I have twins. I'm a full time working, single mom. They're 18 months old and we haven't used most of what the world said we "had to have" and I have two/double of only a few things, like cribs/pack n plays, bouncers, feeding seats (we dont have high chairs. They go on the kitchen chair the Ingenuity Baby Base 2 in 1). You're so right that people try to sell you everything. We have a bucket style baby bath tub, and I bought it because it fit between the toilet and tub, and could be used to store bath toys later, which was good, because I literally bathed both of them twice in it. 🤣. Never had a changing table, didn't want one, don't miss it, hated them whenever I babysat so knew I probably wouldn't want one. Didn't. What we loved were two Binxy Baby Cart Hammocks because until they could sit up, I had to have a way to go grocery shopping with them by myself.... so we used those. Everyone is so different, their family and their baby, which is a good thing to remember. Things one mom swears she can't live without, another mom will never use once.

Another thing that is an absolute essential for me is a nursing cover. Not the stretchy kind that goes all around you. But just a simple rectangle with a loop to go over your head. And it has a piece in it that makes it stand out so that you can look down and see the baby. So perfect when you have older children around or for nursing in public. Mine is homemade but I know you can get them online too. I think they might be called udder covers.

Yes I always had a cape dress too when nursing my 5. Mine were totally breastfed. Never used a bottle and so yes I fed them when They were hungry whenever and wherever.
You did an excellent job recommending helpful product ideas and discounts! I hadn’t thought of the problem of fire retardant in mattresses when I was having babies. My husband was a Chemistry teacher for 30years and when we were having babies, he begged me to use cloth diapers because of the chemicals in polymers used for absorption in disposable diapers. He said to have that against reproductive organs for 2 1/2 year’s isn’t good. I actually enjoyed using cloth….always a load away for clean diapers.
Congrats again on your baby girl!! My daughter had twins 3 months ago!! She also has a two year old son! We had so much fun prepping for two!!! Oh she had a boy AND a girl!! We were so excited that our little Violet came into the world with her brother!! Now my daughter feels complete!

It's a miracle how the Lord has healed you and gave you a baby to. I watched last year as you struggled with health issues and your father n laws home going. So glad for you and little Zander .He's so excited for his sister 💓 so precious makes me look back at my children's births and smile 😃. I'm praying for a healthy safe time for you both!! When my children were babies all there were were the wind up big clunky swings and it was a lifesaver. By the time my last was born I think they had dome out with the battery powered ones. Now the can do everything, rock, swing, bounce and play music. They are still invaluable no matter the size. My daughter had her second baby two days ago. I am so thankful there was no ICU or NICU this time. He was three weeks early but was fine. Mother and baby are expected home tomorrow. I am going to check out the swaddling blankets. You can never have to many.

We were gifted so many things for our first baby who was so colicky, the only thing that worked was a good baby wrap. By the last child all I had was a thick towel on a dresser for a changing table, a tote bag from a grocery store for a diaper bag with a few cloth diapers, a washcloth and a squirt bottle of baby bath mixed with water and a ziplock bag. Most of my kids refused a bottle but I did use the same ones you have, loved them. I agree about the bandana bibs, those are super cute!
I wish they had all these wonderful items when my boys were born. Boy, to think back to the early 70tys n what we had but we survived n they grew up. I think this was a wonderful videos for expecting mommy’s. Truly enjoyed this video even though I can’t relate to it as it’s way to late for me to have babies. Been there n done that LOL. ♥️♥️😊👍👍

Glad to see you looking so well. Nothing wrong with getting used things. I got some adorable things at yard sales. Some clothes were never worn! I just brought them home gave them a good wash and I was ready to go. I even found an expensive Cosco car seat at a yard sale. I know you read a lot about not getting these used, but this one was in good shape. However, I did get new straps that were easily available online. Never had any trouble with it and passed it on to a relative when I was finished with it.

We had our 2nd in 2020 when our eldest was 5 as well🥰. We just had our 4th 3 weeks ago, and I definitely agree that you don’t need all the things they try to sell you for baby lol we went super minimal with the last 2 babies.
Bottle warmer could prevent house fires! I had a young family staying with me a few years ago, and wandered Into the kitchen in the middle of the night to find out that Dad had left the pot on the stove with the heat on. Totally burned the copper bottom off. So happy I got midnight hungriest!
Most brands now have either reverse zip or two way zip, at least through 9m size, and many have started it through toddler sizes now. Carter's has it through 9m. Old Navy does too, with some patterns being that all the way through toddler sizes, same with Cloud Island (Target brand).

Male sure you do some research on that pump because from what I can remember it has an opens system so even of you sterilized everything including tubing the inside of the machine may still have milk residual or mold. I learned that when I tried to donate mine and they wouldn’t receive it because of that.
Our first child slept in a cardboard box, next to our bed, for his first 5 months (just so I could lift him up and breast feed in the night easily). He never complained! My mother-in-law gave us a Moses basket for our second - I wonder if she was hinting!

For the first few weeks, I would change my baby diapers on the couch. I would put a towel on the couch and we would change him there. I would just keep all the diapers and wipes in a basket.

These look like great suggestions! Love the fabric of the blanket! All the pieces look like quality pieces that will wear well. I am surprised you prefer one piece outfits. I seem to remember the occasional bouts of diarrhea explosions. Two pieces are definitely better in those times! lol. So cute to see Xander using some of the baby equipment! Lol. We have changing areas all over the house. Changing couch, changing kitchen table, changing floor . In other words changing a baby never required a special space. Funny how these days it's so "essential" to have a specific place to change a child.
I was at Kohls and my son dropped it on the floor🤦🏽♀️ that was a different brand. Philips avent I had better results. My nursing babies are so picking but those bottles love!
If what you have is a microwave heat a glass measuring cup of water for 3 minutes and then put the bottle in the hot water. Problem solved. I hated my Medela. It's the old, gold standard, but after Insurance started paying for them a lot of other companies started coming onto the market with a lot more features than the Medela has. Mandela is the first and they are there for the oldest and they haven't had to upgrade to compete because people just think they're the best without them trying that hard. It's LOUD compared to other pumps, doesn't have a light or a timer etc... normal features on other brands. I got a hand me down Spectra after I couldn't get a let down for anything with a Medela and it's much better for us, and WAY less noisy.
Just realized that when I thought of Zoe I thought Zander, but now I know it’s spelled Xander. So I can’t think of a girls name that starts with X but sounds like Z. So I’m back to square one.
coming from Germany I could not stand those non flamable PJs, baby gear, I searched and searched and only bought 100 % Cotton , when they were older and we went shopping, all 3 girls were reading labels and only would bring me 100 % cotton close to buy. LOL
Same, hauled those things around the house to keep babies happy! I tried the smaller swing for my last 2 babies. They did not approve of them. 😆 Thankfully I had hung onto the huge swing just in case. Whatever it takes is right!
I got a bed frame from costaway. It's is wonderful. They had the perfect price ⅓ of prices I found at other places with less features. Yes, any formula, specially mother's milk the chemicals makeup changes if you put that in the microwave. It also doesn't heat evenly. Please only warm up the water before adding the formula.
@@theMennoniteMom I start cooking vegetables more often when I found out that, they retain abit more nutrition when lightly cooking them in the microwave. Please look that up. The key for most vegetables tasting and more nutritional value is lighter cooking. Of course for puras you need vegetables to be extra soft.

There are new bumbos that are better for there spin and don’t have the right fit at the legs.

For the first few weeks, I would change my baby diapers on the couch. I would put a towel on the couch and we would change him there. I would just keep all the diapers and wipes in a basket.

Lol no worries! 😀 I'm sure it's fine. I tried body carriers and for some reason neither Xander nor I liked it. That's why it didn't make my list but I know I'm the odd one out. So many people use them!

These look like great suggestions! Love the fabric of the blanket! All the pieces look like quality pieces that will wear well. I am surprised you prefer one piece outfits. I seem to remember the occasional bouts of diarrhea explosions. Two pieces are definitely better in those times! lol. So cute to see Xander using some of the baby equipment! Enjoy every second of this experience! I was multitasking as I watched this. Do you use a swaddle? Wish I had known about them when I had a newborn. Praying for all the Mennonite moms expecting (and a couple other youtuber expecting moms) and their newborns. God bless!

Lol. We have changing areas all over the house. Changing couch, changing kitchen table, changing floor .
In other words changing a baby never required a special space. Funny how these days it's so "essential" to have a specific place to change a child.

I was at Kohls and my son dropped it on the floor🤦🏽♀️ that was a different brand. Philips avent I had better results. My nursing babies are so picking but those bottles love!
If what you have is a microwave heat a glass measuring cup of water for 3 minutes and then put the bottle in the hot water. Problem solved. I hated my Medela. It's the old, gold standard, but after Insurance started paying for them a lot of other companies started coming onto the market with a lot more features than the Medela has. Mandela is the first and they are there for the oldest and they haven't had to upgrade to compete because people just think they're the best without them trying that hard. It's LOUD compared to other pumps, doesn't have a light or a timer etc... normal features on other brands. I got a hand me down Spectra after I couldn't get a let down for anything with a Medela and it's much better for us, and WAY less noisy.

coming from Germany I could not stand those non flamable PJs, baby gear, I searched and searched and only bought 100 % Cotton , when they were older and we went shopping, all 3 girls were reading labels and only would bring me 100 % cotton close to buy. LOL

Same, hauled those things around the house to keep babies happy! I tried the smaller swing for my last 2 babies. They did not approve of them. 😆 Thankfully I had hung onto the huge swing just in case. Whatever it takes is right!

Yes, any formula, specially mother's milk the chemicals makeup changes if you put that in the microwave. It also doesn't heat evenly. Please only warm up the water before adding the formula.

@@theMennoniteMom I start cooking vegetables more often when I found out that, they retain abit more nutrition when lightly cooking them in the microwave. Please look that up. The key for most vegetables tasting and more nutritional value is lighter cooking. Of course for puras you need vegetables to be extra soft.
