There's nothing wrong with being on food stamps and using them until they are gone. Then go to your local food pantry because normally your food stamps aren't enough to last all month for food. Thank you for being here and sharing this video and explaining everything to us.

This is such a great haul! I'm so happy you and your kids will have full tummies for a while. All the fresh produce is so great, and you got a lot of meat and beans as well. A tip for the canned chili and stew - those might not be the most tasty things, but you can doctor up the stew by adding more veggies and then serve it over rice for a hot and filling meal. The cans of chili can be used to make nachos, chili dogs, chili cheese dip, or a chili casserole with cornbread on top. Just some ideas to make those items a bit tastier! Enjoy! 😊

I think any one on food stamps like I am also getting them, are usually out by this time of the month. I'm kind of like you as Im out of food stamps, I think that I have around 83 cents in my wallet, and my gas tank in the car is almost full. The best part of all of this is that we are both thankful for what we do have and how we can get help.

We always put that beef stew over either instant mashed potatoes or rice; yum! That way one can can easily feed and fill up 4 people. And we make the mac and cheese, mix it with the canned chili for a meal and have a can of green beans on the side. You could use the corn flakes to either make marshmallow treats (yes they work) or to bread your chicken to fry it. You cant go wrong with peanut butter cookies or apple crisp. It might be wise for you to sit down and figure out how many meals you can make with what you received and write as a menu on the fridge and also tell the kids what is off limits. That way the kids dont go ham and eat everything that you would have used for actual meals, and your food will go much farther. Once I started doing that, I found my food shelf stuff lasted longer and we were able to make full meals rather than just snacking and eating up all the good stuff and then being left with the canned veggies, fruits and some hot dogs with no buns for the rest of the month lol.
Never ever feel like you have to explain being healthy! Anyone should understand that eating healthy is the best way to save money - we’re all one illness away from crippling debt. Taking care of yourself is crucial to living within your means!!! 🖤🖤
I know many seniors that are on assignments because their retirement check doesn't stretch far enough. Everything we need to live had gone up so much in price. It's ridiculous to me
As I've said before, I'm 71 years old and live alone. I live only on my Social Security check. I get the minimum that they allow because I wasn't able to work for 16 years due to a disability. I'm not ashamed to say that I have been on food stamps from then and I still am. No one should ever be ashamed for being on assistance to help make ends meet and to eat good meals.
This is so true, and I’m glad you’ve been able to get some help you needed. I think a good bit of people have too much pride to ask for help then get upset when other people do because they’re struggling. I’m glad you’ve done what you needed for you. ❤️
I wish that our food banks would be a good as yours. We get one meat item, hardly any produce, if we do it's a couple of potatoes and a couple carrots. We get half a gallon of 1% milk, one stick of butter, and 4 slices of cheese. We get a can of corn, green beans, can of mixed fruit, and 1 can of soup. I am thankful for that because every little bit helps.

We have little food pantry that are family used. There is one in town of 5,000 so there is a lot of need. We ate what was in the box. It is meant to supplement your meals with stuff you already have. These videos give people the mistaken impression that. They should be getting a lot meat and produce which is not the way this works. They give what is donated to them. It is impossible for them to meet every family needs. So they give less food to feed more people. With the economy the way it is. More people need help. My suggestion is encourage people who have the money to donate.
I also save grocery bags for my garbage cans in my living room, upstairs bathroom, basement bathroom, and my bedroom. One nice thing, they are free and come very handy. Why buy garbage bags when you can use something else that works just as good.

Check your local rocky beaches asparagus grows wild. I usually pick it last of may then in September I pick the seeds and I have planted them now I have it growing on my property. I’m in Nova Scotia Canada so growing time might be a little different
I thrift everything. I always tell my family to put on my headstone “ she never paid retail “ lol. I also sell online. When I thrift I will pick up a couple extra items to sell. Once I sell them my entire haul becomes free. Let’s say I spend $25 but I sell 2 items for $15. Not only was my haul free but I make something. Sometimes I shop just to resale. Times are hard so I don’t mark them way up. I try to get $10-$12 per item. And I’ll keep my cost to around 1 to 2 dollars. 💵 occasionally I will find something thrifting that I can sell for $20-25 and I have sold $50 items before. I just sold a large nativity for $65 dollars and paid $5 for. But I knew it was a good price to pay to resale. The family who bought it are very excited. They also paid $25 for shipping. I aways charge shipping. The food haul is awesome! Seeing the apples made me want cinnamon apples. My grandmother and I would make fired apple pies. But I love them boiled and the smell! Yummy ! I’m glad you are making it. I pray things improve financially for you. 🙏🏻

You must of popped up on my feed because I was just looking up Food Pantries. I was getting food snaps but they were just decreased to $23 a month. I live on SS and that doesn't even cover all my bills. Really worried but I am going to start going to Food pantries. I do have a question, do you just drive up or do you have to sign up for it?

make your apt NOW dont wait until you have no food at all. Go now and freeze it so you can be a week or two ahead of the game. Food shelves dont usually give you enough to feed your family 3 meals a day for a month. Typically the once a month food shelf will give you enough for a week worth of dinners.
One thing I don’t like about food pantry is that you can’t go pick what you like. They only give you what’s available, especially waiting on lone lines.
I feel no matter what income a person makes we should try to eat better. Taking care of our health is important . Fewer visits to the doctors. I understand what your saying about sugar and also red dyes those do effect kids and adults. I think it is great that you are a mom that even if your income is low and some things are a tad more if you use your footstamps to feed all you more healthy, then run out and have to go to the food pantry there is no reason to feel guilty. Food is not cheap not even junk food. People use to say it cost more to eat healthy well not really you can find bargins.
thats a good haul and no shame taking whatever help and extra food and stuff you van get because this world is getting hard to live in and even harder with kids but as long as you got a roof over your head and food for the belly then who cares what people think and i was always wondering how the food stamps work in the states we don't have them here in canada .
@@24prm Just so you know, as long as you store your pasta, cereal and rice in air tight packaging, there is no need to freeze them and they will last for years. The cereal will start to go stale once opened but can also go long after the best by date.
It’s funny because people complain if you are on fs and buy junk food. They just like to complain 🤣🤣🤣🤣 my son has Autism so I feel ya. Food pantries are amazing to help. When people start complaining about what you buy or eat, just tell them…when I want your opinion, I will give it to you 🤣🤣🤣🤣

You must of popped up on my feed because I was just looking up Food Pantries. I was getting food snaps but they were just decreased to $23 a month. I live on SS and that doesn't even cover all my bills. Really worried but I am going to start going to Food pantries. I do have a question, do you just drive up or do you have to sign up for it?
They're all different. Do you know how to get in touch with your local one? I would just search food pantry near --------
This is what I did, once you go to one they’ll usually let you know about the other local food banks.

make your apt NOW dont wait until you have no food at all. Go now and freeze it so you can be a week or two ahead of the game. Food shelves dont usually give you enough to feed your family 3 meals a day for a month. Typically the once a month food shelf will give you enough for a week worth of dinners.
One thing I don’t like about food pantry is that you can’t go pick what you like. They only give you what’s available, especially waiting on lone lines.

I feel no matter what income a person makes we should try to eat better. Taking care of our health is important . Fewer visits to the doctors. I understand what your saying about sugar and also red dyes those do effect kids and adults. I think it is great that you are a mom that even if your income is low and some things are a tad more if you use your footstamps to feed all you more healthy, then run out and have to go to the food pantry there is no reason to feel guilty. Food is not cheap not even junk food. People use to say it cost more to eat healthy well not really you can find bargins.

thats a good haul and no shame taking whatever help and extra food and stuff you van get because this world is getting hard to live in and even harder with kids but as long as you got a roof over your head and food for the belly then who cares what people think and i was always wondering how the food stamps work in the states we don't have them here in canada .

@@24prm Just so you know, as long as you store your pasta, cereal and rice in air tight packaging, there is no need to freeze them and they will last for years. The cereal will start to go stale once opened but can also go long after the best by date.
It’s funny because people complain if you are on fs and buy junk food. They just like to complain 🤣🤣🤣🤣 my son has Autism so I feel ya. Food pantries are amazing to help. When people start complaining about what you buy or eat, just tell them…when I want your opinion, I will give it to you 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I wish someone could help me understand how you have money to spend on tattoos but not enough to feed your children. I have no problem with food banks and ebt but come on people, wake up no one owes you anything. And no, you do not deserve nice things, you need to work for the money to buy them.
It’s simple, I got lots of tattoos in my early 20s before I had children.
I do deserve little luxuries, everyone does. I’m not sure if you’re aware of this or not but there’s this thing called hidden disabilities. Maybe look it up sometime if you’re confused by it.

When you are old enough for Social Security and Medicare. My guess that your thoughts on receiving what taxes you paid into the system. You will think you are very worthy. She pays taxes the same as you do she is receiving help. By system she pays into. Bully and hypocrite.
