Agreed. Not setting up the ride's story as going through the movie, where we would have Falcifer in key points. They instead set the story after the movie. So no Falcifer and only one showing of her husband at the end. Not really fond of the animation screens. Made the ride look bland at some points.

I was very "close" with Brer Bear back in the day and this location is very near and dear to my heart. As Walt once said "As long as there's imagination left in the world, Disneyland will never be complete." I believe this now goes for WDW. I do understand it was time to bring in a new attraction, but that attraction needs to be better than the one before. I knew every inch of Splash and it was all filled with excitement around every corner. What I saw from this video was a few characters placed here and there, with a lot of dark areas, to me that seems like they really didn't have anything to fill an area with and if you make it dark and put in one or two thing to focus on nobody will notice the empty space, but sorry I did. Where the laughing place was, ummmm yea it seems like a wasted space with just videos. The ending seems very small and it could be the video, but does not stand up to the showboat at all. I really hope it wins over the hearts of the Splash lovers and is successful, but as of right now it has not won mine.
And for true Tiana fans, they respect the fact that she worked hard and didn't go to the parties because she was making money so she could buy her restaurant. They're focusing on parties and finding critters to play in a band with an alligator so he doesn't have to be the only animal in the jazz band.this ride is really lame and very big insult to Tiana.
I mean, the movie even showed her friends trying to get her to go out and have fun with them and she didn't because she wanted more money she was almost there almost at her dream. I don't think her dream was putting on a skipper costume and being the CEO of a hot sauce company and a food co-op.

To quote the actual MOVIE Princess and the Frog, (Which does NOT deserve to be associated with this dumpster fire) "You got what you wanted, but you lost what you had"
The new animatronics look great but I'm still pretty disappointed with the removal of the Br'er characters. Of course, the biggest let-down was the ending. _The removal of Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah is a crime against humanity._
@@TELEVISIONARCHIVES No it wasn't. Please explain what was racist about the original Splash Mountain. Not the Song of the South Film but Splash Mountain the ride.
Lead imagineer Tony Baxter who created this ride worked with black groups to insure nothing racist was put in the ride. But people in the last 6 or so years have become so emotional about any little thing a d everything seems racist now. It's nuts!
They should added some more animatronics and it looks like it’s very empty😕 and they should add the voodoo Man song for the drop Hill scene it’ll be awesome
I really don't like how there's sunlight entering the show scene at 5:27, especially since it's supposed to be a night scene. They should've covered it up completely like they did with Tokyo's Splash
Perfect theme for frontierland because Louisiana is out west with all the rocks and mountains and princesses really go with the frontierland Theme too!
Ok....Farewell to Brare Rabbit. The replacement will have to grow on me for now. Not going to pay extra to wait in line for it. I'll reserve that for E ticket rides. This gets a B ticket rating from me.
They had so many animatronics on Splash Mountain, I figured they would have reused a bunch of them and then added Tiana, but they literally took everything out and put all new ones in. It looks like they haven’t reused/repurposed a single one from the original ride. I’m sure they did, but I am shocked to see how many dark spaces and animation screens they put up
If someone ever makes a video of nice, still, and closer looks at all the animatronics on the ride saying all of their lines (because I know for a fact they all have multiple lines and not just the ones we see here), that’d be amazing!!
I am not sure how I feel about this. I would like to have heard the ride soundtrack. Also, no Dr. Facilier? It seemed a little lack luster. I am sure it will be better in person - I kind of expected to see Louis on the boat playing with Naveen and the band lol. I am also sure the lights will be very pretty in person. Sorry you broke down. I hope they work that out before this opens.
They made it less thrilling, removed numerous animatronics and did not replace them with new ones. The scene before the big drop is all screens now, that used to be the biggest show scene. Is it just me or do some of those band animatronics look REALLY bad? Like worse that Chuckie Cheese bad? All they had to do was make all the show scenes bigger than Splash Mountain, instead they made them smaller and used screens. How can you go cheap like this with Epic Universe coming for them?
If I had never ridden Splash Mountain or seen princess and the frog.... I might have liked this ride. But I have done both... there's no suspense for the lift hill. It would have been more interesting to been turned into frogs by dr. facilier and then mama turning us back on the lift hill
It's a pretty basic reskinning of the old ride and I was hoping for more. No reworking of space, just a new coat of paint. There is a surprising lack of New Orleans design cues in the ride. It looks fine but it feels like a junior varsity effort.
Splash mountain didn’t need a plot, you could follow along easily without knowing any history. This you kind of need to know the story. I also find it weird that New Orleans has mountains etc as I am quite sure that REAL New Orleans highest point is 27m above sea level.
I really want to love it. The color is great. The animatronics are good. Ive watched a few different ride throughs and its very pretty. But a little more tension in the story would improve the ride a lot. Don't get me wrong, I dont mind the story change and it's still good. Log rides are always a blast. But it could be great with just a bit more tension in the storytelling.
Because they will get copyright fines. The music is copyrighted and monetized TH-camr cannot play copyrighted music without paying licensing fees. So it will get shut down.
Hard to tell the storyline from the video without getting all the attraction audio... The animatronics look fantastic! I'm not sure how familiar you are\were with Splash Mountain... but I'm curious if any Easter Eggs jumped out at you. I can imagine there's a zillion places where they could put little nods to Splash..
@@glennrichey136 Yeah, in one of the scenes there is a mini chik-a-pin hill tree stump (right after the first critter band scene), and you can see Louis stuck in a log at one point (which I have heard is a reference to Br’er Bear)
I will forever love Splash Mountain and will sing Zippy-di-do-da. But this is not a bad replacement. The Animatronics looks amazing! :) (EDIT) I know alot of people are going to hate it at first. But give it a chance. Maybe Disney will improve it over time. It's still in it's early stages. I had the same feeling when they replace The Great Movie Ride. At least I was lucky enough to ride first and last time and It's great! The new replacement for it is not half bad. I hated the replacement at first, but over time It slowly grew on me and I think's it looks impressive. At least there's videos of Splash Mountain online now for folks to remember it by. So chill out, folks. Like I said... Just give it a chance...
Thanks for the vid, nice to see it in the small bits if daylight outside. But still, underwhelming with a lack of story, empy spaces and no build up. Were we looking for food or for band members? Why was prince Naveen pushed to the side when he is the one who can play an instrument??? And of course, the music doesn't compare to Splash Mountains. Should have left Splash alone 💔💔💔
What a missed opportunity. The ride should have had the villain from the movie Dr. Facilier (the shadowman) and had him send riders flying down the river. It would have made for a better story and higher tension for the flume drops. A small nitpick I have too is that they could have incorporated hand drawn animation for the animated segments to match the original look and feel of the film.
Unfortunately, the way TH-cam works is that it won’t allow you to upload copyrighted music at all, so you have change the audio, hope that helps for context.
They truly did a spectacular job with the animatronics and the set ups. The music is fun and I look forward to riding it (probably won’t be for another couple of years) cause I just got back from Disney. I agree that the story is kinda lacking
And here it is. The most “woke” ride in the history of the Walt Disney Company. They took out a spirited classic Splash Mountain with memorable songs and characters because screaming mob called “Song of the South” racist! And replaced it with a mediocre ride from a mediocre movie nobody remembers. Meanwhile right across the street is a Hall of Presidents loaded with racist men who kidnapped, tortured, even killed innocent black humans. And that is A-ok! Oh the hypocrisy of it all!
I smell Chapek all over this. I bet Imagineering is leaving some things untouched because they want to hear feedback before they complete it? Maybe? 😂 the lighting is great! Haha how do you not include a villain on a dark ride? 😅
Princess and the frog is one of my absolute favorite Disney movies. Do I like this more than splash? No. I grew up with splash (ca) and it just can’t be replaced. The storyline of this makes no sense and it seems super empty. Some people will argue that song of the south is racist and that the animatronics for this are better but they really aren’t. They have no charm compared to the old ones and splash itself wasn’t racist. I also don’t like the screens being incorporated, it looks like every other soulless modern ride. I really hoped it would be better but ever since they first announced the remodel I said it wouldn’t be as good as the og and it looks like I was right. There’s no suspense or fear or anything to make it fun. I liked it growing up because of how scared it made me, kinda like Snow White and all the other fantasyland rides. Ever since Disney went woke it’s gone nowhere but downhill, and this is coming from a 15 year old. I refuse to fall into modernity with all this coddling and whatnot.
No wonder it didn’t take too long to refurb this ride, doesn’t look much different than before. Too much gaps and nothing happening. I’m sure it’ll be better once you’re on the ride though.
I soooooooooo wanted this to be good. Like, good enough to feel SLIGHTLY better about losing Splash Mountain. Like, if we have to lose the iconic ride, at least make the replacement epic. Iam so disappointed.
For one: Don't trash it without giving it a review of what's good. For example: the ride is excellently done. The animatronics are fluid, very well done, and if you ACTUALLY pay attention, the story is pretty good. And let's not act like splash mountain had a comprehensive story that made sense if you thought about it for more than two seconds. Why do you go to the laughing place? Did you go down there by yourself? The fact is that it was so odd... like it was just a storybook ride that happened to have you on it rather than a story you're apart of. The reason you go small is to find the ingredients, which is SO much better than joining Brer Rabbit I guess? Also: nostalgia isn't a blinder to pretend that song of the south wasn't racist, and the idea to celebrate the ride is... outdated as hell. Also, don't act like you guys wouldn't complain if they used the plot of the movie, because that's the only way you're getting "are you ready" because like... it wouldn't make any real sense. I feel like making a new story is SO much better than just using the old one. I'm sorry, but acting like this ride is bad is just... nostalgia blinded. Also, be careful with your wording: A lot of you are seeming racist as HELL. In summary: shut up, you're 33, go to your job and stop caring so much about fucking Disney.
Except the story has no inherent thrill, excitement, peril, etc...which is a pretty major problem for a major thrill ride with a 50 foot drop at the end. Splash Mountain's story, basic as it was, worked with the ride to make the final drop feel much more dramatic and exciting. Here, the final drop just...appears for no real reason.
Looks mediocre at best & the music is worse! Another reason to skip disney! No imagination ... $24,700,000 for this rubbish! Boring & plain, but disney shills will praise it!😂

I especially loved the parts of the ride that had dead space
And the painted fences with the fruit
I wasn’t impressed.. if I’ve never seen the movie I wouldn’t understand what was the story was about other than going to a party.
To the grand total of 5 people who begged Disney to replace Splash Mountain, was this really worth it?? You got what you wanted, no doubt you're already on your way to ruin something else now. Y'all are a plague on the entertainment industry.
Lmao crying about an outdated IP
@@lynnwebb678 maybe you shouldn’t go to Disney considering a lot of the ride animatronics predates splash mountain.
@@lynnwebb678 You mean like 90% of the IPs at Magic Kingdom?
To quote the actual MOVIE Princess and the Frog, (Which does NOT deserve to be associated with this dumpster fire) "You got what you wanted, but you lost what you had"

…yea I’m going to japan Disney land to ride splash mountain 😂…hard pass on this
Sure you are.. 🤣
Same here! It will be a big change from Disneywolrd but we are looking forward to it 😊❤
Yesss…At this point from the looks of this ride it’s so worth it
@@hotcheetofan Why not? It's honestly saving money, their park admission prices are cheaper
The new animatronics look great but I'm still pretty disappointed with the removal of the Br'er characters. Of course, the biggest let-down was the ending. _The removal of Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah is a crime against humanity._
The old ride was racist
So they say but to this “woke” era everything is racist including pancake syrup if I sneeze wrong people will say I’m racist
@@TELEVISIONARCHIVES the movie was, the ride wasn’t. Don’t even try that crap
Disney destroyed a GREAT entertaining and musical ride for this, no wonder DISNEY is loosing money what a disgrace!!!!!
Losing BILLIONS!
The Oriental Land Company needs to take control of the US parks.
No kids watched Song of the South dude
Thanks! Don’t need to go to the park to see this!
As a native New Orleanian, I find this ride inaccurate, monotonous and offensive
10:32 WHAT ARE WE FALLING INTO....
From what I can tell, falling down the slope made us grow and now we made it in time for Tiana's party. My opinion on this is....Meh.
They literally failed miserably on this ride!!! Wow. It’s bad. Really bad!
I kinda like the themeing but it just feels so off that brer fox and brer bear and Brer Rabbit aren’t there
They had so many animatronics on Splash Mountain, I figured they would have reused a bunch of them and then added Tiana, but they literally took everything out and put all new ones in. It looks like they haven’t reused/repurposed a single one from the original ride. I’m sure they did, but I am shocked to see how many dark spaces and animation screens they put up
Trash Mountain
I know right
Genuinely so sad to see what they did to Splash
@sealy1 yeah it is kinda sad to see it fall
thankfully that’s gone

What. A. Mean. Hater/Buffalo Butt. UGGGGGGGGH
Much as I'd love to embrace this new ride..... and despite incredible music, animatronics and effects.... it seems a fraction of what once was.
If someone ever makes a video of nice, still, and closer looks at all the animatronics on the ride saying all of their lines (because I know for a fact they all have multiple lines and not just the ones we see here), that’d be amazing!!
wheres the adventure aspect? why is it called an adventure? and who could possibly think this is worth getting rid of splash mountain!?
Disney cultists that's who! I was one but I'm a realist, this ride is bad.
Missed opportunity to add Dr Facilier the lower end section before the final drop
The ride seems empty to the point of them turning out lights to hide empty scenes. Makes me sad tbh. I think Walt would be sad too.
So many empty spaces with literally NOTHING 😢
But it could be great with just a bit more tension in the storytelling.
why have looping background music over the ride soundtrack?
Because they will get copyright fines. The music is copyrighted and monetized TH-camr cannot play copyrighted music without paying licensing fees. So it will get shut down.
Was the sound track that bad in person?
He added his own music soundtrack in place of what's on the ride...
Probably due to copyright issues.
NO THE BOAT IS GONE “BOB IGER YOU FORGOT SOMETHING”
What a downgrade. Thx for the video though.
looking good jake! ride it twice for stella!
- got to ride tianas bayou adventure early
- got evaluated off of tianas bayou adventure
- got free icecream
... life isint fair
I had high hopes. 2-3 hour wait for no Shadow/Voodoo man? The fuck.
Any Easter Eggs would acknowledge the existence of Splash and therefore be racist...according to Disney's logic.
@@SirBuzzthey do have references I dunno what you mean.
@@JavaCakedo they?
@@glennrichey136 Yeah, in one of the scenes there is a mini chik-a-pin hill tree stump (right after the first critter band scene), and you can see Louis stuck in a log at one point (which I have heard is a reference to Br’er Bear)
This is at night. The dark hides a lot of things. How will it look at noon?
Can you try again again?
I can't believe we get to witness this with you Tiana is my favorite princess so I am excited to watch this
Splash mountain was so much better
I was at the end of the ride when it broke down
Wow! It is awful!
I will forever love Splash Mountain and will sing Zippy-di-do-da. But this is not a bad replacement. The Animatronics looks amazing! :)
(EDIT) I know alot of people are going to hate it at first.
Well done on the video
They should have made this Moana
Thanks for the vid, nice to see it in the small bits if daylight outside. But still, underwhelming with a lack of story, empy spaces and no build up. Were we looking for food or for band members? Why was prince Naveen pushed to the side when he is the one who can play an instrument??? And of course, the music doesn't compare to Splash Mountains. Should have left Splash alone 💔💔💔
Amen!
WTFUDGE😂😂!! Nope!! NO THANKS!! this was suppose to be BETTER??🤣🤣!! RIP!!!!
This ride sucks now
Can you remove the background music so we can hear the ride audio better? Thanks!
Unfortunately, the way TH-cam works is that it won’t allow you to upload copyrighted music at all, so you have change the audio, hope that helps for context.
Disney Parks has the full POV with full audio on TH-cam.
They truly did a spectacular job with the animatronics and the set ups. The music is fun and I look forward to riding it (probably won’t be for another couple of years) cause I just got back from Disney. I agree that the story is kinda lacking
They succeed on making worst... Terrible storyline... No villain... Empty spaces... Sad...
Wasn't cheap it gone before they even started doing it?
The background music sounds a lot better than the actual ride soundtrack, lol. I'm dead serious. Especially at the beginning before the first drop.
Just no! ☹️
Will miss splash mountain
What a downgrade…
I think this is so cheap.
And not one reference of Dr Facilier. Smh

I soooooooooo wanted this to be good. Like, good enough to feel SLIGHTLY better about losing Splash Mountain. Like, if we have to lose the iconic ride, at least make the replacement epic. Iam so disappointed.
Blue skies and sunshine, guaranteed!
This is bad
Most of its dark space with nothing going on.
no it’s really good. will miss splash though
This is absolute garbage through and through.
Your right
It’s so bad. Fucking imagineers ruined one of the best rides ever
It looks very pretty but kinda underwhelming which i really really didnt wanna say..still gonna ride it at least once for the experience tho
Boring & plain, but disney shills will praise it!😂
Thank you but Why are you playing your stupid music throughout? Why can’t we hear the music from the ride.
Seriously what's happening with Disney, it's going from bad to worse
Boring storyline, boring soundtrack and boring theming! Zip a do dee dah and Laughin' place will be in my heart forever!
Are you sure you were allowed to film during the preview? They didn't seem to stop you from doing so.
My daughters are going to love this. It’s aimed exactly at who it should be and not the whinny adults who can’t let Splash Mountain go
Shut up u cancel culture supporter. Where's the conflict the tension on the lift it's gone u can smear the look of the slave mine but let the splash mountain fans be. I bet u said the same thing regarding TGMR.
Um exactly its less then Splash Mountain because you think screens should exist
Splash mountain was a beautiful feat of engineering. If you think this ride is good, wake up. Realize what this replaced.
your kids have zero taste then and love garbage
This absolutely *****!... Boring, hate the music all the dead space...Splash Mountain was full of life.. Disney going WOKE and this is what you get..
What’s with that dumb background music and not play the original music from the ride!?
Yeah, so the way TH-cam works is that it won’t allow you to upload copyrighted music at all, so you have change the audio, hope that helps for context.
