That cover for The Brothers Karamazov is hilarious 😂
I am so thrilled that you filmed so many videos together! Thank you :)
Thank *you* for watching them!
I think Carolyn nailed it because she's an illustrator and she must had seen these covers at some point in her life to get inspiration for her own artwork.
Very true, but there were also a few I hadn’t seen before 😊
That cover of _The Brothers Karamazov_ would make me think that the book was about two brothers with a TH-cam channel. 😄
It's hard to believe that your wardrobes weren't planned. Imagine if you grew up next door to each other. Great minds melding. Love it!
They actually were planned 😂
Penguin and Oxford use real real art for most of their classics editions and you could discuss whether the publisher/designer matched the text to the art successfully. Would be a fun video to watch as well.
In some instances Penguin has actually used the same artwork for different texts.
@@shalommannequinomg true. I noticed Penguin did this for ‘The Poems of Emily Brontë’ as it’s the same cover ‘The Woodlanders’ by Thomas Hardy
I LOVE love love love looking through different book covers. I've been so annoyed when a bookstore sent me a random edition, very different to the one I had purchased, when I had specifically shopped around and ordered that specific edition/cover.
If only Dostoyevsky had seen the cover, he would have regretted writing his magnum opus.
I love that the two of you are matching with your outfits!
I love how quickly Carolyn got so many of these covers.
That Brothers Karamazov cover is something else! 😂😂😂
oh my gosh Emma HAS to read the secret garden! it's the epitome of cottage core and strong friendships. God I loved that story and movie as a kid. also a little princess! I have a stunning bind up copy of both. I might have to read them again now
Agreed!!
I’m reading it right now and I find it so sweet!
You both are such a lovely "Dynamic Duo" . Entertaining and fun. That was a blast to watch.
So glad you enjoyed watching :)
Your juxtaposition together is gorgeous, love the synergy between you two
You both are so refreshing to watch and I really had fun with this!!
I wouldn't have guessed A Midsummer Nights Dream. I knew that cover was a Chagall painting though.
Ooo I did not know that, very impressed :)
I barely had time to recognize the arc-de-triomphe, that you'd already guessed Les Mis and I'm literally french 😂
😂
I love that your outfits match!
Don Quixote is much more than a comedy. It is very funny but there are some great philosophical moments as well, the unreliable narrator that changes suddenly...It's brilliant!
That Midsummer Night's Dream cover is so creepy. 😂
It is 😂
Love the chaotic energy
Good job, Carolyn! Now, Emma has to visit you for more amazing videos like that ❤😊!
Nice job, Carolyn!
You're really a pro at this🥳
You are both delightful
what a lovely surprise, i knew halfish of them but carolyn *applause*
😊
Poor Emma. Her's were so easy but Carolyn's was brutal 😂😂😂
I know 🙈 sorry Emma 😂

I love your friendship!! Thank you for keeping me company ❤️
You guys are goals I love you both so much 💖💖💖
💖💖💖
I’m currently reading the secret garden and I’m liking it 💜
i love these videos, so much!!
I’m so glad 😊
That brothers karamazov book cover only belongs to one book and that is Heartstopper.
9:42 My reaction always when your friend says she did not read X classic. LOL
Keep up all the good content❤😂
9:58 Carolyn and the monkey staring straight into the camera😂
I got The Secret Garden and Animal farm ONLY! You're amazing at getting those covers though!! Wow!
I'm not getting many from the picture but upon hearing the answer I'm like "Oh yeah - I see it!"
I imagined "Brokeback Mountain" so when you said, "The Brothers Karamazov" I was so happy as I hate that book.
This was fun. It was like my sister who is a genius was trying to make the task easy for me, but then she shouldn't have as this girl is a master rememberer of images.
Hii! Ive been cleaning for hours and just bings listening to both you and emma’s channel. Can’t wait to watch the video. i have a question regarding annotations, i noticed (you and emma) sometimes you annotate the books and sometimes you don’t. So i was wondering how you choose which books to annotate and why?
A vow the borealis on our wrist.
We blink the way the headless horseman rides;
how pounds the heart! his gallop on the bridge.
Commitments tame the dreadful course of Time.
A bower parodies the guillotine.
There, couples smile while cheating Death
with bowed foreheads and lips about to meet
where in Love’s kiss eternity is fetched.
This bond assists the newlywed’s escape,
and laughing at the hooves behind their backs.
The horseman’s tricked to stop at thrown bouquets,
and at the graveyard groove they hide at last.
With quiet giggling behind tombstones,
two hands between two tombstones still eloped.
Those secret garden eyes 👀👀👀😅
I have the war and peace in the clothbound edition and the book is good
❤
Emma needs to read the Secret Garden pronto!
💛💛💛💛
I just bought both Anna Karenina and War and Peace yesterday, and my guess for it was wrong (I also guessed it was Anna karenina) 😂
My favourite covers are normally paintings or illustrations (preferably with nature) that reflect the story overall. I like penguin popular classics and Oxford world's classics covers. I don't really like modern covers or portraits for classics.
I own most of my classics in either clothbound edition or in the vintage edition (those with the red spine) so I only guessed a few of these. I usually go for the prettiest cover and I don't really love a lot of the classical painting ones. I just don't love having people on book covers.
Have you guys read India Holton's books?
Love it 😂😂
So glad 😂
@@CarolynMarieReads you two are a tonic x
Holy hell, I'm glad I'm not the one who had to do the challenge. Only got a couple, lmao. 😂
Wow I'm so proud of myself to guess that hideous Brother's Karamazov cover
I only got 6 right hehe c:
Our heroines have similar erudition, love of literature, and cute outfits!
Oh girl on the right is _wordcel_ and left girl is _shape-rotator_
❤👌👍😂❤️
Bonus: that was Anthony Briggs translation of War and Peace
The Brothers Karamazov cover is so stupid with the modern stove hood and fan in the background. It really pulls in the vibe of the Russian countryside.
I got 4 right 😂
Amazing 😂👏
im embarrassed to say that i guessed the brothers karamazov correctly😅
Definitely not sharing how many I got. Not even if you torture me. Nope. Not happening. 🙊
😂
Does Carolyn use "Dr." already? She really should.
Wait.. The Secret Garden with Maggie Smith? Emma has never seen it??? Or is there another one? That was and still is one of my favorite movies.. but there is that one scene that I always cried when it happened.. and now as a mom I just cant watch it anymore. It haunts me. I read the book about 2 years ago and wasnt the biggest fan. Also, speaking of Maggie Smith.. since she was also in the Harry Potter movies... as soon as I saw you two in your beautiful navy blue tops, I imagined you two to be the super intelligent Ravenclaw besties I wish I could be friends with but I am definitely not on your level😅 Happy Reading!
I low key hate when a cover is just a portrait. It gives me zero information about the book. It's maybe acceptable if the title is at least a person's name.
I wish you would put the title on the screen, or in the description box. I can't understand what you are saying
