The deeper we dig into the story of David and Goliath it becomes more obvious that this really isn't an underdog story, but a story of who was the rightful King. Saul had every bit of skill and opportunity and the love of the people(at the time) that David did. But what set David apart from Saul is Saul only wanted to glorify himself and David lived to glorify God. Saul didn't have a heart for God or respect for God or trust in God, while David of course did. Thanks again for sharing these teachings.

So true. Thanks David for engaging with them so thoughtfully.

Interesting point that David was Sauls armor bearer …

Amen! Got so blessed. Crazy to think that I was going through doubts this past week in terms of my own career and just overall position in life. To taking in wisdom from this video and having a conviction to understand truly where I need to be. Where God wants me to be. Thank you Pastor Brad! Praise the Lord!

David was equipped with the spiritual armor of God. This story is also about weaknesses and strengths. Think about what giants are in our lives.

I personally believe that even though David was young I don't think he was smaller like the other men around him sense he told Saul he wasn't used to his armor, not that it didn't fit

Who was there to record those events?

Great question Jorge. According to the Talmud, Samuel (Samuel is one book in the Hebrew Bible) was written by the prophet Samuel up to the point of his death after which time the prophets Nathan and Gad pick up the writing. There are others who believe Deuteronomy, Joshua, Judges, Samuel, and Kings were all written during the reign of King Josiah as part of his religious reforms to unite the nation and bring them back to faithfulness to God.
