in Seul with HYBE awards. It's comming. Grammy and Billboard - they just buying time before they die.
I've been thinking that on and off since YT started misbehaving with their views. Weverse could be expanded into a viewing-streaming platform entirely independent of all the others. Especially now that they've got SM's 'Bubble' media platform to play with. Awards, mmmaybe not so much. That's a little too...smug, awarding yourself your own trophies. But while they're at it, they could take back their ticketing from bleeping Tickemaster...
@@juliamars6573 I can totally see that happening! In the past 2-3 years there has been more and more western artists promoting in sKorea, going on TV shows, visiting other labels, doing fan meeting events (as opposed to just doing a concert and meet and greet)... Many song writers, stage directors and choreographers have moved their focus that way as well, meaning more Western artists will be turning their heads in that direction. Hybe making their own streaming service or awards is not far off 👀 I just hope they keep championing for artists and their rights as big hit initially intended, but I naturally feel weary of any big company that has big money to lose
So basically, Billboard found and "fixed" the one thing that would take away the spot from Jimin. Are there any music companies here that are not corrupt? I feel like I'm watching a movie where the villains come out winning. The Scammys and now Billboard. There is no way I would take them seriously after this. They're just picking whoever they want. Billboard is a complete joke.
I want BTS to get on charts so that more people get curious and find out about them. The industry isn't just suppressing the artist. It's keeping non-ARMY from discovering a positive and supportive community.
Very true the same reason why the positive pro black rap of the 90s didn’t make it to the 2000s. That kind of positivity and community building cant be ravaged unlike the state we are currently in.

What sucks is that Army IS that one fandom that knows how to break the system but I feel like we cant do it alone without drasitc cost to BTS themselves. There were media that literally instead of posting about Jimin breaking history they posted "lets see about next week" like they knew this mess would happen. Other fandoms are so caught up with the surface level wars that mean nothing outside of an online space. Most notable fandoms are too busy trying to one up each other instead of doing what's best for the artist they support. The only fandom I could think would be able to do something at the level of Army is Taylor Swifts fans but that fandom has so much privilege that they don't seem to recognize. Gosh, I never cared much about the innerworkings of different music industry markets across the world before BTS, it comes with being an Army. My thoughts are all over the place.
This is why I like covering music globally. I see a international market forming that cannot be controlled by the capitalistic system from the American industry. Well I hope it is not governed by that system when it fully committed to fruition.
I hope you’re right that the international market will eventually hold sway.Currently the US market has a chokehold on telling music listeners/consumers what is worth hearing. Unfortunately, too many western listeners are also sheeple who are not willing to question the status quo.
@@Jurnalist_ facts!! The world doesn't revolve about USA. This need for USA market validation only happens because it's still a tradition to start promoting in that market and a door to other markets... But this BB sh... it's gang policy in my opinion and it should be illegal.
Oh, he was definitely shoved off the billboard chart, and this pisses me off. I was actually checking the billboard 100 often to see where Jimin would fall for this week. The billboards do an early prediction deal to see where an artist may land for the following week. Around Wed of last week, they had predicted Jimin to be at #6 for this week, w/ 130k sales. I couldn't stop shouting. Imagine my surprise that by the end of last week, he wasn't even showing in the top 20. I couldn't believe the disrespect. I couldn't rap my mind around what happened with the sales, and I don't understand the low number for streaming either. Heck, I'm sure I streamed Like Crazy 3k by myself. Clearly, there's no issue with his sales or streaming as Jimin is excelling on all the other billboard charts . If I were Jimin, I'd wear the hate like a badge of honor. That's how u know your stuff is great. If u don't have at least 5 haters a day, u ain't living right. HES SO DOPE Thanks for the review
No problem at all. Its hard to wear these badges because they cover wounds that ache imo. You are right you do well haters appear but its long and hard to deal with mentally. Its defeating as an artist. We work to put out our expression only for some corporate entity to manipulate it take me down.
billboard basically said(??) that jimin has 14k sales even though every prediction account & HitsDD reported at least 115k sales. Allegedly, billboard changed one(?) of their rules AFTER the (for jimin 2nd) tracking week has already ended. They did not explain what they changed but we think that they changed the 1 sale (d2c stores!) per email per week rule to a 1 sale per email per lifetime rule without giving a prior notice. Some ppl are speculating that they did not count the d2c sales at all because the sales from the other platforms (itunes, amazon, etc) all add up to about 14k. In addition, it's very suspicious that they didn't really reveal much about the sales this week even though they usually give us more details. It's also suspicious that they (billboard) haven't published any shady articles towards jimin even though they would definitely do that (and have even done that when interviewing them for a special(?) edition + more instances 🤡). A lot of ppl think that they didn't do it this time because they would have to reveal more about the sales. I would like to mention that the hot100 (at least the top 10) looked basically the same compared to last week but without jimin (meaning that he was the only one affected by this rule).
This is why Nicki was mad at Travis Scott and his management messing with her number one when he was bundling his sales. Billboard did nothing when T.Swift, Travis and them were clearly being corrupt but when it’s Jimin things change.
Nicki, Travis, khaled, and Tyler are all to blame for the removal of bundles being counted t swift was the nail in the coffin. Bts poured the dirt on the casket and it was a thing of the past.
I think you perfectly stated why ARMYs care so much, which a lot of locals don’t understand. We spent (invested) time getting to know BTS as people, so now it’s important to us when we see something unfair. Also, as a side note, as someone who goes to the roller rink twice a week and listens to my own music while skating, “Like Crazy” is a fantastic roller rink song; it matches the vibes perfectly.
We usually don’t get radio play because Hybe doesn’t use payola (as it should be). Army’s should just start their own radio station and call it 6.13 FM👏🏼😅
the thing with these platforms is that they all do the same thing, for example: - spotify high filtering rate if you don't pay. - youtube freezing and deleting your views if you don't pay and yes we can see this because if we look at the graphs from bts and another artist that has for example an ad on youtube their views don't freeze and deleted and you see a steady line but with bts it's like a staircase going up and down. Like crazy after a few days, still got mil. deleted. so if we really stop listening to the platforms that do these kind of things to artists (not only bts) than no platforms are going to be left over😓
That’s the point I’m making. They either have to change to be transparent and ethical or they collapse which creates a vacuum that must be filled and by now a business that knows in this space their are standards that need to be met or you will not be viable.
Our strategy has always been, and will continue to be, to make them so big they can’t be ignored. We won’t walk away. We will fight fire with fire. We’ll be so big that they won’t be able to drown our voice.
I am waiting for ARMYs to create a dozen email accounts to purchase through so all purchases will count. Then what will Billboard do? As long as they are counting bundled purchases from western artists as legit, then I cannot give respect to Billboard as an institution.
I didn’t want to promote this as the next hack but when I told the cc boys about this. I said that’s exactly the next phase. Then filtering by credit cards or personal information becomes a privacy invasion unless their fine print tos updates to purchases on these platforms are allowed to segment by personal identifiable information. This will be the response by th to the multiple email accounts.
Armys said lets use all those voting acc loll i saw a comment saying if u cant use same email create more cant use same ip i will go to very nearby store and buy one cant use same same card i will hav diff ones thenn 😭😭😭
@ystrw oh yeah, for sure. I've seen it happening for years too. But they're getting more creative, like they are ensuring another IP is logged when creating a new account and other cc is used.
Thank you for talking about this. For real, TH-cam is just as corrupt..deleting views. I have lost what little respect I did have left, for all these charts, streaming platforms and award shows.
@@Jurnalist_ Wait till you hear what radio stations have done. In 2018 they went on sooo many radio stations to promote, and ARMYs were so thankful. We would said cards, flowers, cupcakes. A whole spread of food once. Not as bribes, but as genuine thanks yous for giving the boys a chance. And all got was crickets. No one played them. Thats why their radio count is almost 0. Stations will not play them. I was so mad. One station even gave the boys our cupcakes and send "we got you cupcakes!" As if they got them for the boys. Oooh ARMY was mad that day.
billboard isn’t even responding to all these claims, army had trended billboard’s corruption and the media has started reporting but they’re still silent and i can’t even blame them bc what are they gonna say when it’s all so clear? jimin is the only one affected in that list, this is ridiculous.
the focused efforts of army make it very easy to change a rule that only affects one person or artist. to only need to filter for one metric because you know how Army is buying now means we can make a rule that only hits Jimin. It sucks and gives the plausible deniability with the were trying to be fair bs.

But I was so happy you made this because of everyone I watch- You are one of the most honest and well-informed people around. I really appreciate how vocal you are, it feels amazing to know someone is willing to see and call out this corruption instead of just calling us crazy and tell us we're throwing a tantrum. Which, fandoms all over did. It was so disheartening to see people making fun of us and pretending this was just an ARMY issue. They're completely ignoring that this doesn't just effect us, this effects every artist- especially the ones who don't pay their way in the industry. I say kpoppies cheering this as a victory- when this literally means their artists are NEVER going to touch those charts now. This is a problem for all music fans. I think we need to continue to be loud about this and expose this corruption, but it's so hard to do that because no one takes us seriously. They never had. They keep painting us as crazy fans instead of well-informed music lovers. Sorry, I ranted. But really, thank you so much for this video. I hope you have a really good day and glad to hear to got to have a nice rest period.
The amount of times Billboards and other award shows change their criteria after BTS gets to the top and/or win is ridiculous. It's bringing me back to when Ricky Martin won at the Grammys, late 90s I think, and the next thing you know, well hey, here is the Latin Grammys just for you and you dont get to be in the main award shows. Have fun and toodles! Now Billboard is trying for the kpop awards and likely will get a chart in there, just for anyone under the Korean flag. 🙄 Then again, this actually doesn't surprise me knowing how corrupt the industry is, like any big industry. Does anyone not know that companies pay radio to get their artists at the top? It's pretty common knowledge, right? And radio is the highest point in determining who gets at the top? When radio is dying? Hey I get it, these companies put in a lot of money in these artists and they want a return. But man, they shady as f@ck.
I'm not about to give up the fight. we know those platforms don't gain much from bts, this is why they act like this. bts for them are a nuisance that takes place of someone who could have paid for being on that place so just leaving those platforms, not pushing bts anymore, letting them dissappear is NOT a win. this is exactly what those platform want: to never see BTS again and I would rather be annoying and not give them this satisfaction. no spotify is using their non transparent filtering rate that goes up to 50% exclusively for bts so they can manipulate bts' position in chart TH-cam is using filtering to stagger bts' mvs and not let it trend and spread, amplifying a shadow ban without actually shadow banning Billboard is pulling new rules out of its ass every time we manage to work out a way to win the game again WHATEVER it's not our first ride. we've been there. it takes time, but history shows that we have the last laugh every time I also want to say that those platforms are not the endgame in the end of the day the money we spent on buying albums goes to BTS and IFPI will show the actual numbers. bb can rot in its own misery I do get why bts army leaving those platforms all together could destroy it, but the scenario is a bit utopian even for an organized community like ours. even our fandom has a lot of gray and dark areas plus I do not want to actively make bts another pioneer of revolution, honestly. you think other fandom will follow the movement? no they won't. they don't face the same discrimination, it's not that urgent for them to change the reality. I am not about to put my community and my favorite artists in a position of even more uncertainty than now. easy to be a hero on words. maybe the day when more people, more fandoms will be at the same level of frustration to actually do something against the industry, then we can make it work. but not alone, alienating bts completely as if right now is not enough how bts music performs on charts is the initial way they can see our appreciation. would be true to say they don't care about it, right? they might not care about awards and records itself, but about the people who made it happen. on the show jimin attended before the album was release he thought even top10 on bb isn't possible when other guests were hyping up his upcoming release. and he was so happy and felt so loved when he saw the news about #1 as much as I am frustrated with the industry and want it to crumble, that desire won't ever be my first priority. I'm in this for bts and I have to take things realistically and do what I can with what I'm given. all of us here are like this until bts give me a clear message THEY are ready to change the ways their music is consumed, I'm not starting. they have to have this understanding and be on the same page too
100% agree with you.. I'd love a fair world.. But BTS will always be my priority. I will not take a risk that could hurt them in any way. They need us now more than ever..
Only one reason that stops me from not giving up on Spotify and TH-cam is because the streams of those platforms are useful for charts. If that wasn't the case I would've settled for Weverse Album, the song quality in that is great. And these music platforms pays the artist pennies and grossly corrupted too! It's sometimes just too tiring and upsetting because much resistance from the industry, feels like a uphill climb. Each platform, from sales to deleted in front of our eyes without any logical explanation. It's frustrating. And for some reason big chunk of general public and fans of other artist hate BTS so much that they will overlook and even justify this mistreatment because of that. This really gaslights the newer general public. It's too much!
Did streaming on YT affects on Billboard's chart? Flower by Jisoo BP has more views than Jimin's why Jisoo didn't reach #1 on Billboard? (Sorry for my English)
@@desyretnoastuti4072 billboard hot 100 is for U.S. and PR citizens only. So charting on that depends on how well US and PR part of fandom does. It includes sales, streams and radio spins. All these weigh differently.
this is not even the first time they screw bts over blatantly. i remember in the ON era, in 2020, that they literally just didn't count a majority of the streams for ON (only spotify and like half of the youtube views, when they're supposed to count all of that AND some other platforms like pandora and others), so ON debuted at #4 despite having potential for #1. they didn't even count all of the tracking days of the two platforms they did count either, and we had the evidence. they never responded. that's when the tomfoolery of billboard changing the rules after every single bts high charting position on the hot 100 started. we know why we're getting screwed over too - because bts don't do payola and then, through fan loyalty, the one factor payola can't control, they chart higher than the people who pay to chart high and then the people who paid get angry. it's obvious. but anyway... the sad fact of the matter is that we still kinda have to deal with all of this because that's how we got bts into the position they're in - visibility through charting because they refuse to give us normal visibility through radio and playlisting. you know it too because the one thing non-armys know about bts is that they're massive because they maybe overhear all these views and records broken and see our fandom's presence, that's it. maybe they'll know dynamite exists because that's what the us music industry wants people to think is the representative of bts' image and music, but that's it. it's a bit concerning these days though that every single platform under the sun has decided to filter basically all of bts views and streams - spotify filtered 39% of like crazy's streams ON ITS 19TH DAY OF EXISTENCE, while western acts rarely get even 1% filtered on debut, when the filtering rate is supposed to be highest due to looping... youtube has been deleting at least a million views per day AFTER 2 WEEKS OF THE VIDEO UP and they're trying to convince us that yoongi can't surpass 15 million views in like a week and jimin can't surpass 40 million in almost a month, when this is the fandom that got 110M views in 24 hours... they're trying to convince me some rando kpop girl group can get 20M in a day but yoongi can't do that in a week??? be serious... it was bad before but ever since face dropped, i've never seen these levels of filtering in my life. they've even started freezing and deleting views from BT21 CONTENT. those characters bts made. that's not even musical content😭😭 anything bts is getting deleted and sabotaged from here. tiktok too - creators who get 120k views on every single thing they post, only get like 10k views on their like crazy videos - the amount of views on their videos goes 100k, 110k, 120k, 113k, 10k, 120k, 135k... guess which one is like crazy lol - tiktok legit shadowbanned the song too. this sounds like fanfiction at this point but i'm not kidding. sounds to me like some ceo said enough is enough, get them out of here for every single platform there is.
2018 was just as bad. I remember how much ARMYs showed appreciation for all the radio stations who were going to have BTS on. They were sent flowers. Some got a whole spread. Many got cupcakes. And this one station actually gave the cupcakes to the boys and said it was from them. NO it was not!! ARMYs sent that to the radio station. Like fans tried to show soo much love and appreciation for radio stations cause we all thought they genuinely wanted to give them a chance and play them and all we heard after was crickets... Almost zero radio play. And still to this day, they won't play their songs. Only songs they collaborate with.

@@GrumpyKay yes the played "left and right" on the radio but it frustrated me that JKs name was not included. Will it be left off again when him and JB do their colab?
TH-cam is just as bad, they've been deleting bts views by the millions for years (I literally saw 5 million vanishing before my eyes all at once, I still have the receipts), meanwhile artists that pay YT for ads don't seem to have the same issue (it's like they trying to strong arm bts into paying for ads too). I despise these platforms and institutions, but for us to be able to boycott them, there would have to be a massive consensus which is difficult to achieve not only bc of many varying opinions, but also bc army is not located on just one single space and reaching all those parts of the fandom would be impractical. So army strategy is to fight back within those platforms by making BTS so visible that it helps the boys get many more fans to grow our ranks, then we educate those new fans, and the more the fandom grows and the more visible bts is, the more locals start noticing the industry's inconsistences ("oh wait, I am not a bts fan, but everyone knows bts never loses fans voted awards, how is it possible that ~~*insert industry darling*~~ won against them?", "oh I'm not a bts fan but this song of theirs was a huge hit, it went 1# on BB and everything, why doesn't it play on the radio? why didn't it win X award?"). The more army fights back from within the system, the more dirt we expose to more people when the industry tries to sabotage us. The more desperate they get to stop us, they're bound to shoot themselves in the foot eventually. We in this for the long run. It's tiring, unfair, and disheartning to see how little value the art of music itself holds to these people in power, and how low they're willing to go, but to quote the boys themselves "if we don't do this, who will?". I want to believe that even if we don't fix everything, we can at least help fight for better conditions not just for our artists, but for all those people who have dreams of music. We have power to cause change, I mean, army has caused A LOT of change already, so who knows what the future holds. @@marissa1341 Agreed, the most common sources of trouble for us within the fandom are often delulu shippers, solos, and I'd also add mantis as their savior complex makes them frequently support solos victimizing narratives. Just a couple of points: -Isn't it better to count votes from fans willing to spend their own money on their favourite artists rather than counting votes from 'pay for play' radio spins paid for by large corporations? -Surely this will effect all non-English acts if they have to start depending on radio play to get anywhere on the hot 100? -Jimin has achieved #1 across the world in various charts, why is it only the USA that feels the need to repeatedly alter their whole system? -Why don't we ever hear about Taylor Swift's album/merch/ticket 'bundles', FOUR album versions and SEVEN remixes? We need to stop focusing on the USA and celebrate wins in the rest of the world. Yes, the American music industry is the biggest in the work but now we can blatantly see it is the most corrupt and biased.
They count radio the most because the system itself was based and built off radio so it’s their way to maintain its essence. We don’t hear about Taylor because she is why they looked at the rules but didn’t change them bts forced their hands. America for other reason than music is why every big artist that takes America is even bigger normally back home. So it’s like a crown jewel. The future is a globalized music industry and if I can have a say in that future that’s my focus. Regionalized markets are dying and I can’t wait to see the future I see coming actually exist.
he actually jumped from n 1 to n 45 in the 100. the one you saw where he was n 8 was the prediction before billboard changed the rules. also i dont understand one thing. jimin jumped so much only on the hot 100 US, whereas he stayed in the top 5 in the global and global excl. US. does that mean they filtered mostly in the US?
Hanteo, the Korean chart, did filter him the first week- knocked 700k off his sales because they didn't want to report that he broke the 1m first day sales. They even shut down the live-time viewing app so viewers couldn't see what was going on. But in the end they had to admit he broke the record. (Hanteo is under the control of the Chinese company, Kakao. Kakao and HYBE were just in a major bidding war for stock-control of SM. That was not a coincidence.) Oricon (Japan) and other charts reported correctly, as they are neither threatened nor greedy.
how does our artist grow if he doesn't appear? it makes no sense to leave the platforms aside, what is right is to be so present that they cannot ignore us
Your presence just gives the platform and the entities we don’t like more powerful. Your absence in the mass numbers leaves not only a financial crater they can’t regain but actually puts an extra 10%+ or more back in bts pocket directly. This increase is a ball park guesstimation but if army only bought directly from HYBE or bts they no longer lose in transactional fees and other incidentals in having to deal with dsps. If we want change in a meaningful way. Then imo fans must be willing to step away and do more to connect with the people they want. Instead of working with the bad systems in place. They must be broken and destroyed not fixed. Just like the corrupt legal system. It works as designed it is not broken and needs repairs it needs destroy and replaced.

If you (we) want change that long term money they would get won’t exist in the form we know it to currently be in because in the short term the system that generates that money would collapse. If the top 5 or 20 artist shed their loyal fans not the casuals said take my music off your dsp and they stopped using the app. That doesn’t only affect bts fans alone. But the other artist those bts fans listen too. The sheer number of people and activity would monetarily break them. They would not be incentivized to pay a meaningful amount per stream and would also no longer be willing to participate in the market manipulation labels want. Just a theory though.
@@Jurnalist_ I understand you, it's very difficult to go against the system and at the same time be part of it, but for now we are doing our best, streaming on these platforms is still necessary, I liked the idea of one person in the comments about BTS themselves to create a platform, if HYBE starts one I would be very supportive
Yes. I asked this question about the haters in another comment elsewhere. What about the artist accepting this system? Why are they not speaking up for "fellow artists"? .
They are contractually bound to major labels that control so much more of them than BTS and BTS doesn’t win so they can’t speak up and Army speaks for them when they lose so currently they can’t do it either imo. It’s a catch 22.
@@Jurnalist_ isn't there a standards board for business practices in the US that ARMY as a collective in the interest of individual fans can lodge a complaint about unethical practices. It might not work but at least it will be out there. Has The Independent even covered it? Sorry just random thoughts
@@nsma2629 If there is one think I know, BigHit/HYBE will sue if anyone harms the image or success of BTS. They might have to work with an American law firm to do this. Which will take time. But if there is a legal way to handle what just happened, in100% believe HYBE is already on it.
It really is sooo damn infuriating that these industry forces have no integrity at all. They aren't even trying to pretend that this isn't targeted sabotage. While I agree that it would be ideal if fans could use their power to turn the tide, this is not something ARMY can risk. This is coz every other fandom (including those of Western artists and K-pop artists) sees BTS as a group to take down. They do not care about what those changes would imply for their artists coz as long as it hurts BTS, it is something they will celebrate. Likewise, the media will cover our moves as something done by crazy fangirls, so no one will take it seriously. The same thing happened with Ticketmaster. All of ARMYs complaints were ignored for years, but the second Taylor Swift's fans were inconvenienced, the media and senators decided something had to be done. The only thing that would happen in ARMYs abandoned platforms is the media would seize the opportunity to say that BTS are falling off and downplay their success without providing the context. Korean media in particular has been salivating to crown the next BTS for years. We would only be giving them fodder to hurt BTS. There is too much at stake for us. We have too much to lose. Billboard's rule changes are clearly favouring those who put money in their pockets and most of the big American artists pad their pockets. Unfortunately, their rules could discourage fans from buying. But I want to remind ARMYs that we are not just buying for the Billboard charts. No matter how much they filter and lie, these sales will count for IFPI, and above all, it will benefit BTS. Let's keep being loud about the corruption, but don't stop supporting the boys. Use different email ids when purchasing to work around their rule change. We need to show all 7 of them that we support each of their solo work and that we'll wait for them to return. This is a time of so much uncertainty for them, and the media that surrounds them loves to make them think their time is done. We have to show up and show up strong. Like Joon said, "The ARMYs I know and the BTS you all know, we're all strong. We'll find a way, we always have. If there's no way, let's draw the map, the whole map again." This is not our first rodeo. We'll figure things out.
There is so much nuance in this conversation. I now you mention actually buying the album but coming from the perspective of someone who lives in a third world country and the convenience that platforms like Spotify give is almost debilitating. I’m South African and I have always wanted to have a conversation of how fandom activity and their culture excludes 3rd world countries South America and Africa specifically. I would place responsibility on artists to be more involved in distribution in order to make them benefit instead of “the men in suits” Update: Just got to your “access” part of your video. Yes!!!! Access is so limited for so many people (in this case ARMY)
I think most army would like to just opt out of this whole billboard grammy american music industry bullshit. we could rlly do it in an effective way if we got other fandoms to join in. The problem is that other fandoms hate our guts for superficial reasons, not realizing that we have studied the charts extensively more than they have and that these things affect their artists as well. Its quite literally a warzone, esp on twt. In addition, bts have expressed their immense gratitude, pride, and appreciation for the things that we have helped them achieve in the industry, so i think that on the more emotional aspect of things, army finds it rlly hard to let them down on things like that. We will continue investing time into the charts and the us music industry as long as bts express their interest in them and until they themselves stop submitting for bb or grammys. For example, I could not care less abt a grammy and i would rather not contribute to their ratings by watching the program live. However, if bts are continuously submitting their songs to it, you better believe i want them to get it, so i will be tuning in to watch 🤷🏽♀️ i personally think that ever since announcing that they will be serving in the military or since the pandemic some of the members may have lost some interest in performing on the us charts. They stopped promoting heavily in the us after all the radio and interview bullshit happened in the love yourself trilogy era and now they rlly only have done selective interviews with american publishing and radio networks. For indigo, RM did interviews only with zack sang in the us and the rest were outside the us. jhope promoted jack in the box domestically with more programs in korea. Idk its just been an uphill battle for such a long time, even since their debut. I hope this will end soon or we can just opt out.
It's not only Billboard, though they're definitely one of the worst. But this has been happening to BTS time and time again for years: Changing rules on them and us, removing TONS of sales, views and streams, changing category requirements and in one instance even entirely removing an award category. And "strangely" the timing just happens to be just as BTS has achieved/is about to achieve something new or is about to break a record. ARMY has been shouting about this for years but whenever we do we're portrayed as whiny, toxic, crazy, paranoid, etc. when in fact we're just asking for transparency, equality and respect. (I know you're talking about this in a broader sense but I can only speak from the perspective of an ARMY and music lover. 💜)
so the chart you looked at that you didnt understand, the points are counted for US charting for hot 100. its kinda odd how they switched up the placement (as I understand it) so radio playlisting - pay to play - is now the highest point placement, followed by streaming (discovery playlisting/hitplaylists - again usually paid advertising, various platforms like Spotify, Pandora, Apple Music, YT, even Facebook, etc) and get this... actual sales that PAY AND DIRECTLY SUPPORTS THE ARTIST COUNTS THE LEAST!
Thank you for the breakdown. I really had no idea and my brain was so mad I couldn’t just break it down. I get why they count the least but filter them like they do is criminal imo.
@Mikrokosmos Muster This is some fantastic indepth information!! Thank you so much!! Have you heard or discovered whether or not Spotify has been involved with any type of manipulation, being in lockstep with BB's manipulation, after Jimin debuted at No. 1 with "Like Crazy"?
@@Chill_Jill Spotify are almost if not as corrupt as billboard. We've had to call them out a few times and got apologies from them and then restoration of their figures for BTS and BTS artists
Billboards stats are so rigged like wow it's BS I feel for jimin on this for sure he was so excited and happy he got number 1 on Billboard gosh. It's not right how they did this to jimin.
I was waiting for so long for Jimin to drop a solo album, but I was never expecting the impact it would make that billboard is doing everything it can to suppress it. I haven’t even bought my physical albums yet.😢
I'm disappointed to the awarding board. And i stand to what your points of view and it's true to see the small income fans want to support an artist rely on free stream or ad supported but not counted it hurt much really disappointed.
Thank you for your video! TH-cam sabotages bts just as much too because they don't pay for ads. If you want more drama then get into how many millions of views they delete from them and it seems these rules are only applying to bts bcs other artists views aren't being as deleted as much. Regarding this, I understand the want to boycott, 100% agree it lost it credibility. In the end, we buy their music to support them, and that money is going straight to them. Artists barely make $ from streaming, yet billboard only puts restrictions on sales, bcs they don't get a piece of that pie. This can happen to anyone, and yet no one outside our fandom is talking about it. When Taylor's fan had the issue with ticketmaster, we all supported them bcs we see their corruption, yet it feels like we are alone in this. Media is silent. It's just us, against the big corporate corruptions.
Thank you for your comments I agree with everything you have to say I never realized how bad the American music industry was until I became a BTS fan and a Avid follower of them as far as I'm concerned the entire music industry billboard and the Grammys let's call them the scammy's don't even deserve to have any artist showing up at their events and we won't even talk about the so-called having to play on the radio I don't know who the hell listens to that anymore on radio I sure don't cuz I don't like the music that they play
Not gonna lie, I didn't know about the billboard 100 until I found bts. I'm from Argentina, we don't really care that much. What is mindblowing but not at the same time, is the attitude this music market has with everything they can't profit on. They blantantly ask the guys what they thought about our armys buying their music and streaming their songs to get to #1, as if that is somehow cheating? But paying the radio to play your music is not?. In the table at 9:04 there's sales, radio and streaming, if you look closely almost all of them have millions of "listeners" (I don't know how they actually get that numbers, but that's beside the point) and Jimin only has 0.3m, that means only few radio stations are giving it spins, even though there is an english version and the song is super radio friendly. Right now, radio is fundamental if you want to get #1 and you have to pay them for the spins, it's disgusting.
Oh that article in Forbes....Hugh is "okay" but yes he tends to write what will pay money. Brian Rolli on the other hand, he's freelance and will sometimes gets his articles in Forbes and he'll bring out receipts.
Just started video and I must say that Melanie Martinez is good. I haven't heard this song in chart yet, but it is pleasant surprise to me she made it to the top. She is good. Haven't listened to her for a few years, but when I did listen to her I loved almost all her music.
@@Jurnalist_ oh, well. I am not sure I will be able to remember all her songs now, but Mrs. Potato Head, Dollhouse, Pity Party, Carousel, Cry Baby. I haven't heard her newer music but at least her old stuff has certain concept and style (like pink goth psycho-horror, I actually have not enough english words in my vocabulary for this, lol). I'd say it sounds at least interesting production-wise.
@@volhan.p.9722 Her K-12 album was a fun continuation of the CryBaby storyline. The short film she did was cool too. Similar thing of using childhood concepts in the titles, sound design and lyrics and to cover more mature topics while completing the story. I havent heard the latest album from this year yet though.
I was so livid for the last couple of days. This is crazy. I don't have much else to say anymore. It's not even Billboards only: Hanteo deleted and hid Jimin's first day sales (about 700K were removed), spotify filters streams like mad (but that's been going on for ages), and youtube has been deleting at least a milli views every day. It's demotivating but i'm glad BTS is still doing what's best for them.
My Problem with stopping the streaming or platforms: I don't even want to Imagine the articles and thinkpieces that are being written about how they have fallen off because they have lower Numbers. Like the amount of people laughing at Army for not hitting the Same Numbers in yt for yet to come as the previous Videos was INSANE. Also currently we no longer have the streak since 2013/14 of Most viewed MV on YT and Most streamed Song in Spotify by a k-act. Its only April but people are already celebrating that our streak could be broken
How can an industry validate their any of their claims when they’re filtering a certain artist sales from 60 all the way to 90%?!?! That’s insane, it just shows how much power they think they hold over the entire industry otherwise they wouldn’t do shit like this and fully believe they would be able to get away with it and there’s nothing the public can do about it. Its infuriating to see it happen before our own eyes, especially when we invest so much of our time, energy, hard earn money into supporting particular artists. This is just a known fact roaming around out there and Billboard is okay with themselves being called corrupt and xenophobic it should rub every American the wrong way to see this go down, it goes against everything the American constitution stands for and what our culture is firmly founded on. I can go on but it just falls on deaf ears at this point. Thanks for your video and intake man, keep it 100.
there is talk about suing billboard for accessing personal information thats supposed to be private such as email accounts etc . I think we need to make our own platform. Music should be what the artist likes shouldnt be about making it a hit. When nip comes to tuck BTS are laughing all the way to the bank because we buy more physical albums than any other fandom and we sell out all their concerts in minutes. I put more weight on the awards they receive from MAMA and MMA than Billboard and Scammies.
@Jurnalist I started following you because I just got introduced to BTS by my little sister 💜 when I visited her like 3 months ago and they blew my mind like I've been living under my rock lol I wasn't thinking about another country but BTS and what they stand for 😲 omg we need more people like that 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜..... !!!!! So I felt like I took a crash course on them where was I I had no idea !!!!!!
That's how I became ARMY because I love BTS as people. This is why I support them wholeheartedly. I've stopped listening to Spotify also. TH-cam is my go to atm.
Shady AF!! They can’t handle that a foreign artist is wrecking shit! I’ll guarantee you I won’t be watching billboard awards anymore!! And I’ll just continue to support Guys in other ways . It’s so wrong and I hope Jimin knows that all Army is behind him no matter what 😡😡😡
When. JK did his Calvin Klein ad ......You Tube deleted 50,000 views in 2 hours. I caught it by copying and pasting the views and came back 2hrs. Later and their was 50,000 less views. I made a comment and one army replied, saying they always delete BTS views ( they claim bots) But this was an AD !!!!
Thank you addressing this bs about charts again. I really hope that at some point all this charting would become standarded in a way that these issues would get fixed or rebuild completely.
Thank you for doing this video. I wish there was more we could directly do. It's the frustration, disappointment, disgust, etc.... I completely get what you were saying, I really really do. In a way I just feel so stuck, like... helpless to change it or try to fix it, etc... It's so annoying honestly. Just writing this comment has been kinda rough, because like you in the beginning of the video, I am just like not sure what words to put to the feelings, or should I say, it just seems so jumbled and a mess. Because its just a lot, and it's still insane to try and wrap your head around.... yeah, so thank you. Truly sad 😖😣😞
I enjoyed watching your point of view/opinions on this. I def support the guys by buying the physical album and on itunes every time and luckily I have a cd player in my car and can listen there instead of Spotify
This whole situation is a mess, some people are saying they didnt change the rules and that they just took 100k sales out !i kinda believe it considering the top 20 is the same as last week and no one else sales were "filtered" besides his! like he got sabotaged so much. 700k sales went missing the first day of the release youtube messing with the views for the 100th time (stil deleting them) spotify messing with his credits and streams like they dont want bts to be number one AT ALL
11:25 We follow in BTS/BH’s lead. We know their goal based on what they do. If the single is cheaper than normal, make a remix, and indicate that it counts, we know they want this to chart and where to chart (US, S. Korea, etc.). So what just recently happened with Billboard, is so outright/convenient, they might have a different perspective the next time. For example, BTS went to every major music award show in the US that they were invited to. They stopped, because it’s not their priority right now. The ratings for award shows dropped lol. Remember, BTS wasn’t attending VMAs so MTV decided to award them to another group/artists. But since it didn’t make sense for BTS not to get any award as they won every year (especially for Best Group?) they awarded just that one award at the last second, but all these media outlets reported the other group as winners already even though MTV hadn’t announced it yet lol. Anyway, if BTS/members want to chart or be nominated, we will support their dream. That’s really the only reason why we support them for the Grammys, because they wanted to try one more time to see if they can win (I assume especially before Jin had to enlist), but nope. The guys are probably just letting that go for now, and when they come back, and if they feel inspired and prepared to have a big bang come back, we’ll support them if this is something they want.
8:30 I don't know if you're aware but there are Army around the world who buy extra albums to give away for fans who cannot afford it... So under the new rules, these purchases would not count because they were bought from the same card! There's also things like "army funds" that collect gift cards for army to buy new albums and releases, which might be the only option to make the sales count, but it's also ground for scammers and not safe for army :/
Yes so when I buy for a friend as a gift because they have a birthday coming up and I know they want the CD/Album etc etc and I buy my own copy and a copy for a member of my family it's it only counted as 1 purchase sorry but that's just not right. It's my money I can do what I want with it.
Seein this kind of rant from you is really refreshing. These are exactly the kind of things we as armys have learned to expect from the music industry in us. It shouldnt be like that, but when the evidence is right infront of you, then what can you do.. I was so mad that Indigo was basically nowhere to be seen(compared to the greatness of the album) and now this.. If we feel this shitty just from lookin at the sidelines, i can only imagine both RM and JM tryin to look forward on how their projects theyve worked on for years, ends up doing on the charts, and then this is what they get. Im mad.
@@Jurnalist_ when i think about how RM said that even to this day, everytime he releases music, he dreads checking out the internet couple days right after that, what the response is gonna be like, and that even tho he always tells himself not to have any expectations, to avoid expecting something and then getting nothing, that he still ends up having them. All this just tells me that these charts/numbers mean something to him. They dont define his music or make it into anything, but clearly it still has some meaning. And i would think that anyone who does music, would wanna see the results being reported as they are, no matter what.. At the end of the day, good music is good music and its not like any of the members are lacking any support.🙏 it just bothers me that even after all these years that theyve worked in this industry, there are still these kinds of things happening, its something that happens every single time. Its ridiculous.
65000 radio LISTENERS we barely get any spins while continously requesting to play the song. the few spins we got accumulated 65k listeners songs that are actually promoted by radio get 100m listeners
My thoughts on limiting physical and online sales affect the artists themselves the most because record companies will only lower their percentage per song to make up for this loss. Because those who have contracts with major labels will already pay for "marketing" and payola anyway and they will not be affected in position at BB.
I'm in the middle of like a million conversations on twt right now about this. To the point that I can't reply to posts or comments any more. Lots of people are trying to put the blame on Big Hit and Hybe for the bullshit the US industry is pulling. It's wild.
@@ArmantoAlex13 this right here, this manti nonsense is the biggest threat to the fandom as whole. Ass backwards, no critical thinking, hero complex obsessed morons spewing shit on tw and every comment section. Go look at hybe stocks after jimins no1, Hybe is a bussiness, they know who are their moneymakers. Stop victimising the members, you sound like a 8 year old. They are all adult veterans in the industry, all with a degree in broadcasting and entertainement AND they own shares in HYBE. Jimin had a say in every step of the process, Planning the promo included. This stupid narative that you just brought up, makes them look weak, which is the last thing I would describe them as. So wake up, and stop spreadig nonsense. If we let fucking stupid takes like these spread, the fandom will crumble from within,on its own, no western institutions needed. UGHHH
@@ArmantoAlex13 Jimin *chose his own promotion schedule* . He said so. He chose who would work with him on the album; he said that too. Suga pointed it out in Suchwita 7, saying he would have helped if Jimin wanted, and Jimin thanked him, but said since it was about him going solo, he wanted to do it himself. That's why he didn't do any collabs. He did call up RM for help; he could've had anyone in the industry, if it was within the company's power, but he chose RM. All of the guys have chosen their own promos with their albums. That's why RM got a tiny 200-person live show in Korea and a couple of variety-show type interviews instead of multiple music shows; that's why J-Hope got Lollapallooza; that's why Agust D is getting a full-fledged arena tour. It's what THEY want. The company is giving them what they want, and there's no point saying otherwise.
@@ystrw He was talking about writing, not collaborating! And all of that is immaterial! I’m talking about how badly he’s being screwed over right now and PD/Hybe is nowhere in sight! They’ve already moved on to their golden goose and the superstar westerner, JB!!! They’ll reach #1 and stay there for weeks, mark my words! And it’s only BECAUSE it’s a collab with one of their own! The snake, Scooter Braun is licking his lips at the thought of using a BTS member (yeah I know they’re connected but that actually makes it worse what’s happening to Jimin). Jimin has always gotten the short end of the stick, been bullied and had his life threatened by haters…it’s still happening now and, seemingly, only his fans give a $hit about him getting his due - what HE has actually worked hard for, especially now as. SOLO artist - something the 2 youngest members know nothing about! Are you trying to convince me otherwise? I can tell you right now that’s not going to happen!
@@ArmantoAlex13 If it's immaterial, why'd you bring it up? You just want to blame HYBE for something, and you decided to bundle that 'promo' thing along with it. Of course HYBE is nowhere in sight, just as they're nowhere in sight when they're responding to reports of unacceptable behavior or racism or threats. Kinda defeats the point of a legal team if they fling everything to the four winds for everyone to gawk at. Doesn't mean they're not responding to the situation. But what exactly do you expect them to do publicly? BB chose to change their rules. They can do that. They screwed over Jimin and f'ed up the chances of other K-artists ever getting to chart. They can do that, too. What's HYBE going to do, demand that BB revoke their new rule? Insist that BB count the sales they cut? There's some 'billboard manipulation' charges for you. Maybe you think they should post a big banner on Twitter with 'BB Corrupt' on it? How unprofessional. HYBE- and Big Hit- don't ever stoop to that kind of thing. Lodge a formal protest? Where, and with whom? What're the odds that BB would respond to it with: 'Oh, you don't like our new rule? Tough. Our way or the highway. ' I think HYBE is doing the best thing they can do. They're keeping quiet and moving forward. Some of what they're doing, we can see: they're going continue with their plan to blow the lid off radio with JK and JB, as was obviously already in the works. They're going to hold an enormous concert involving a lot of groups that will (now) never make it to US radio, gathering them more attention than US radio could ever get them. As for what they're going to do about the US chart industry's refusal to host any of their artists anymore... we will just have to wait and see. But considering they've already bought up KQ and are eying other American music labels, I think they're going to be very hard for BB and radio to ignore, soon enough. I think they're using their MBC tactics: LET the stupids stir up bad publicity for themselves. LET them have their bad attitude and tarnish their reputation. It's already biting them hard in public opinion, and it will just get worse over time.
Yes I buy solid hold in my hand Albums/CD's always prefer but I use streaming sites when I'm out and about it always keeps my CD's less likely to get damaged as I can be a bit clumsy and break things. oops.

@@Jurnalist_ they just went and deleted 100k sales, or 90%. Take this, the remaining 10% those 14k sales were still enough to keep him and Like Crazy as the no1 selling digital. So Jimin´ s 10% was more than the rest of the industry. No wonder they are scared,
We buy all lol. Like i bought so many digital singles, digital albums, and the physical from physical stores and from Weverse. Too much money spending 😞 but its worth it. Also dont worry about it being long 😂🤣 its fine. I for one love when you rants. Look i can totally watch an hour of you just talking about whatever you want to rants. You make it fun 😊
We need music journalists writing about this and the truthful articles needs to trend. Tagging the offending party! Thank you for your passion and voice Jurn! This is part of being ARMY especially because BTS as big as they are, are still othered on so many levels.
Nope! It's not o.k.!!!!🤬 I'm watching him rise in ranks in Portugal, UK and other countries. The US is the only music industry that manipulates their charts. NO MATTER the artist! So much politics! And our humble Jimin....was just testing the waters brilliantly with his music! I think they need ARMY'S support more than ever!!! Again....brilliant rant!❤
I know people think it's racist, but I don't (I know some are, but I mean in general). I think it's purely about money. Just like how korea had 3 main entertainment companies (before hybe) that controlled everything... the US is the same. They don't want anyone messing with their system or money. The US has had their system and companies set up way before Korea hopped on board. They are great at being sketchy and having no morals, lol. I love BTS and hate it for them, but they don't need all of that anyway. They are huge and have great success. Keep fighting the system or calling out things, but bts success does not rise or fall because of their corruption, ARMY is a powerful force. As long as they get to make the music they love, I'm ok.
This shit is so corrupt. I listen to metal and electro on my Spotify, and BTS too. I logged in today and they literally put this Morgan dude song as recommended at my player play button(the place when the song that you used to play before shows up). I would just click it accidently and Spotify would give him streams. I never listened to country in my life. It's paid all the way, not recommended. Shameless.
It's infuriating. I'm not in the music industry, but I'm an author and it's a lot like hitting the New York Times bestselling list. I'm not sure if Billboard is entirely the same, but the New York Times is a curated list, and if you are traditionally published, you don't know the specifics of how the list is curated, but you know it's not pure sales. First, the NYT literally cherry picks a handful of "representative" bookstores to calculate sales velocity, and no one knows exactly which stores. Second, the NYT doesn't consider all books; publishers send the paper a letter that's essentially a heads-up "we think this title has bestseller potential!" and the NYT can actually DECLINE. Third, the ranking is weighted by sales, yes, but also "points." Points are assigned by an opaque criteria: whether or not the author had hit the list before, if the book received starred reviews from trade publications, if the book has "timely" content, etc. My debut novel was a New York Times bestseller, but my second was not, despite having sold more copies than the bottom three titles its release week. As for why we seek validation from these institutions despite the shady dealings...well, I suppose it's because that validation gives you a modicum of legitimacy, and you can do a lot more to change things with a modicum of legitimacy than none at all. We want the boys to be recognized by the institutions because them hitting achieving these milestones proves that these achievements can be achieved outside the system. And that’s the thing that scares those in power more than anything.
Well said across the board. And I'm always so interested to learn new things about the inner workings of different industries, so thank you for that info as well.
The fact that Jimin in this instance, and BTS in general are coming out on top as much as they are makes Billboard look bad to the people who are paying to make the numbers. Like, if record company pays for a #1 (payola, playlisting etc) they have gotta be PISSED to get a #2 because ARMY pushed and got BTS a #1 without paying up.
If you notice Hybe is ignoring Jimin’s accomplishments! And they have from the start. Jimin had the number 1 ever for a K-pop artist, but then Hybe came out and said JK had the 1st #1 so even his label is doing him wrong!
Do you think Billboard will change the rules back again when Jimin's album is no longer new? It is similar to the Grammys suddenly counting radio plays, but not caring that the radio plays were not from public play requests.
Billboard counts sales in USA. If Army would want to play their game (means dirty) we can just ...use vpn. That's it. If global Army joins it's end game for them. Sending love from EU. We just want Grammy for them bc they want it. Simple. So we will break the system that way or another. And then we will ignore them to death. I already say if you are young artist better start learning Korean. "We are literally strong. The ARMYs I know and the BTS you all know, we're all strong. We'll find a way, we always have. If there's no way, let's draw the map, the whole map again. So now worries, we're still strong, and we're still connected." - Kim Namjoon
Actually we cannot use vpn, Billboard filters it since it's against the rules. Also armys don't use vpn for a very important reason, it would be like cheating and bts would get dragged through the mud for that. If we play, we have to do it within the rules or the tannies will be the ones dealing with the repercussions unfortunatelly.
That will be the new way to subvert the rules but they will use another unique marker like address or credit card number to filter next. All they have to do to make that legal would be to change tos.
also it took me a while to watch your video cause this entire thing makes so sad, as someone who’s close to musicians (and see how fucked up the industry is) and as an ARMY. I just wanted to know the name of the hot guy with blue hair (it was Namjoon) and now I’m way too invested in this Billboard discussion
I'm a big fan of Jimin, not necessarily of this newest album. But BB is based on stats and they're messing with the stats here by pulling new rules out of their arse. They're discriminating against Jimin, BTS, and likely KPOP as a whole. Like it or not, BTS is perceived as KPOP by Western music markets. This sets a bad precedent. Hell, not just for Korean music but foreign music in general. Never been particularly fond or supportive of these bs systems, but it's another annoyance. Thanks for speaking on this. I'm not all that active in your comment sections, but I appreciate your laid-back and honest vibe. You were getting pretty heated there, understandably so, but somehow kept it relaxed 😅
The problem is only jimin is the one affected by this for others the sales r there …. So it seems the rule may have never changed….they just booted him out specifically
They don’t have fans who buy 1-5 albums at a time. Bts fans are different like that. Which is why it’s so easy bro be hyper specific with rule changes that adversely affect army and bts and not really anyone else.
Now you are a full Army in my opinion, as soon as you wake up at Like 5am for a Premier or are mad like that at the industry and how they screw them over. Fulla Army experience
I'm so disgusted at Billboard but what can an average American consumer do. I messaged Billboard I think we need to flood their emails. I can't tell how many artists that own multiple copies , example I buy Foo Fighters but then my son wants it, I'm not giving him mine lol . I don't know about the rest of the list. Morgan is a country artist. I said Jimin has 40+ million followers and they think he didn't sell 100k. BS
The fact that other Kpop Antis are rejoicing had me chuckling. As if this will not affect their faves. They should be outraged like we are. BB don’t even hide their racism anymore.
That’s the real point. If they do this to them. Who won’t they use it on when they want. Them having this power is an issue.
Lol right? Like why are they rejoicing? This is going to majorly affect them and their artists even worse than BTS
At this point BTS should make a whole app for music and there own awards 😭💜
So….award themselves?😅
Hybe making their own streaming service or awards is not far off 👀
I just hope they keep championing for artists and their rights as big hit initially intended, but I naturally feel weary of any big company that has big money to lose
BTS doesn't have enough fans?

HES SO DOPE
Thanks for the review
Army’s should just start their own radio station and call it 6.13 FM👏🏼😅
i like this idea.
the thing with these platforms is that they all do the same thing, for example:
- spotify high filtering rate if you don't pay.
I like this 👆🏻👏🏻🫰🏻!
All I can say is dam man. Jimin didn't deserve that...AT ALL. It's sad
They're already doing it 😂 the comments I saw on stationhead was essentially that. Or they are getting their family and friends to buy
@@marissa1341 ARMYs are pretty familiar with making multiple accounts to vote, so this was the logical next step.

the focused efforts of army make it very easy to change a rule that only affects one person or artist. to only need to filter for one metric because you know how Army is buying now means we can make a rule that only hits Jimin. Thank you for making this. ARMY knows this is all fucked up and corrupt. It does feel like we have our hands tied.
Most people walk into it skeptical until they see the evidence. These people are effin with our contract with reality.
Then again, this actually doesn't surprise me knowing how corrupt the industry is, like any big industry.
I'm not about to give up the fight. we know those platforms don't gain much from bts, this is why they act like this. bts for them are a nuisance that takes place of someone who could have paid for being on that place
so just leaving those platforms, not pushing bts anymore, letting them dissappear is NOT a win. this is exactly what those platform want: to never see BTS again
and I would rather be annoying and not give them this satisfaction. no
spotify is using their non transparent filtering rate that goes up to 50% exclusively for bts so they can manipulate bts' position in chart
TH-cam is using filtering to stagger bts' mvs and not let it trend and spread, amplifying a shadow ban without actually shadow banning
Billboard is pulling new rules out of its ass every time we manage to work out a way to win the game again
WHATEVER
it's not our first ride. we've been there. it takes time, but history shows that we have the last laugh every time
I also want to say that those platforms are not the endgame
in the end of the day the money we spent on buying albums goes to BTS
and IFPI will show the actual numbers. bb can rot in its own misery
I do get why bts army leaving those platforms all together could destroy it, but the scenario is a bit utopian even for an organized community like ours. even our fandom has a lot of gray and dark areas
plus I do not want to actively make bts another pioneer of revolution, honestly. you think other fandom will follow the movement? no they won't. they don't face the same discrimination, it's not that urgent for them to change the reality. I am not about to put my community and my favorite artists in a position of even more uncertainty than now. easy to be a hero on words. maybe the day when more people, more fandoms will be at the same level of frustration to actually do something against the industry, then we can make it work. but not alone, alienating bts completely as if right now is not enough
how bts music performs on charts is the initial way they can see our appreciation. would be true to say they don't care about it, right? they might not care about awards and records itself, but about the people who made it happen. on the show jimin attended before the album was release he thought even top10 on bb isn't possible when other guests were hyping up his upcoming release. and he was so happy and felt so loved when he saw the news about #1
as much as I am frustrated with the industry and want it to crumble, that desire won't ever be my first priority. I'm in this for bts and I have to take things realistically and do what I can with what I'm given. all of us here are like this
until bts give me a clear message THEY are ready to change the ways their music is consumed, I'm not starting. they have to have this understanding and be on the same page too
I second this.

My hopes is that at least some of the people who don't actually care about or respect bts, might leave our spaces before 2025, meanwhile we do our best to drown out the toxic voices with our numbers, like we started doing to clean the weverse live chat.
Just a couple of points:
-Isn't it better to count votes from fans willing to spend their own money on their favourite artists rather than counting votes from 'pay for play' radio spins paid for by large corporations?
Thank you thank you thank you!!

I AM SO DISGUSTED at Jimins week 2 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He’s STILL NUMBER ONE ☝🏼
he actually jumped from n 1 to n 45 in the 100. the one you saw where he was n 8 was the prediction before billboard changed the rules. also i dont understand one thing. jimin jumped so much only on the hot 100 US, whereas he stayed in the top 5 in the global and global excl. US. does that mean they filtered mostly in the US?
Yup!!! The other countries aren't filtering because they aren't getting the money from the American music industry to ensure that it's filtered
Yeah, then there were a bunch of articles about “biggest fall in charting history” without addressing why.
how does our artist grow if he doesn't appear? it makes no sense to leave the platforms aside, what is right is to be so present that they cannot ignore us
Your presence just gives the platform and the entities we don’t like more powerful.
@@Jurnalist_ the purchase generates more money in the short term, but not in the long term, not everyone will buy the music every week, but everyone will listen to it, so yes, our artists also earn from this
@@Jurnalist_ BTS has 33 billion streams on Spotify alone
@@lafranco.123 yes they earn from it true. But that thinking of the long term seems like it’s a long term thought but it’s really a short term fallacy imo.
@@nsma2629 I myself wouldn’t know but would love to know.
If there's no way, let's draw the map, the whole map again."
This is not our first rodeo.
I would place responsibility on artists to be more involved in distribution in order to make them benefit instead of “the men in suits”
Update: Just got to your “access” part of your video.
@Mikrokosmos Muster

Imagine if jekey or V drop the solo album too😭😭..maybe billboards or youtube will do whatever it takes to prevent them from topping the charts🤧🤧🤧🤧
I don’t like publications that allow for paid placement but I do know Forbes still drops some great pieces.

Just started video and I must say that Melanie Martinez is good. I haven't heard this song in chart yet, but it is pleasant surprise to me she made it to the top. She is good. Haven't listened to her for a few years, but when I did listen to her I loved almost all her music.
What is a good song we will check her out.
Also, they did it in so obvious way. That drastic drop in this little timescale. This is laughable.
@@Jurnalist_ oh, well. I am not sure I will be able to remember all her songs now, but Mrs. Potato Head, Dollhouse, Pity Party, Carousel, Cry Baby.

Im mad.
I don’t think they are even concerned with the numbers anymore that’s why the music is still so our despite the fame and notoriety.
We don't do Joe Budden. We do not support him at all.
I know that tweet! Its insane
65000 radio LISTENERS
we barely get any spins while continously requesting to play the song. the few spins we got accumulated 65k listeners
songs that are actually promoted by radio get 100m listeners
My thoughts on limiting physical and online sales affect the artists themselves the most because record companies will only lower their percentage per song to make up for this loss. Because those who have contracts with major labels will already pay for "marketing" and payola anyway and they will not be affected in position at BB.
I'm in the middle of like a million conversations on twt right now about this. To the point that I can't reply to posts or comments any more. Lots of people are trying to put the blame on Big Hit and Hybe for the bullshit the US industry is pulling. It's wild.

I think HYBE is doing the best thing they can do.
Respect Jimin #BillboardCorrupt
Yes I buy solid hold in my hand Albums/CD's always prefer but I use streaming sites when I'm out and about it always keeps my CD's less likely to get damaged as I can be a bit clumsy and break things. oops.
Thank you for the cursing XD that was cathartic
I was upset. The highest levels of pistivity 😂
@@Jurnalist_ I felt tht lol
"who are these people" ME as soon as the Radio is playing Like what is this never heard of them
The same thing is happening now to Jimin it’s so sad that theyre treated so badly even while in military 🤦🏻♀️😢
Wow. I know Jimin must be feeling very sad about this.😔💔
he may not even care the high of the getting the number one has him so jazzed who cares about how many extra weeks we broke through the ceiling it means it can be done lets get back to work.
Buddy they did not just filter it they deleted out whole d2c store sales, didn't count a single sale from that!
Incredulous activity.
@@Jurnalist_ they just went and deleted 100k sales, or 90%. Take this, the remaining 10% those 14k sales were still enough to keep him and Like Crazy as the no1 selling digital. So Jimin´ s 10% was more than the rest of the industry. No wonder they are scared,
@@atlantis315 that’s a real issue for the rest of these artist and corps.
I may dip my toe in some more commentary or discussion videos. Don’t know where to really get in though.
Great video
TH-cam filters as well. So that isn't a better solution.
As long as they get to make the music they love, I'm ok.
once a Big Hit, BTS and ARMY broke Big3 hehe. BTS and ARMY are not the ones who give up quickly
Agree. It's always about the money
Shameless.
YT also continued to manipulate the views of Jimin's music video. And many ARMYs witnessed and recorded this moment.
Keeps those receipts Army's always.
No as I haven’t seen them reverse rule changes. They just become the new metric for the industry to compete with.
So now worries, we're still strong, and we're still connected."
- Kim Namjoon
VPNs get filtered out and make us look bad. We don't even use them for music show votings and I don't think we need them.
DO NOT USE VPN! VPN is tracked and filtered out.
Appreciate the explanation!!@ I will go and buy another album rightrr now and maybe we need to start addingf more email addresses?
That will be the new way to subvert the rules but they will use another unique marker like address or credit card number to filter next. All they have to do to make that legal would be to change tos.
I can't believe BB did that!
TH-cam also keep deleting jimin's like crazy mv 😭😭💜
also it took me a while to watch your video cause this entire thing makes so sad, as someone who’s close to musicians (and see how fucked up the industry is) and as an ARMY. I just wanted to know the name of the hot guy with blue hair (it was Namjoon) and now I’m way too invested in this Billboard discussion
Thank you for getting through my rant. 🙏🏾
Why we didn't see Morgan or some others effected by this rule change?
They don’t have fans who buy 1-5 albums at a time. Bts fans are different like that. Which is why it’s so easy bro be hyper specific with rule changes that adversely affect army and bts and not really anyone else.
that bucket hat reminds me of one piece
I am the Kaizoku Ou that’s why. 🫡😂🏴☠️
BS
