Of course parents want to provide them the very best nutrition - that's a given. But some days are so hard, and some kids are just more challenging. So fed is best! As long as they are eating *something, you are doing a fantastic job, mama! Give yourself that grace. A full belly is always better than an empty one. Anyone who judges you for letting the girls have ramen noodles or sugar cereal literally doesn't know much about kids tbh, and also doesn't have any right to judge anybody for feeding. their. kids. I wish I knew of some nice ones with evening hours near me. 😢 tip on cat litter: at Walmart, they have their scoop able scented store brand for like 8 bucks, I also buy a cheap plain clay non clumping bag for 2 bucks and I mix the two. It lasts me almost 2 weeks, with scooping every 2 days. Try it! God will be with you in court. Keep asking him to guide your words and your mind. That you speak what needs to be heard for the betterment of your lives. Amen!

Clumping litter would probably be better. Thats what we use. We just scoop daily and it never leaves a smell in our home. Just sharing that thought with you.
As far as the cat litter goes buy baking soda( large box. it use to be alright to buy it on food stamps) put a layer of it on the bottom of the litter pan before the litter instead of the smell going out of pan it pulls it back in ( I have a cat rescue so I know it works) Baking Soda can be used for MANY things, to refresh the fridge and freezer, upset tummies( as long as it does not mess up certain meds) washing clothes (gives that extra oof) hand washing dishes, rugs, chiggar bites and it does windows and bathrooms. I use it and white vinegar for everything.
I'm allergic to gluten and dairy. I buy my almond milk from the dollar store. It's the shelf stable kind. So I keep a couple containers on hand for cooking and putting on my cereal. I get the unsweetened almond milk. It's really good and only 1.25 a pkg. And its shelf stable so you dont have to refrigerate it till you are going to use it.
Also remember, breakfast for dinner is always a winner. I loved it as a kid. Still love it as an adult. And remember. Breakfast can be homemade pancakes. It doesn't always have to be expensive eggs and meats. I add hamburger to potatoes and make hash. Add a little cheese, real or plant based. I also have always had food texture problems. So there are things I can't eat. But I try to work around that. It's doable. And when I was a kid. Sugar cereal was a treat. Cause my mom always bought the cheaper cereal that wasn't sugared. My mom made pretty much all our foods from scratch. And what she made we ate. We didnt have money when I was growing up. But really, we kids didn't know that. My sister and I feel we had a great childhood. We lived out in the country and got the freedom of living like that. I feel really lucky. Might not had the fancy clothes etc. But we always had a full belly. My mom made our clothes. And we always had shoes to wear. Mom made our birthdays special. And she always made sure, through Christmas club saving. That our Christmas was fun and special. Mom could really stretch money for presents. I don't know how she did it.

Litter boxes are not my thing either. I use pine pellets from tractor supply. They are $7 for a 40lb bag. The best part is that the pine absorbs the smell. It does work better if your area is not too humid because it will absorb moisture from the air and break down quicker.

Have you ever considered making your own bees wax cloths? You might be able to find a bees wax candle cheap at a thrift store. Otherwise, you can reuse fabric from a pillowcase, old sheet or an old shirt. My daughter is also on the autism spectrum. She is now an adult, but receives disability. Food has been an issue since she was young. She goes through phases of loving something then refusing to eat it. Very frustrating! Anyways, you can make a lo mein stir-fry with the ramen. Great way to make a cheap item into a healthy, delicious meal!

Baking soda and diatomaceous earth are great for cat urine odor. I just learned about it. It works, I own 6 cats. De I get at tractor supply for 40 lbs. it lasts a long time for the money. The family court system is never on a single mom’s side unfortunately. It is a man’s world in the court system and you will have to advocate for your children. Keep your emotions in check in court, that’s the first thing the judge will pick apart. Heads up, good luck and stay calm.

There are a couple kids in my sons Boy Scout troop who’s mom is a judge. I swear I feel like she is judging me when I walk not every meeting and I never met her before her son joined about 9 mos ago lol. Haha a judging judge 🤣🤣🤣🤣 remember, feeding your kids is what counts. It’s nobody’s place to tell you what to feed your kids. As someone else said, fed is best. Just like the old argument about breast is best. Again, fed is best. My son is on the spectrum. Getting him to eat when he was little was like pulling a thorn out of a charging warthog with a toothache. I had to get creative just to get protein and fruits into him. Thankfully peanut butter was one of his safe foods and he loves whole wheat bread. They have wic here in California so I do believe it is throughout the USA. Thrift stores are amazing resources. You can get some amazing deals there. Does your state have the fruit and veggie initiative for EBT? Best of luck in court.
