      Seemed difficult for her to talk about seeing she has a close relationship with the issue through her parents. I admire her ability to address the issue despite the emotional difficulty of discussing the experience. I pray we all have an opportunity to take part in resolving the injustice against the family value of the American citizen.

    • @cblooy15
      @cblooy15 5 ปีที่แล้ว +46

      ^^Seems like both of y'all missed point of UnSub's comment. Stop talking about Selena. It's not about her. The issue is the people, the children out here living undocumented and afraid that they won't have a tomorrow. That their family won't face a tomorrow. They've been in this country all their lives and at any given moment can just be taken away from all that they know. Imagine having a friend or even a significant other, going to school, doing homework..... Wait, I assume you don't have to imagine that. Imagine not being able to join a sports team because they need your records or you can't study for your math test next Monday because you don't know if you'll make it until then. Do you have the hope to keep studying? This is what these comments should be about. I greatly respect Selena for what she's doing here. However, she's not the point. Even she knows she's not the point. She's not doing this for herself. She's doing this for people like Bar, Camillo, and Pablo.
      As someone from Chicago, who went to school with undocumented students, I feel like I may have SEVERELY downplayed this issue. I knew of the issue and I knew how serious it could affect someone. However, I had to compare this situation to one similar to my own to really understand what it means to be undocumented. Growing up bullied, I transferred a lot because I felt like no one wanted me there and I didn't fit in. For me, that was just a few elementary schools. Imagine a whole nation treating you like that. Not even because of the people necessarily, but because if the system. Yeah, people are cruel. However, a system that treats you like a virus and its purpose is to find and eliminate you? How do you challenge that? Can you challenge that? How? With what help? That's the issue.

    Everyone talking about Selena and how “strong” she is and how she’s working so hard for doing this are completely missing the point. Don’t talk about her. Talk about what she’s talking about. These people that are living undocumented are the strong people and ones that have done amazing things to push through the dark side.

      Joy Phillips God are you going to spam every thread..Come on life is never fair..and this is an important decision for future generations especially in America.. You think there is a country that wishes for chaos and war..Never..At one time here in Kenya despite being a third world country we were hosting..Rwandese after the genocide..then we hosted Ugandans and Congo and South Sudanese after war too.there is no way we would have sent back women and children who have walked miles just because the were illegal..some of them never went back and are still illegal. The major threat came with Somalia and the alshabab millitia..we allowed them to enter then terror attacks started happening in the country..we still did not send the vulnerable back just because its inhumane..You know what our gov't did ? They sent Kenyan millitary there to try and overpower radicalization and stabilize Somalia and at a very high cost cz Soldiers died in huge numbers..Eventually East African forces were able to stabilize Somalia and the refugees were able to go back recently..though some did not want to go back to their homes..they had established lives here..Till today Kenya hosts alot of Neigbouring countries citizens because most of the time there is peace ..Dont wish for people to experience terrible things just because you or your family did...thats not how we move forward as humanity..USA needs to check their harsh immigration policies..for their future..you dont know what will happen in the future..war can happen even in the USA..and citizens will be on the run would they like their future children to be locked in cages or deported.Sorry for the long essay but we cannot legislate empathy, kindness,and compassion. Our humanness should allow us to care for each other despite our races and religions..we belong to the human race.

      Joy Phillips oh your relatives can’t apply for a visa and come here? Because if they could the will be here long ago right? Or they want to wait there for the legal way to migrate. If that’s the case maybe is not that bad there if they can wait 20 years. So why they will want to come here? Help me to understand?

      What will you say to those families who have relatives waiting in line? Tough luck? This is something their parents caused while the other parents chose to wait in line. All immigrants generally come here looking for a better life so that can't be the reason. I want illegals sent home. My relatives have been waiting in line for 20 years. This has nothing to do with race since I am not white. There is nothing these people can say that will make up for the time that I didn't get to spend with my family while they were waiting in line.

I’d like you to give me just one reason why your family wants to come to the U.S.? For a better life right? They’re just like the families of many other illegal immigrants, but what sets them apart is that their lives are endangered. Is your family members lives in danger? I don’t think so, other wise they would be spending 20 year waiting in line. These immigrants don’t have 20 years to wait when clearly yours do. So why don’t you stfu and PLEASE move on! Thx😙

Now, I'm more than grateful that people are starting to talk more about the real issues, I feel their pain, I know what it's like, and knowing that there's thousands of people feeling what I have felt is horrible. More attention needs to be brought to the topic💔
