EcoFlow Delta 2 Failed | Do Not Buy | Build

  • In this episode, we take a look at the EcoFlow Delta 2 portable power station. This power station was in use for several months running a mini split, but suddenly decided to fail without notice. Now it won't take a charge. It won't turn on or have any response.
It seems like a good power station when it works, but so far almost every portable power station I've had had some type of failure. Which is why I encourage people to build their own power station because it is user serviceable and can be repaired rather quickly without having to go through support process.

Last time I checked Ecoflow products have a 5 year warranty. Instead of making a useless youtube video why not initiate a warranty return? Stuff does break!

I have a broken Ecoflow. The warranty is 2 years, not 5. I have about 5 cycles on the batteries and have it for emergency use only. It failed. Ecoflow will not replace or repair the unit (even if the service department charges). Terrible for how much this costs. My DIY solution that is much older and has hundreds of cycles works fine.

@@chunger169 I checked the website it says 5 years for the Ecoflow Delta 2. At least in Europe, maybe it's different in the US.

@@chunger169 Agree. I have a Delta and I've replaced it TWICE....I have no confidence that it will work when I need it in an emergency. I have a RIVER that seems to now not be holding a charge. Both of these are less than 5 years. I won't buy another ECOFLOW.

You have to open it up, then jump start the BMS because it was locked due to low voltage.

I have played around and fixed a few of these units if you get no support take the top grey case off and side panels and first try to re seat the connectors especially the one to the main display
I’m not sure if the delta 2 has the same bms as the delta max but that unit has 2 test buttons on the side of it the first one on the left runs some kind of test function that will momentarily open the relay to the main positive and negative going to the inverter and dc board allowing you to read the dc voltage with a meter so you can check the pack voltage
The second button on the Right turns the screen on and off
    Hope this helps

For everyone asking why he didn’t initiate a warranty claim, I think that is part of his complaint, he did and got no customer service.
I am concerned because my switch has been working off and on.

You are literally the only one I know that has this issue. The only one. I'm calling total bullshit.

Have you tried to hook it to solar? The battery BMS might have tripped and you might have to "jump start it"

  • @Electronzap
    @Electronzap 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

I had a different power station that failed. Someone else with the same issue had to make a video of the problem and send it to the manufacturer before he uploaded footage of that video to TH-cam. So I figured it was not an easy fix I would be able to do. It was a lower price power station and probably 2 years old so I currently have no plans to do anything with it. Sucks that they aren't made to be fail proof though at the price you pay for them.

I have had my EcoFlow Delta Max for almost 2 years now. I have never had any issues with it. I even bought it through eBay as a refurbished unit and they included an EcoFlow 110Watt solar panel. I never drain my battery completely and normally keep it charged around 80% I do cycle it down to 50% every 6 months and then up to 100% to do a fresh cycle. Never let the battery get below 20% and it can last you so many years!
I have a BluEtti and the EcoFlow just blows it out of the water! I guess some people just either get a bad Unit or just don't take care of the power station properly? Did you try to call EcoFlow and tell them about your issue and have them trouble shoot your power station?

Cost depends! These companies already have an advantage of being able to get the parts much cheaper. Because they buy these parts in bulk. And we already know when a customer by things in bulk, they get the individual items much cheaper.
Than there is the convenience of getting everything with a push of a button. And most people don't have the expertise of putting together a system.
Then there is space. If you buy all these things separately, you have to make more space for them. And that is a problem for more and more people who live in apartments.
And more and more people are traveling for work. They do not want to have to move different parts around. It is a hassle.
I had built systems in the past and I prefer the eco flow. They have a warranty if something goes wrong and you have an option to extend it past two years. You also have access to customer support during business hours.
With individual products like an inverter, a battery, a solar controller, ect. You have to contact each individual company if something goes wrong.
Eco flow and it competitors always have discounts on their products, because they are a big company. So you actually might be paying more if you go with individual parts, besides what I mentioned earlier.
    Good luck.

I couldn't agree more. There are so many Power Stations out there but i can't bring myself to spend at least 1000.00 when I can buy a few LIFEPO4 batteries and get more power for cheap.

Please create a Single Panel (400W/30Voc) Solar/AC input generator with 2KWh LFP and at least a single 1500W/120V output. Purpose is Low cost MiniSplitCooler AC support.

I have two Delta's. The Delta 1300 and this one with 2 spare batteries. I've had the Delta for almost a year and the Delta II for about 6 months. I've had no troubles with mine. Sounds like a blown fuse. You didn't mention how you've had it. If it isn't in warranty, open it up from the top and see what you can see. Like suggested below.. have you connect a panel to it..?

I’ve been looking into solar power generators, but very hesitant.
Especially with all the battery 🔥’s
With gas, it may make a bit of noise,
But it will work - @ Night, cloudy or otherwise!
