Great job with the video Chris! As a professional player and instructor, I always make it a point to teach in a way that even a child would understand and you did that EXTREMELY WELL! Good luck to you and thanks for all that you're doing for the game!
I have been shooting pool on and off for 56 years, and had forgotten a lot of the advanced nuances of the game. Your videos have elevated my game in the last week by at least a ball to ball and a half. Thanks for all the valued instruction!!
Thanks Chris your videos have helped a great deal. I have been a consistent league player since 2011, Apa Tap and CSI. I began playing at 17 years of age in 1966-67. I am now 74 and still enjoying the game. Because I am short like you, this particular video will help a lot . Many Thanks John
Lil' Chris, I've accidentally stumbled over one of your videos and since than your classes are my favorite related to pool billiards. I am a player with 40 years of experience and still find very valuable things to learn from your videos. Thank you much for your effort and dedication. All thumbs up!!!!
Thanks Chris, that was amazing! I’ve never had a jump cue, I still don’t, however, I’ve been thinking to get one and start practicing these shots. This is the first tutorial that I’ve watched for learning how to play jump shot and I believe I don’t need another one. Everything I thought I needed to know to flawlessly make a “Short high” and “Long” jump shot was there in this video!
Great breakdown of the jump shot. Thanks for making this one and including a lot of good extra info that you normally don't see with this type of shot.
Dude you’ve got some serious skill and a good way of explaining things, definitely going to keep watching your videos so I can elevate my game, thanks Chris
Chris, once again you have made it so even i can digest the concept....today was my 1st attempt with my break / jump cue....SUCCESS !!!.... now to practice! Thanks again.... Vince
Awesome video soulbrotha. I benefit so much by watching your videos. With your help, I've taken my game and my confidence to that next level. Thanks you so much and keep doing what you're doing.
That's the cue I've been wanting! I built my Pool Table in 1972. in high school. I've been watching your videos. So, being retired, I get more time to play and practice. Everyday! I think I've improved, but I'd like to start trying to jump. My brother in law, actively involve in Pool Leagues. He's commented that I have improved my shots. I win now more than I use to. Thanks to your videos!
Wow! I am learning alot from Chris. His presentation is clear and easy to understand. I really appreciate him addressing the height of the player as I am a shorter person and need a few tricks to make successful shots.
Hey Chris, you impressed me with your Jump shot pool lessons, not only you simplified the process but made it fun, keep-up the good work and contributing to the great game of billiards.
I've been playing for many years & jump shots have always been last resort when in a match these fundamentals are key to performing jump shots well. Good job.
Chris - I just subscribed to your channel. I am a long time player and used to be able to play a bit. Got a table now and trying to remember some of what I used to be able to do. Your teaching here was awesome, man. The language was clear and communicated the points effectively, the videos were well edited. You didn't say much about it, but the trick of how QUICKLY you can get the cue ball in the air to clear the other balls (2 ft, then 1 ft, then 6 inches, then 3 inches) showed the differences in techniques required very well. Great job, man - and I"ll be a regular at watching your videos. Thanks!
Very nice demo Chris. Would you please explain where the tip strikes the cue ball and if you stroke down and thru or do you poke to avoid hitting the table.?
As always, great video Chris👍🏼 I really enjoy watching your videos, and I've truly seen some improvement in my game since i started following your tips👌🏼 And i have an advice for you myself, throw in some work on the editing, and maybe get a slow mo camera, and you'll be up to 100k+ subscribers in no time😉
I have been shooting on and off for about 13years. My husband was going to show me how to jump 4years ago but he first had a stroke and then a year later a massive heart attack. It has taken me awhile to get interested again and you made it seem less difficult than I thought. Thank you 😊 I will be practicing it often so I can surprise my current team.😉
I bought my first jump stick but then I wished I watched your video first. I feel I bought the wrong one. Love your videos Lil' Chris. I am very impressed. Keep it up.
Thank you so much for properly breaking down the jump shot piece by piece. I now have a better understanding of the shot and how to execute adequately. I am definitely staying tuned for the next video. My infatuation for pool knows no boundaries.
I’m really impressed with the different ways you jumped balls. Especially the one with your bridge hand off the table. I have been wanting to learn how to jump but I only have one stick. And that’s an older Schon so I could really use a stick that’s made specifically for jumping.
He did fail to mention that the higher elevation you go, the thinner you need to hit the ball so that it doesn't rebound into the cue and prevent it from lifting off. That is a key ingredient not mentioned.
I would disagree with you. Jump shots aren’t as easy as it seems and it takes a lot of practice to get the accuracy down. It’s one of the reasons why I like American pool rules over countries that ban this move.
@@SethStovallVO The problem with the jump shot, the way I see it, is that it robs us of the alternative, which will almost always be much more interesting than the jump... i.e., a 2- or 3- or maybe 4-rail escape shot.
Thanks Chris, You've brought back some great tips that I had compete forgotten. I'm trying to get back into playing Pool, It's been 35+ yrs since I've played. I'm going to watch all of your videos that I can. Thanks Again for the tips!
That was an awesome open bridge shot. All your lessons are fully explained. I am starting to see shots better since I understand every part of the shot. Thanks for tyaking the time to make these videos in a way us D players can understand. Now, I even impress myself once in a while.
Comprehensive. Best way to describe this video. If I were to recommend one only (for learning this particular skill set) , this one would be hard to top . The dual screen in the corner segments really give better understanding. Your pace is easy to follow. Kept on point. Explanation of the physics was great. Not overly technical, just what matters. I humbly say you're producing better and better videos as time moves along. I'm grateful for your contributions to teaching pool. Thank you.
My brother and I are just starting to learn how to play pool properly and your videos are absolutely invaluable. Thanks! We are both guilty of scooping the cue ball when trying to jumps shot. Thankyou for showing us the correct way!
Chris, great video on how to perform a jump shot that has always been the one shot I have always had trouble with so I would just attempt to work around it with varying success. I appreciate your paced and careful explanations that you give during your videos, makes your instructions very easy to follow then translate them myself to my game. Keep the videos coming, no one is ever to old to learn something new.
That video was very informative. I didn't know I was doing the jump shot wrong this whole time. Thank you for all the lessons you have given. I practice everything I've seen in your videos that I've watched.
I am new at the game and came across your videos, you are a great presenter in form, knowledge and demonstration. I will continue to tune in and learn. Your videos are motivational. Keep them coming!
Thanks for the great video on Jump shots. After many years of playing pool (I am 71, and I started at 15) I am finally working on my jumps shots. I have learned a lot from your videos.
I am enjoying your videos. Watched a few already, and took to the pool table to practice. What a difference your videos have made so far in my game. I've had people try and explain the diamonds to me before with no joy in understanding them. Now, it is like a light bulb went off and I'm now making alot more shots than before. Thank you!
Thank you so much for helping me learn what I'm doing wrong with my jump shot. I just got into pool recently and I've been relying on watching videos of the pros playing to see what I should correct in my own game, so being able to see exactly what I need to do to make a legal jump shot is amazing! Keep up the good work!
Very well done and informative I knew most of the reasons you were explaining but the Jump cue was still a bit of a mystery. I have used the bridge to jump in the past as well. Cheers
Very well done. The video was informative and has me at the table practicing your technique on elbow position and bridging. One helpful hint I have is to place a piece of old felt under the cue ball to prevent burn marks on the table felt when practicing jump shots.

I've been really wanting to learn the jump shot to try and increase my edge when playing with friends and family. With your help I think I can succeed. Thanks for the edge!
excellent video. you have a great way of explaining things. in regards to a pro using a bridge to jump, i saw Shane Van Boeing using 2 bridges on top of each other to jump using the dart grip. it is in Dr Dave's video on how to perform jumps. Great job man.
Cool video, but one thing that none of these instructional videos seems to detail much is the exact stroke, the exact grip, the exact wrist action, and exactly where to hit the ball. I've been piecing it together from several videos, but still have to just kind of guess as to how to follow through. I'll give it another try, and see what I can do. I even bought some felt so I can put it down to protect the table while I learn masses and jumps, although the felt seems to make it harder to execute these shots.
There's no way to exactly show where the grip, wrist action, or anything physiological. Everyone is different. Just from the different lengths in arm span makes a difference. At the very least, you should be able to pick up the techniques it takes to execute. As far as the stroke, just treat it like a normal shot but obviously there has to be some pace in your stroke. Otherwise, the cue ball will not jump high enough.

Good job on the "Jump Shot" tutorial. I really try not to be in that situation where I have to do a jump, because I really don't have that much of experience on it. Now that I've subscribed to your tutorials and watching them, I believe I will get better at the game. Thanks Lil' Chris.

Your instructions and techniques to demonstrate are so clear , even I can understand.
Thank you

You're not short; you're Lil
I've learned so much by watching your videos. Thanks for sharing
Thanks Lil Chris for showing me what I was doing wrong. Now I know the legal way and I’m more accurate with each jump shot thanks
Very impressive shot! Here's hoping we learn how to do it as well as you do!
Great job . I'm learning so much . I used to only go there to watch but now I want to play !
I really love de video I never made a jump shot so easily I’m 53 years old and the billiards bug bite me recently so hard that I even made my own pool table top so I can practice and with your video in only few tries I did the shot greatly appreciate it and looking forward to the next video thank you so much
Awesome stuff. Keen to start learning to jump properly. As I use the scoop shot to jump. I'm no where near being a professional but at my age I have plenty of years to ensure I get better. And become great. Thanks for the video. Just subscribed. :)
Jump shots have been hell for me to learn, and I see multiple things I have been doing wrong, but you demonstrated. This will be my year to learn them. I can't afford a Predator so I hope that I can learn with a cheaper cue. Awesome demonstration and clear explanation!! Very well done.
