Always good to know what Thomas has to say. Polestar needs to work on the user interface. It ruins what could otherwise be a very desirable car.

It's a good looking car and all but just way too expensive. It makes much more sense to get any Hyundai Ioniq / KIA EV / Genesis 2025 facelifts. You get more car for considerably less money with much faster charging... I personally don't care about no rear view window. My current Toyota has a digital rear view mirror and I use it all the time. I might as well have a closed back and wouldn't care.

Polestar is for the rich and vetter Quality. Kia and Hyundai and genesis is for the broke sheeps.

The absence of a rear window is PURE GENIUS it is part of what makes this is the best EV!! Awesome!

Polestar say they left the rear window out, so that they could move the pillar back and provide more space for the rear passengers.. he is surprised that the rear passengers have so much space and headroom.. then he goes “I really don’t see why they got rid of the rear window” 😒.
I got my Polestar 3 last week and the user interface is in a completely different league to my previous rides.
The I.d.4 is free of bugs but absolutely awful in the usability department.
My I-PACE had more physical buttons, 3 screens and a HUD, but the UI was laggy, slow and awkward to use.
My Audi S3 and S4’s are from a different age, but they were very clunky.
The Polestar infotainment is very easy to use and navigate, has shortcuts for the most common changes, but yes it takes a few days to get settled in.
The biggest annoyances are during the initial drive. Adjusting mirrors and steering wheel via the middle screen is a bit much.
This is something you do once though. After that having the car reconfigure to the driver automatically is great especially if you’re wife is 30cm shorter than you 😀
After the first week the interface just works wonderfully in every day use. Both my I-Pace and the I.d.4 have a lot of daily pain points that never go away. The I.d.4 in particular is just obnoxious with all its capacitive buttons and it’s “German” regen switch that you have to manually engage every time you select a gear.
The big annoyance with the Polestar 3 right now is the software bugs. A reset is easily done, but if you’re not comfortable with software, it’s not a car for you right now.

There is nothing "overdone" in a Polestar interface. The only thing these days "overdone" is the German manufacturer necessity for a PhD in "Konfiguratortechnik". That is a genuine "deal breaker". Also the necessity to deal with "Hr Hai" in the "Verkaufsabteilung". And to "negotiate" the actual price. Nope. Not doing that ever again.

now.... if you replace the Alpina with a 226570, that would be even better 🙂

You have to add when you test the driving feel of this car that it is using the (ridiculous) 22 inch wheels. So its range is reduced dramatically, and its noise levels will be way up and it will have a "hard" feel. Try this on 20 inch and it will be completely different.

The rearview mirror is a showstopper. No 3d feeling and for 40+ people with reduced eye sight to to age you would need a reading field on top of the glasses also to use the mirror :(

Not true at all. The camera mirror just works great. I got normol glasses and bad eyes. It just works great!

You might be right.. or be surprised.
I have the dreaded myopia plus presbyopia combination with multi focals.
I had an Evoque with the digital rear mirror for a day and it gave me trouble for the first hour or so. The problem is mostly about the image not moving when your head is moving though. That makes it hard to judge distances when reversing.. but then you have the reversing camera and 360 view on the main screen which is in the lower position.
An option to display the rear camera on the small driver’s display would be nice.
So I think a test drive is even more advisable than usual.

I'm shocked that they'd appoint the CEO of a company (Nikola) that defrauded customers and then suspended delivery of their vehicle because of an explosion at a factory. He's going to ruin Polestar.

Thomas is the best car reviewer on YT. He gives his honest opinion, the good points as well as the bad.

The car is great but the speaker or reviewer is very bad

He covers the cars he reviews very well and his familiar style might have caught out as a new viewer.
