That's exactly what I would do. Change to Minn Kota Control board. I probably would just paint over the led lights on the top, essentially dimming them. Right there with you though as far as already knowing when the batteries are dying down. Good luck and great video Dustin.
Thanks good straight up review. You might want to look into a pwm for speed control. I have sean people put stern mounted motors on a hindged bracket so if the hit something it popped up. Thank you
If you're fishing on one tree or something, catching crappie or whatever and your boat moves it's nice to have forward and reverse. So you're not spinning the thing around and reaching past it to grab the handle.
I just ordered one for my bow fishing boat to go on wish I'd saw your video before thanks I stay with my minn kota I pilot trying get away from the foot stear and open the front of my boat a lil more

@@DustinApple , Thanks for your velcro idea. l wrapped a zip tie, it works just as good. Left it just loose enough to wiggle it down and out of the way, when needed. Our Newport Vessel 55 lbs. pushes my gf and l on our 14' Scout SS Canoe faster than we ever care to go. Amazon has it for $167 .... I'm shocked that all this from a reputable company who stands by their product 100%.
I bought one or these after the first video. 1st troller lasted 5 trips then burnt up. Sent it back cause it was stil under the 30 day warranty. 2nd one so far has lasted 5 trips and give no trouble what so ever. I also am not a fan of 1st gear being wide open and the lights on top of the head
And saltwater two years max life even though it says salt water rust after two years keep aiming. Low brother also try the I pilot bye minn kota it's nice running and keeps you freed up more

I would I got one minn kota the way to go don't run it in salt water says it's ok two years max what I have found out
So.... how come I'm the only one who velcro straps the tilt lever so it automatically kicks up whe you hit a rock and doesn't break the shaft....
I don't know anyone that mounts a trolling motor on the transom. But that's a good tip for those who do.

Was going to buy one begging of this year for a try. Ended up going the cheap broken burned up minn kota to make one franken troller.

if thats the boat you use it on as the main motor, maybe get a gasoline outboard, way to big a boat for an electric troller
I have seen enough not to purchase one
