Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II is an upcoming first-person shooter game developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision. It is a direct sequel to the 2019 reboot, and will serve as the nineteenth installment in the overall Call of Duty series. It is scheduled to be released on October 28, 2022, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
Modern Warfare II brings several massive changes to the Call of Duty gameplay across the board. Several new changes have been touted, such as advanced AI system in the campaign and co-op modes, water physics and swimming mechanics, as well as an overhauled vehicle system. The Gunsmith system is also given a revamp, allowing players to fine-tune specific attachments to suit their playstyles.
Modern Warfare II multiplayer features several new game modes: Knockout, where two teams attempt to capture a package with limited lives; and Prisoner Rescue, where an attacking team attempts to extract a hostage while a defending team prevents them by fortifying defenses around the hostage. The cooperative Special Ops mode is also confirmed to return.
MW2 (2022): no major characters were killed in this game.

Literally bro. It’s like MW (2019) and MW2 (2022) are like the first two avengers movies where nobody dies. I thought Gaz would have gotten killed off here. Soap and Ghost not so much. But after that Thanos Level reveal of Makarov and No Russian on the Plane. I was like “😱😱 Makarov is gonna be the one to kill 1 maybe even 2 main characters”. Now I’m Hyped for MW3 or any other story dlc if they add something

That reveal for Makarov and operation no Russian was the most bone chilling thing cod has done in a long time for me personally. Seeing the guys manage to smuggle weapons in parts and waiting for Makarov to give the go ahead was bone chilling.
That would ruin the meal though. I sure as hell wouldn’t want residual dirt or even gunpowder from the magazine to fall onto my food

Man makarov is one of the most if not the most scary antagonist in whole cod franchise
I still got chills even now when I unexpectedly encountered Makarov in the helicopter during the Turbulence mission.
Considering there was an incident in real life where a Russian Ultranationalist's daughter was killed in an ambush attack.
I hope we get a Modern Warfare 3 safely, otherwise it'll happen in real life.
Him and Raul Menendez are basically what we want out of COD's main antagonists

The fact Price and his unit in this universe were dead serious and filled with that calm, stoic dread, with Ghost himself giving a look that just screams "Oh shit... Not _him..."_ tell you that not only do they know of Makarov, they know how dangerous and vicious he is...
The fact they know how dangerous he is speaks volumes about how much more dangerous he is in this universe.

He was already terrifying before, he blew a huge chunk of the us marines(which in turned made Shepherd a baddy), blackmailed the Russian president to do his bidding, caused world war 3 that already attacked major cities such as Washington, London, Berlin, and killed more beloved 141 members and others. If that doesn't make him more terrifying than now then I wish Price and the gang the best of luck.
He was already very dangerous even in the old lore. Doing terrorism since 2001 and probably before that. The only reason why he remained free was because of his high position in the ultranationalist party that controlled russia

I played the OGs. I know Makarov is not only a huge deal, but how dangerous he is. But this just takes him to another level. The looks on their faces pretty much tells us Makarov is the boogeyman

The most feared antagonist in the COD franchise makes his grand return. And all of their reactions just remind you how much of a threat this guy is. Gaz is like “Might wanna look at this, Soap is probably thinking “Aw shite” then we have Mr Skull balaclava “Fuckin hell” just the fear it puts into them all.
What gave it away for me is that Laswell said "We got a bigger fish."
For those who don't know, Makarov was also called "Kingfish" around the middle of OGMW and OGMW2.
The Operation "Kingfish", led by Price, Soap, Ghost, and Sandman, was a mission which involved killing "Kingfish", as ordered by General Shepherd. Unfortunately, the mission ended in failure, resulting in Price going MIA, and Soap getting promoted to Captain status of Taskforce 141. That was also the mission where the AC-130 was seen shot down... By an RPG. I'm not kidding.

Makarov will return in the MWIII reboot which is confirmed because of the ending scene at the bar. It will be another WW3 setting and Makarov will probably be more insane and gruesome.
They said there won’t be an mw3, but this will be a campaign extension for next year.

Wouldn't mind a MW4. Always thought we'd get a MW4 out of the original trilogy but obviously they went a bit crazy with MW3 and the whole WW3 thing which left no room to expand. The subdued nature of the new reboot leaves alot of room for things to do. They can lead up to an eventual balls out war type cod and don't have to make it a trilogy either. As long as they have stories to tell.

Honestly, I like to believe and will keep believing that MW2019 until this cutscene is the only canon part of this timeline. I'll continue to trick myself into believe that MW 2023 hasn't come out yet, and there was a reveal of Makarov instead being Roman Varshavsky.

I am a newbie COD player. MW2 is my first, but I knew about some other COD things cause of my friends. When the credit scene dropped and I saw "No Russian" Come through text my jaw dropped and I gasped out loud. The OG mission is incredibly iconic so this was huge
As an Og Cod player, when price said “he isn’t new” I kept saying Makarov and it was him. You should really play the original modern warfare series, you won’t be disappointed. Mw2 09’ was my first cod!

Roman Varchavsky really had the voice of a cold, calculative and efficient man who had a the tactical prowess in carrying out his plans. Really hope he does come back.
Honestly, I doubt it as many voice actors don't reprise their role, but I would vote Roman Varshavsky for this.
None of the old cast came back so far, except Glenn Morshower (new Shepherd) he had a role in the original MW2 multiplayer.

I have a theory about the scene on the plane. I think that the flight attendant giving out meals IS Makarov. First of all he gave one of the shooters a magazine full of bullets. And he then waited until they constructed their pistols and texted them on the phones. Also the guy we see constructing the pistol and receiving the text could be Joseph Allen from the original MW2 who gets shot by Makarov on the ambulance.
