Thanks for great video. Can you explain how physical connections are made? Do you have a router or switch that all the devices are connected to via ethernet?

      Hi Pertrio,
Yes I have a router setup.
All my devices are connected to that router.
My two xtouch controllers are connected with an Ethernet cable.
My mixer is connected via Ethernet cable.
My computer is connected via Ethernet cable.
As you saw on the video, I have my controllers set to be DHCP so that the router gives them a correct IP address in the same subnet (network) as my mixer and my computer running mixing station.
If you are network savvy and want to assign your own static IP address you can turn DHCP off and set a static address.
If you’re using this method and want to static assign everything connected, then you could use a switch and not a router.
If you don’t know what I mean here, then you should use a router as most consumer switches do NOT have a DHCP sever that gives out addresses to connected devices.
Make sure your devices are plugged into LAN ports on the router and NOT the WAN port.
      Hope this helps.
If you have questions, let me know.
Thanks for watching and happy mixing!

Thank you for your quick reply. That cleared a lot.
      I use static IP.
I’ve an Airport Express for wifi and switch that I use for ethernet connections. Mainly my mixer (x32 rack) is on stage and FOH is done with iPad or hardwired to Mac via ethernet. Now I have been using MS with xtouch via usb-midi.
Your video got me thinking that would it be better to use ethernet than usb for connection between devices. Would it be more stable?

      You’re welcome!
Ethernet is always a better option.
WiFi is great to have available but there are too many variables that can make it unstable or prone to issues.
If you can hardwire, do it.

Great video I have one question is it possible to use a single XTouch to control all channels ie 1 to 32 in my case ?
The courier is on his way today with the XTouch so can’t yet test for myself

      You can totally do that!
The bank and channel buttons move you through the channels by default.
