Was so stoked to see this overhauled in PLA, slightly let down to see it return. It started out as a way to draw distinction between two pokemon of the same species. It certainly does that, but more importantly, it feels punitive towards the mons you've already completed the game with. With the addition of bottle caps, any pokemon can be its best nowadays... but EVs could really be easier to reset, it can take quite some time to collect enough berries for a whole team. Even better, though, would be a complete overhaul...
Just changes your pokemon type to a new typing. For example an electric type pikachu that is super weak to ground attacks but if it terastallizes into a flying tera type, ground attacks will not target it anymore. And if you have flying type moves they will be boosted because it matches your tera type. However electric attacks will be weaker because you won't be electric type anymore while your are terastallized.
So should you start with ivs, then more to evs, then hyper train? In correct order? Im trying to build up terra mons and cant understand what ice done wrong, i smash 4 stars no problem but 5 stars i get 1 hkoed
So when you showed the yellow graph for your stats in game the bright yellow was the points you have invested already what’s the faded yellow blob is that like a rough outlook of what you could invest in it?

Do exp candies effect stats negatively? If your pokemon has max ivs and evs and then you give it candies to get to level 100. Will it be weaker then leveling it up naturally through battles?
@@notsobloodborne3898 Yeah, hyper training is pretty much just a way to bypass breeding to get "best". Like let's say you get a shiny that wasn't perfect, but you really want it for competitive. You can hyper train that stat so that you still get the max IV for it. It will just have a tag on it showing that it was hypertrained and not inherited. I'm not sure how this works for further breeding, I assume that a hyper trained pokémon can't breed perfect stats using the destiny knot and it will just default to the actual inherited stat.
The give you an idea of how many extra stats you get in that stat. Best gives you 31 stat points to the stat, full table here: Best = 31 Fantastic = 30 Very Good = 26 - 29 Pretty Good = 16 - 25 Decent = 1 - 15 No Good = 0
Feathers increase the respective EV by 1 for each feather. Carbos and similar drinks increase the respective EV by 10 for each one. Yes you can max out to 252 using those
Okay I do have one question and I'm kind of new one to actually factoring math into Pokemon it's always just been run fine killer catch and then continue on now I'm into more of the online scene and I've got to ask does getting a Pokemon at level 1 with the best stats all around affect the gain of each stat per level so would it be best to get a level 1 from an egg until you get one with best stats?
@Laura Berdugo If I'm not mistaken, hyper-trained means IV's won't carry to eggs. "Best" IV's would carry over to eggs. Don't quote me on that though, I'm also beginning to teach myself about this stuff 😅
There's a maximum of 510 EVs you can add on to a pokemon. 252 is maximum per each stat. Which means you can do 252 and 252 on two stats and then you have 6 EVs left over. Every 4 EVs adds one stat point into a stat. Which means of the last 6, you only need to use the 4 of it
@@ConCon that just it if that were the case there would only be 500 total not 200 here and 200 there from what i see it adds up to more then 500 so it seems ev are just a bunch of bullshit
there wouldnt be for ex a 225 hp and a 210 atk followed by another 200 def and so on makes no sense if it is as you say then why have ovder 500 clearly right there it honestly take the fun out of it for people that wanna just have fun and battle others when you get these nerd ass people that say it works like this but looks more like made u shit
I think you are forgetting that EVs are not numbers you see on the game. You can only track them by seeing the yellow chart like at 9:30 where you can see I have 252 EVs in Speed and 252 EVs in attack

Yeah pretty much, though the faded yellow one makes no sense. It's the bright yellow that shows your EVs

No, it has no difference from just normally leveling up
What about raising stats with items like calcium? Can that raise them to Best and then 31 of each candy and then you can breed them too?
Those nutritious drinks raise your EVs by 10 for each drink. You can hyper train at Montenevra to get your IVs to 31 (hyper trained)
Breeding will not pass down the hyper trained IV stats or EVs though

No it doesn't work that way. A level 59 you caught and a bred level 1 will always reach the same max point after correctly training them
