Tail Air and ATEM Mini Extreme is impressive haha I love the clarity of the video
So hoping at they will release a 10x or at least 5x optical zoom version. This would be such an amazing budget setup for sports as their remote is the most affordable PTZ remote that offers a proper joystick and a zoom rocker.
I think it would be cool if in camera you could do a 2x zoom just by selecting a "punch in" 1080 feed out of the hdmi. It then wouldn't be a digital zoom it would just be a crop of the 4k sensor
Yeah. Optical zoom and we will have the perfect camera for churches

Thanks for sharing this info. I'd be interested if they had other lenses. I'd rather have a lens that crops the shot. I don't want to force cropped shots in editing.

I'm considering purchasing the Tail Air for closed-circuit youth sports streaming. I'd love to hear your experience with tracking a soccer game, given the number of players, how it tracked the group or the ball, or if you just had presets and manually switched. Ideally I'd like to track action, but I'm seeing zero information online about that...just person, face, and object. Thanks for the review!
I was testing at kids soccer with AI tracking did alright but would sometimes follow the adult coaches. So I ended up just using the Presets and that worked perfectly
Hey! How are you dealing with latency? You mentioned fiber HDMI is that much different from normal HDMI? As after 50ft the longer you go with hdmi the more latency is introduced. We had to use Ethernet to hdmi converters as a solution to send the signal longer distance .

Hi, anxious to know if you can use these cams in settings like talkshows, 3 or 4 persons interviews, of course hooked to a switcher (Atem or so)? Say 4 or 5 cams, no crew or 1 man only on the cams, plus 1 director at the switcher? Thanks.

Thanks for this video, I'm actually thinking of getting one, but I'm hesitant because I don't think that Obsbot is good for outdoors use in the rain or snow. But I'm wondering if you could test out how this Obsbot tracking works when following the Goalkeeper for those awsome behind the net blocks of goal. Can the bot keep tracking when the net interferes with image or when goalkeeper move up the pitch to support his team. If you could do a video that would help me understand what complications I might encounter, thanks.
I will try to do that sometime. I will say no I would not put it out in the rain or snow at all.
I’d like to see the same setup using NDI instead. Creating your own hotspot router.

No IP67 rating will get damaged in bad weather.
Hey Eli cool vid. Had a question . Can you record on the atem? How do you get the video form the different cams angles off the atem? Basically instead of me having to take out the sd card and dump it to adobe , is there basically a record feature on the atem directly to record your feed ? And then be able to post edit ?
The switching back and forth feature sold me , but I want to know how you get that video off the atem and be able to upload it to TH-cam .

How do you convert the OBSBOT tail microHDMI into regular HDMI? No passive dongle has ever worked for me with any of my optical HDMI cables :(

Can't share the example as it was youth sports but tracking did alright but would sometimes lock onto the adult coaches. I ended up use presets

How’s the remote working with those ptz cameras from a distance of over 60m-70m?
With clear line of site it worked just fine 150 ft way (45m) I didn't test longer than that. My optical hdmi cables are 150ft. Now as soon as I got behind the small pine tree it was hit or miss.
How does the tracking work with multiple player games like basketball?
I don't know but could try testing
How do we set them up so that each camera sends the live stream to a single social media platform?
I would recommend an atem or osee or Yolobox to do the switching and streaming

Is the rodes mic plugged into the camera?
Yes, it was plugged directly into the main OBSBOT Tail Air via the audio input jack.
