Patton and the band's ecleticism really shines with the random covers they just used to throw out there. two of my faves were the widely popular super Mario live medley they did (one of my earliest downloads back in the day) and the lampooning of Red Hot Chili Peppers for that Halloween show.
Original artists: 01. Tower of Strength - Frankie Vaughan (though calling it a Burt Bacharach cover might be more appropriate) 02. 24.000 Baci - Adriano Celentano 03. Territorial Pissings - Nirvana 04. The Stroke - Billy Squier 05. Taboo Tu - Arthur Lyman 06. I Feel for You - Jerry Reed 07. Der Zinker - Peter Thomas (from the eponymous film) 08. Third Floor Dungeon - Dr. Seuss (kinda, this is an outtake from the soundtrack to the film "The 5000 Fingers of Dr. T") 09. Begin the Beguine - Cole Porter 10. Radar - Bernard Herrmann (from the film "The Day the Earth Stood Still") 11. The Jet - Mikis Theodorakis (from the film "The Day the Fish Came Out") 12. Yajû Toshi (aka Fast Satoh) - Masaru Sato (check out the original, there's an amazing part that wasn't included in the cover) 13. Love in Space - Peter Thomas (from the Raumpatrouille Orion soundtrack) 14. Casanova 70 - Armando Trovajoli (from the eponymous film) 15. Love Dance of the Saroos - Joe Meek 16. Working for the Weekend - Loverboy 17. I Sin for a Living - The Meatmen 18. Parents Were Little Once Too - Mr. Rogers 19. The Clown In Me - Mr. Rogers 20. Thunderball - John Barry (from the eponymous film) 21. Hick - nobody knows (probably not even the actual title of the piece either) 22. Action - Freddy Cannon (theme from "Where the Action Is") 23. Ei Raat Tomar Amar - Hemanta Mukherjee (not sure what film this is from) 24. What the World Needs Now Is Love - Jackie DeShannon (this is another Burt Bacharach song) 25. The Jet Rock - Mikis Theodorakis (different arrangement of The Jet, from the same soundtrack) 26. Cold War - Siege
@@jdoubledj9421It's generally presumed to be a cover but this has never been confirmed afaik. Hick is (and forever will be, in all likelihood) the biggest mystery in Bungle history.

and before the Internet it was all about waiting once a month for record fairs, driving for hours finding these small town halls, going from vendor to vendor trawling through their wares and asking for anything they may have on this band called Mr Bungle.... and then paying up to $50 for a * cassette * copy that, if you were lucky, was less than say a 3rd gen copy! And most times you didnt even get the chance to hear the tape on offer.
@@mr.bunglemuseum4274 no doubt entitled by the vendor himself :D one time a vendor said he was selling a Mr Bungle jam in Patton's living room, I instantly gave him my details, never heard back from him though... never found out if that one was true.
I’m not the op, but… it actually is Taboo Tu by Arthur Lyman (which is indeed incredibly similar to Quiet Village. Can be partly explained by the fact that Lyman was the vibraphonist for Denny’s band before he branched off / went solo. I do personally wonder what the story is with taboo tu being so similar to quiet village…Quiet Village came out first, but perhaps the song was based on an idea originally by Lyman and he decided to expand upon it later after parting with Denny?)

Yeah “80 minute jam” was just disco volante live in San Francisco 95 lol.
The new bungle line up did a killer cover of Van Halen's loss of control
I also loved the Mr Roger's Neighborhood theme, first half of Hell Awaits, and Summer Breeze.
Thank you whomever put this together.! This is my favorite collection of live tracks ever!
incredible stuff, thanks for putting this together. would love to add their cover of pencilneck blues too
Hellz yeah! Also, Welcome Back (John Sebastian), The Super Mario Bros. Theme, and Loss Of Control (Van Halen), and Summer Breeze (Seals & Croft).

Wow so Taboo Tu is essentially Quiet Village by Martin Denny
There is a cover version (out there) of Nothing Compares 2 U, which I think is beatifull
its not
territorial pissings... the way it should be
Just missing "Time".
Also COC's Loss For Words and Dungeon Song from 5,000 Fingers of Dr. T.
And DRI's I Don't Need Society
