I do agree about the emotions they conveyed when singing these. Big shoutout to Siyeon. She hits me the most. Also, i was blown away by Propose but after watching their live performance of it, jesus...I watched it an unhealthy amount of times.
Your analysis of "To. You" made me realize that the song is not about the fans, it's about Minx! The synth sequence in the beginning and the guitar solo in the middle are both referencing the Minx song "Like You"! There was something extremely nostalgic about this song when i first heard it, and now it makes perfect sense. The song is a work of genius!❤
Bon Voyage is personally my fav comeback in the apocalypse series Demian is a musical production BEAST it's a type of song only dreamcatcher would make, you won't find anything like it in the industry for the most part Handong's chest voice is perfect for their concept especially when she's belting, same for Dami I'm glad they're utilizing these two's vocals more recently
So glad you explicitly drew a connection between DC's song Demian and the Hermann Hesse novel Demian, I think you are the only reactor I have come across who has done so. As someone who has read the book, I can say the connections are very clear. Also, I really like how you made the point about how these themes are currently relevant, not just interesting lyrics. The book is very readable and worth looking at on its own though. It was the influence behind BTS's Wings era songs, including Blood Sweat and Tears. On the theme of obsessive love in Propose, or the dark self-destructive aspect of love, this is not a new theme for DC. I guess you could say that Propose is part of an obsessive love trilogy with Poison Love and BEcause! And the more I listen to To. You, it seems unfair just to call it a fan song - there is more going on. Stylistically parts of it remind of the Korean singer songwriter Younha - who Dreamcatcher (especially Jiu, Sua and Siyeon) admire. Anyway really liked your thoughts
In 'To You', after the first chorus, in the lines that Gahyeon and SuA sings, Ollounder hinted that they hid the names of all seven members in those 2 lines. I tried to listen for it but the words used were not exactly their names, just sounded close to it, only Handong was exactly reproduced (first words in SuA's part), the rest sounded somewhat like their names but it was in their Usual Age Sequence.
dreamcatcher \:D/ all their albums have a ballad of some form that are for/about insomnias. it's not necessarily about separation during rona as you call it, but the separation from the last time they seen fans since in most cases they only travel to each region once a year.

I believe Ateez and Dreamcatcher share quite a few of their producers, so it's no surprise Dreamcatcher's intros remind you of them. 😉
