    I'm considering going full Olins on my Heckler SL, is it worth it? Rode the Mondraker Dune XR and loved the Olins set up. Cheers.

      100%! Especially if you go fork and shock. It does add some weight but if you want ultimate performance downhill Ohlins front and rear is the way to go! Cheers! Mat

    Hey mate - I have a stock Heckler SL with the air shock, and find it feels quite rough and bumpy in British Columbia tech. Considering switching to a coil and potential 38 fork. What differences have you found between the air and coil shock? Any downsides (other than weight)?

    • @BRINKUK

      Hello! Great question! Air shocks will always struggle at some point. Its a trade off for adjustability over pure performance with an air shock. The coil is more of a project to get setup and will need a few goes and maybe some investment in different springs etc to get right but if its performance you are after theres nothing better! Especially on this bike as the leverage rate works perfectly with a coil shock. It can feel a little sluggish with 32% sag (thats what Im running) but you can dial this out on compression for tracks that need it. But otherwise in the janky gnarly stuff it is the ultimate setup! Cheers, Mat

      I was watching a video where the guy was saying that is a characteristic of a VPP linkage; perfect for playfulness and burns, but gets harsh on consecutive hits. Not tried it myself though.

    Very nice, but what’s happened to the Gas Gas?

    • @BRINKUK

      I sold the Gas Gas as it was just too much bike for me. I only get to ride for maybe 1-2 hours when I go out so didnt need the big battery etc. Plus this ones Purple!

    How much travel are you running with the coil mate? Bike looks 🔥

    • @BRINKUK

      Fork is at 150mm but the axle to crown height on the Ohlins fork is quite big so I might go 155mm

    • @Renroh
      @Renroh 5

      Ahh nice, I bought a Ohlins 36 for my HSL with stock travel of 150mm. Have not received it yet, was actually going to bump it up to 170mm. Maybe 160mm is more reasonable for the bike.

    • @BRINKUK

      @@Renroh 160 will work but like I say the ohlins fork is so big its worth considering 160mm or customising the fork to 155
