This happened to a kid I went to high school with. They literally dropped him off at the boarder with nothing but the clothes on his back. He knew nobody in Mexico. Shortly after that he ended his own life because he truly felt like he had no life worth living. Its heartbreaking.

That's nothing. I knew a father of two boys, 2 and 3. A truck rear ended his SUV. Yet he got arrested and put to jail for 3 months and then, sent to an ICE detention center for 12 months before being deported. The psicological scars that his kids have are deep. The 2 year old is almost 5 now but he doesn't talk, the 3 year old now almost 7, has speach and learning problems, they were bright normal boys. It's just sad. I see kids adopted from other countries given a family and an opportunity, and I see those boys born americans being ripped of their parents and ignored.

Good for you! Thank you for your service. It is amazing how differently people are treated, like how do they pick and choose who stays and who goes?!? Plus, who goes to jail for weed now?!? That's something else that shouldn't happen. We can all thank Trump for sending Brandon away...not ok. This is his home. I've seen it happen to so many people. In Henderson, NV (las vegas) the jail is also an ICE hold, it's sad to see. I had to go for a few days for an unpaid ticket and my cell mate was a 60yr old woman from Cuba who was brought to the U.S. when she was like 10wks old. Cuba is not her home. She's never been there, she barely even speaks any Spanish, hardly any at all. She went to school here and worked for the same company, cleaning hotel rooms on the strip for the last 40 some years. The police came to her house, looking for someone else, wrong address, found out she is illegal and arrested her. When I met her in late 2019 (when I went to jail), she had been in that jail for 2years and still had no idea when she'd ever be let out. Idk what happened to her, but I pray she's okay. She had children, grandkids and a whole life here and nothing at all for her in Cuba. She knew nobody there, her entire family is here. I hope Brandon is doing ok, good luck to him and thankfully he at least had some family to take him in. Thankful to his grandpa. I'm sorry for him, his mother and his family. I pray they're in a better place now.

Its very hard for the average American to make ends meet, and paying for healthcare and education for non citizens out of our taxes is wrong. Besides, my sister got kicked out of where she was living because she broke up with her boyfriend, and it would take her. awhile to get together the money for a place, and we asked the government if they could do anything for her, even a few hundred dollars in food stamps. She was literally looking at having nothing to eat, because she would need to put that towards rent. The first thing they asked is if she was an immigrants, or if she had children under 5 year old. When she said no, they said, sorry , cant help you. All of our programs really are for mothers with young kids or immigrants. So. UP his a**.

@@bpxl53yewz29 It’s true. There’s a queue based on your birth country and how many are trying to get in. Each step you take to get through the process can take years depending on how slow your local branch is and how big the backlog is. There are cases of families having to wait over 20 years to become citizens, even after having a green card for well over a decade. The process is slow, and expensive. If you ask immigrant families, most of them are well aware of how cumbersome the process is.
