Hi, thank you very much for the video's on how to connect xtouch to mixing station on a windows PC over a network.
After an intensive week of messing around with router settings, rtpmidi and mixing station, I finally got my 33 fader M32c setup working correctly: 3 extenders and 1 xtouch.
It looks impressive, but not something I will take on the road.
I will stick to the usb solution with one extender and the xtouch for gigs 🥴

      Fantastic!
I'd love to see your setup. If you feel so inclined, send me a couple of photos at email@quickez.ca
thanks for watching and happy mixing!

Thanks for all your videos on this stuff. Xctl works well alongside Mixing Station, but using MIDI over network like this is an absolute game changer. Makes the XTouch an incredible buy.

@@QuickEZ I keep coming back to your videos man - I've just upgraded my Xtouch with a Microsoft surface go running mixing station with MIDI from Xtouch. Been using it at my home venue and it's amazing. I've got an external touchsreen on the way to display/control open sound meter for system engineering and level monitoring.

      Im glad you’ve embraced this.
Please let me know how the touchscreen setup works for you.
I’ve been toying with getting one myself. I just haven’t talked myself into it yet ;)

Thank you for the quick reply.
Yes, I use Mixing Station, I forgot to add 😉
Let me clarify: I wanted to bypass the router and connect Ui16 with X Touch directly via RJ45/twisted pair. I will try to use your tip and let you know if it worked 😎 Thank you and greetings from Poland.

That isn’t something you can do unfortunately.
Soundcraft doesn’t support midi devices on its own. You HAVE to use another piece of software to make that work.

The other option you have is to connect your X-touch to Mixing Station on a tablet like an iPad directly with a USB cable.
Then use the tablet to join the Soundcraft wireless hotspot and that will give you control without having to use a router.
But, be warned, if you use that method for a live show, you could encounter network issues.
      Have a look at this:

Hi Samuel, in this configuration you do NOT need osimidi.
Mixing station can provide the same follow functions that osimidi provides.

Hello. Is it possible to connect the Ui16 with X Touch directly via Ethernet?

    • @QuickEZ
      @QuickEZ  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

Hi. Not directly, you do need to use mixing station or another 3rd party software.
But you can do the exact same steps I show in this video and choose your Soundcraft mixer instead of a Behringer mixer.
As long as your Soundcraft is on your network,
Mixing Station will make the connection exactly the same way I just demonstrated.
If you have follow up questions, just let me know.
Thanks for watching and happy mixing!

      Hi NightFever,
what wasn't working for you? if you can elaborate on your steps, I may be able to help.
And yes, if you're connecting via Mixing Station, then you have to use it in MC mode.
      Thanks for watching!

Hi again NightFever, I think you are the same person posting in the facebook group for xtouch controllers. I think your issue is IP related based on what I'm seeing in your other post.
If that is not you, then my apologies.
If it IS you, then your X-Touch extender needs to have an IP address that is different than your original Xtouch. No two devices on the same network can share an address. That causes conflicts, or lack of connection.
I have responded in the facebook group, and I have mentioned additional potential issues regarding your use of two routers and what you need to be aware of regarding your subnet masks.
Again, if that is you, please message me directly on facebook and I can explain further if you are interested.
