Yes those were good times if you were white. . You went to school with all your white pals, no black faces to disgrace your classrooms. You rode the bus with all the other white folks. Nobody made you sit in back. Sat wherever you pleased. Ate in whatever restaurant you wanted to enjoy your meal. So many many ways white people lived their lives without being beaten or shoved away. So yeah im sure your life was simply wonderful back in the 50s

Narrator said it was just one scene, and I remember it. In a dream-type sequence, Lucy is pictured sitting outside Rick’s studio door, holding a baby. THAT was Jerry Mathers. But you’re right-the images shown with Little Ricky showed Richard Keith as Little Ricky, and that was implying it was Mathers.

I still watch the reruns. Ken Osmond, who played Eddie Haskill, was so type cast he couldn’t get work as an actor so he joined the LAPD. Some of his fellow cops ribbed him a bit but he said he enjoyed the work until he was shot chasing a suspect. After a second close call he retired early and went into the home remodeling business. Unfortunately we lost Ken/Eddie much too early. He’s someone I would have enjoyed meeting.

I remember the scene he’s talking about, and when I looked back at an image of it, it does look like Jerry Mathers. In it, little Ricky was older, so they didn’t use Keith Thibodeaux. Lucy was having a daydream about what was to become of her and little Ricky, imagining that Ricky would leave her for the other woman. They were sitting and begging for money, completely destitute, as Ricky and the other lady walked by. Ricky had sympathy on them, and dropped a coin in her jar.

I was 7 to 13 when the show was on the air, so about the age of The Beav. My family was so much like the Cleavers. The show just seemed very normal to me. Dad wore a suit, Mom was dressed nicely, both were calm, honest and wise. Our house was clean and organized. We ate at the dining room table together. My two younger brothers were like Beav and his friends. What can I say, we were The Snyders, but really, we were the Cleavers lol. We all watched the show together. TV was new back then, and it was great.

I was in 3rd grade when the show ended in 1963. I never realized that while I watched the show into my teenage years that I was tuning into reruns, lol. I still watch it with my 35 y/o daughter for both the story lines & the nostalgia of a great era.
I 'm not ignorant, of course, that when the final original show ended, America was about to change rather drastically (e.g., assassination of JFK, Vietnam War & protests/riots, race riots & end of segregation/MLK, sexual revolution/feminist movement, & "them long-haired, pot-smokin', hippies," Elvis' pelvis, & Beetlemania).
"Those were the worst of times ; those were the best of times ." I'm blessed to have had the experiences & the shared memories with my husband of 50 yrs [m. Aug. 24, 1974 to Present] ❤ 🙎🙍‍♂ .

A necessary correction. Jerry Mathers was NOT the baby on I Love Lucy. Keith Thibodeaux, billed as "Richard Keith" was the actor who portrayed Little Ricky. The head shapes are entirely different! For an idea of how a young Jerry Mathers looked, view an old Hitchcock film, "The Trouble With Harry" and Mathers is shown at the beginning of the film.

This video is quite confusing and not well made. The episode the narrator is talking about is “Ricky’s Old Girlfriend”, but the video does not have clips from that episode when it's talking about it. In the episode “Ricky’s Old Girlfriend”, Lucy is having a dream and is sitting in front of a theater as a poor beggar with a little boy on her lap. That boy is Jerry Mathers. Jerry had no lines, he just sat there.
Geez, if you're going to make specific references, how about using the correct matching video to clarify what you're talking about!

The thing that stands out for me now, is that my brother-in-law's name is Ward. He was one of my heroes and was a retired Colonel from the USAF, with the most combat hours in the F-15E at the time he retired. He was killed piloting a single engine Cessna. It appears that the wings snapped mid-flight. But, just hearing them say the name Ward in the video, makes me smile.

Actually, it was Keith Thibodeaux who played little Ricky, NOT Jerry Mathers. Get the facts before giving in correct information.

Jerry Mathers was never in I Love Lucy. It was Richard Keith (real name Keith Thibodeaux): From the age of about 3, Keith Thibodeaux played Little Ricky from 1956 to 1957.

No one lives a perfect life! Shows in this era were to bring a little humor and help you realize tough times don't last. You don't have to be negative all the time - how sad.

Also, in the still shown here, little Ricky is sitting on Desi's lap, not Lucy's! There's more bloopers in this video than there were in the show.
Scarlett O'Hara wasn't born on Peachtree St. because she's a fictional character, she was born in the mind of Margaret Mitchell, who was born there so it makes sense that the character was born there since she's a figment of the writer's imagination.

“Marcus Welby, MARYLAND?” It was MD, as in DOCTOR Marcus Welby---MD. Sometimes this narrator reads these things as though he has no idea what he’s talking about and he’s seeing the material for the first time and is reading it without thinking about what he’s saying.

I liked the episode where Beaver finds the little chihuahua (Poncho). That dog looked just like mine minus the attitude. Beaver could have never bathed my chihuahua without being torn up. I was hoping the lady would let Beaver keep the dog since he loved it so much. I'm a hopeless romantic. 😂

Eddie got nothing wrong. He read the script correctly. The writer is the culprit when the name of the book, Two Years Before the Mask, is mentioned.

Jerry Mathers was in an Episode of I Love Lucy. It was when they were supposedly out on the street begging.
He was sitting on Lucys lap in That scene Not the one the narrator showed us. 🤔
