I love jmins album, it's like a diary and it hits my heart just like many others who understand what he's trying to convey. Jimin has the ability to pull you right into the depth of the story with his vocals, dance, and his artistic creations. I love his use of so many art forms to convey messages. It definitely made me reflect on some things about myself, then I love the ending of the album with his LETTER because it feels like a warm hug saying everything is OK, you are going to be in a better place now...let it go..

Jimin 's song takes me back to a time in my 30s, a time when I had many losses and was immersed in pain and sadness. But exactly, as you said, in that immersion change happened, the process was ugly, insane, but humbling . I made it through and grew emotionally as a human. Now, I recognize those feelings, and I think, what is the universe giving me now? How will this shape me? I play the song over and over and remember with a smile that I made it! Its a beautiful song!💜🙏🙂

I find that like jimin recommended, listening to the songs in his album in the order they are presented really helps tell his story even more so… and they’re all wonderful songs … different, unique and captivating … loved the whole album and surprised to hear the hidden track which was a true gem as well.

Thanks for your beautiful interpretation of this song. The reason I knew BTS is because of Jimin. I happened to read his emotional IQ when I was so exhausted as a frontliner during the pandemic ready to quit. And I was struck by his simple yet very powerful words “ It’s just a bad day, it’s not a bad life”. It resonated to my very core that day and it made me curious to know who this person is? That moment I “Jim-in” and became an army thereby calling myself a pandemic army. His kindness and consoling words are very endearing that feels like he’s hugging you. It seems like we were experiencing the same emotions and he’s showing me the way to deal with it. He is truly my happy pill. He works so hard that’s why he deserves everything that’s coming to him. Saranghae jiminah 💜💜💜BTS forever 💜💜💜

To get a glimpse of what Jimin went through via his songs had made me empathize his experience, and at the same time reflect on my own. The FACE album is very relatable to me.

Thank you for this video. You truly capture all the emotions I got from this song, specially because I was aware the whole album has a meaningful order in the tracks for Jimin. I also feel you when mentioning how this song made you go deep in your own status in life because it was the same with me. Relatable and honest is what I get with Jimin's album. For me is a masterpiece when you think about the time he wanted to capture but at the same time applies to life itself with or without pandemic. Jimin for those who didn't know him before is a surprise. For me, Jimin was the reason I got to BTS, his ability to take you in a trip of emotions every time he danced or spoke was just a tip of his potential and after Lie, I was just waiting to hear more from him. I'm really happy and thankful for his music. What an exceptional artist.

I’m not into kpop at all. In fact this is the 1st album I’ve listened too. I heart Set Me Free PT2 & was blown away. I thought kpop was “cutesy” music but this went hard! I couldn’t get over it. And the dancing was jaw dropping. So I gave the album a listen when it came out. This is my style. I didn’t kno it was about him getting thru the pandemic when I listened at 1st. I knew he was telling a story tho. I love that each song is different. They each have a completely different style & that amazes me. Singers usually stay with one style but he seems to do it all & really does each style justice. I love where he made changes to his voice when speaking to himself. At 1st I thought it was backup singers but later found out it was still him just using techniques that changed his sound. It gave depth to the songs & made me pay attention to the story he was telling. Face off & set me free 2 are the best. Set me free will be around for a long time. I get the feeling it’s gunna be used as an anthem. Face off is raw pain but I find it sexy. It’s a sing I’ll definitely have playing when having fun in the bedroom. It’s made for sex in my mind. Alone is a song that makes me sad. I like his voice in this song but it just makes me sad. Not cause I don’t like it it’s cause of the words & how soft it sounds. It’s from the heart & I can feel he was hurting. Anyway after a long blurb I guess you can see I did love this album although it is very short. I want more & hope he does more soon

Beautiful analysis!! The song as well as the whole album is a masterpiece!! And because it is relatable, it makes it all the more amazing! One thing to know is, the haters know all this and that is why their analysis are always flat!! The song is boring or he can't sing (because he used auto tune in set me free) shows how much reach had to be done to come up with those flimsy excuses!! The song can be romantic to people who do not dive deep into the reason an artist create a song! Some people are surface level, they hear a song, love the lyrics and roll with it (it is not a bad thing). So I can understand very well why some people will call it romantic...the lyrics is quite open to different interpretations (which for me is the genius of BTS lyric style).
It is unfortunate that 'hating' is now part of entertainment!! This is seen everywhere now....the fans are the issue!! The toxicity in some fanbase is maddening!! Unfortunately, as long as social media exists and anyone can have access to it, this trend of hating or pitching one artist against the other will not only continue to exist but get worse!! This generation do not subscribe to the fact that there is space for everyone to excel!! They are so quick to attack others in the name of defending their fav (who isnt even all about that life)!!
Sometimes, I wonder if it is worth being a public figure in this age and time!! People do not treat them as humans anymore and I worry for their mental health!!
Hopefully Jimin and the other members continue to get the right support for their personal and mental state!!!

The album truly is a gift from Jimin and makes you think, feel and reflect. The first time I listened to it, I felt sad and went back to bed not knowing why. In the morning I listened to it again and realized the song reminded me of my own loneliness when I was younger and going to clubs. I did a lot of traveling and self discovery in my life but because of this song I realized I have not felt the horrible aloneness and along the way it change to a full peaceful life. Jimin’s courage, his artistic ability, willingness to emote through music, dancing and singing are incredible, for lack of a better word. I truly respect him. Thank you Jimin and thank you for the very eloquent review. 💜💜💜🙇‍♀️🙇‍♀️🙇‍♀️

I too believe it's a groovy (yes I must use that word) sounding sad song. Which Jimin so nicely shared with us. He was lost and didn't even realize it or didn't want to. His words not mine. This is just a piece of the puzzle of Jimin's experience during a difficult moment in his life. I appreciate he bravely shared it with us and I applaud his strength and fortitude to move past this moment in his life. Yes, it's a song that makes you think while making you sway, and jam away.

Great review !! That is how I feel about this song (while watching the mv and live performances and behind the scenes) but don't know how to put it in words...also, for me the story telling deepens when I watch the choreo... the hand movements etc...Also I enjoy this song very much bec when I watch reactions from the point of view of an editor, choreographer/dancer, producer, vocalist...there are so many many hidden gems that I learn and pick up from them that I know it "some how" but don't or can't explain the said feeling...in resume, each dive in with different people or expertised led me to uncover new messages from our Park Jimin...equals for me a great song. Period💜

I am new to BTS, slowly discovering them over the past few months and pleasantly surprised at every turn by the melody, the quality of singing and the depth of the poetry that transpires even through translation. I don't speak Korean but that has never stopped me from enjoying various cultures, movies or songs. When I get hooked on a song or music, I might put it on repeat and listen to it multiple times each day over a period of weeks. Lately BTS latests became my staple despite my age or maybe because of it: quality. If a song is going to get stuck in my head, it might as well be something both enjoyable and meaningful. I am not surprised by their success: they are amazingly gifted but also skilled, dedicated to their art and hard working, presenting themes many can relate to across the planet. They are impressive ambassadors not just for their country or a generation but for our times. Each solo offering so far has been stunning in its own right: such talented young men. They deserve their success and need to understand that unfortunately great artists trigger envy, jealousy and threaten a status quo. Da Vinci's inventions were laughed at. Impressionists were torn apart by critics. Music is no different. They are onto something: keep at it but don't listen to haters nor try to please, just do "you" because separate or together you are a voice for our times.

Face is a spectacular album and I think it will be a classic! Jimin manages to connect similar deep emotions that we all feel and share through music in an extraordinary way. It made me (who didn't even know BTS until Junkook opened the Qatar Cup) experience an ebolition of feelings in songs. He is a genius artist and still as he says evolving. How can you not admire such hard work and so fantastic in the details?

He is indeed an extrodanary story teller. He and Rm are both great at doing this in their own different ways... These guys
(all 7)are talented on another level! And comparing them to anyone else is just (crazy) bc they just have that magic dust sprinkled upon them that makes them unique to anyone else in the entertainment industry. And the ppl that have known them since the beginning and those that joined along the way that are still just as excited about (anything) they do are the only one who get that!! No other way to explain it! 🥰🙏💜💯 great reaction! 😊 ty 🥰

I agree with you that this song is a bit sad and very introspective. Whenever I listen to this song, I always think that Jimin must had a hard time during the lockdown. However, it also gave me a reassurance that things would be okay bc he turned it around. There is always hope and light at the end of a long dark tunnel.

When I first saw the MV I felt so much pain at the end. Not how sexy it was or how he was living his best life. Pain. After watching as many interviews and behind the scenes videos, it started making sense. Looking at the all English as well as the Korean version gives you more insight. We can’t get inside his head or his heart. But most can agree it is indeed about pain. (He has said that in many ways.)

These songs pulled this feelings back up, making me realize the strength I had within.. just as I imagine Jimin had to force himself as well. The difference being, he had to do so publicly which must've been tortuous! There is so much more depth to this album and I truly love it!!

Thanks for this analysis. Jimin is incredibly brave, bold, and of course, talented to take us through his journey so candidly. When you consume the content like most ARMY does (including interviews, articles, VLives, etc.), you get a clearer and richer picture of his expression. I love this song and I understand why Jimin's Dad could cry after hearing the album; being a parent myself of adult children around his age. I was always texting and calling my people during the pandemic to check up on 'em. To find out that your child has gone (and made it) through such depths of emotion is both scary and infuriating at the same time, especially if you don't find out about it until later!!
Anyway, I recognized the sadness immediately from the visuals (Jimin standing looking around like he had just arrived at a strange place, like how did I get here) and the asmr ... but I couldn't process the lyrics, cuz it's Jimin🤷🏾. But there were still moments/scenes where he didn't seem completely comfortable in the environment, watch his facial expressions either at the beginning (where he's slow to respond) or the ending of scenes (where he seems to be enjoying but then his smile fades); PLUS a huge telltale for me was him sitting against the wall in the club looking lost, again like why am I here and how ... OMg, I have been there!! Not to mention the ending club scene where he's walking around not smiling and laughing, but singing "this will break me - this is going to break me, but don't wake me I want to stay in this dream, don't save me - don't you try to save me, I need a way we can dream on". The first listen of this song left me uneasy, like most of the songs on FACE ... except Set Me Free Pt2 and Letter; I felt fight/determination and love/comfort, resp. in these two. But all of the other songs were hard to listen to only because of the difficult emotions Jimin evoked; but it's better now 😊 after at least 1000 listens I only tear up at Letter because of the triumphant resolution of SMF2.
Sorry this is really long ... didn't intend it so. But thanks again for the analysis, well done. 💜

I, too, felt the same way, but was not sure if my experience is what #Jimin intends. #Jimin is brilliance ✨with a heart💖 and that’s what I love about him. Actually my take is #BTS is that, thanks to #BangPD for tapping that in the members. And thanks to #PDogg for putting his talent put each member’s musicality and artistry into the color and content of #BTS. And #Jimin’s album “FACE”, shows his growth and brilliance.🎉🥂✨💐💖💖💖I also see see this in #Jimin’s choice of collaboration, may it be musical production, fashion, his reels, etc.

his song brought the lonilness that covid brought to many around the world. The depression of loss, isolation, being alone and needing to escape. He escaped in his dreams and drink. I escaped thru reading and sleeping. I lost many during the pandemic.
Biggest loss for me was my husband. Then lost 4 other family members. But loss of my husband is taking longest to deal with.
I acquired an autoimmune deficiency from the pandemic so I am still isolated. I use the net & my phone to converse. When I leave my home for Dr appointments & test I have to make sure person taking me is well. I am now on oxygen & will probably being wearing a mask while others don't.
Life is different & so am I. As Jimin shares in his album it took him a long while to get past the loss and depression. But he "face"d himself & got thru what life dished out. Made him take a good look at himself & he became stronger.
His music I found relatable & hit home with me. I still have a ways to go to get fully where he is at. But know by what he shared it can be done.
Blessings to you on your video share I agree with your assessment.

I'm late to the comments here, but I just discovered your channel in the past month or so & tremendously appreciate the thoughtful approach to your videos (& like that you try to make it a safe place for dialogues to occur).
I'm kind of relieved by your take on Like Crazy because it almost made me cry when I first heard it. How many months later & it still breaks my heart a little, but the beat is kinda sexy, so I get why people lean that way!
Love this album (so far, I have loved all the solo albums for various reasons). It's so... visceral and smartly executed. It appeals to both my intellectual & emotional sides. That's actually what I love about BTS in general. I'm an older fan & so happy to have discovered them back in 2018/19ish (I just realized recently that I was excited for MotS:7's release, not realizing it was that long ago!). They're the 1st group to inspire me in decades - and I don't really listen to pop or rap music, but they explore so many different genres that I never get tired of listening to them. Thank you again for such wonderful content!

The instrumentation of the song for me is a sexy sound. I was in my early to mid-twenties in the 80's. This song is to me so eighties sound vibe. For some people, when they are lost and in the middle of facing a big change in their lives or trying to find themselves, may go to a bar and hang out to deal with the pain like in the video. That's why I think people can relate to the video on the other hand the lyrics are something different. Thank you for reacting! I have missed you on my feed for a while. I am happy to see you back.

Jimin used that 80's electronica vibe that is on trend at the moment so the track sounds really young and fresh. And if you listen on headphones it sounds even better with the backing vocals coming through!
I have not looked at any statistics but knowing BTS track record this is getting minimal radio play, despite it being a perfect radio track AND there being a full English version.
At the end of the day this is simply a really great pop song, and the world (not just ARMY) agrees!💜

how dare you ask this question? of course JIMIN's album is wonderful, and each of his songs is a real gem! This unclassifiable album is the result of an incredible musical, visual and aesthetic work. A lot of emotions emerge from it, a lot of suffering, love and resilience! JIMIN IS A MULTI-TALENTED ARTIST!

Totally agree with what you've said here! I've always been drawn to Jimin's expressive vulnerability combined with inner strength and determination, and it really comes through in this song especially, and the whole album.

I love the song and I like your interpretation. It's a really deep song. But I think it has to be interpreted in a context with the other songs on the album. It's filled with contradictive feelings of pain, loneliness and gratitude towards the things he misses, performing for Army with BTS. Everyone sees him, like the inmates see the tower in the panopticon prison (in Set me free) but they don't see him, locked in the tower. Limited by his fame but also uplifted. And he wonders who he is in all of this, a search in all the songs.

The song is a work of art. You can perceive it on a different emotional level. It raises the same questions to me about where I am in my life story, why I feel that everything I do has no effect and where it makes sense. What's the point in all this? But in the end, we know it's about learning about yourself about becoming a better you. And at the end of your life, it's not really you anymore. you can be better or worse, depends on what you picked up on the way. Even the people we meet on the way and bump into them, as shown in the MV, are people who give us a certain essence, development, even if they cause us problems, if we can accept them as part of our growth and development, we will definitely be happier, more successful and make sense.

13:25 "All these years of trying my best and just trying to do the right thing as often as I can. Where has it actually led me? And I just wondered, like, 'Am I worth the space that I am occupying?"'and "'What's the point of all this?'" Oh, I am so sorry you are going through this existential crisis. I can assure you (just from what I have seen of your videos, which is just a little bit of acquaintance) you are most definitely worth the space you occupy. You are intelligent and insightful. You share that with the world. You try "to do the right thing as often as I can." How many of us can say the same? How many of us take the easy path instead of striving? Oh, my goodness, please, please know that you are enough, just as you are. I, for one, admire you.

Your review was detailed and well thought out, helping me clarify how I feel about this song. Thank you
I grew up at the heyday of albums and really enjoy listening to then in the order the artists set so I can hear their story. BTS is great at putting albums together and Jimin in particular gave us a very cohesive story in album form.
When I first heard Like Crazy, I thought of the Movie "Desperately Seeking Susan". It's about a suburban woman who starts idealizing the lifestyle of this party girl in 1980's NY. It's the music of that time and it's the subject of realizing your life choices may not be what you want anymore that grabbed me. It sent me back to my youth and also made me think about how life changes and you have to adapt and grow. I've liked it more each time I've listened to it.
Favorite version is the acoustic bossa nova he did for a YT show, highly recommend! th-cam.com/video/1wvz8Rs7dgc/w-d-xo.html 10:54

Many Korean songs have sad lyrics but cheerful rhythms. This song sounds like fun, but it's also sad because Jimin's hard experience is melted into the song. Even if you don't know the message of the song, it's a song that you can fully enjoy while falling in love with Jimin's unique tone.
