The way to get that voluminous look is to tease, tease, tease(!) all the hair from the roots and then, instead of twisting it tightly, you more or less fold it over. You start with a twist at the neck but go away from the scalp a bit more as you go up and fold in the teased and fluffy hair in to create the volume. It is very tricky, especially to do on yourself! XP But this way you can also fold in the ends of your hair at the top if you don't want a visible coil. Begin at the ends and roll it until you get close enough to the scalp to fold it under into the twist. Really important to tease the hell out of it first and then smooth it and incorporate it into the rest of the (more narrow) twist. It's easier to roll and fold it in sections. That way you get the volume growing as you go up.
I would sooooo love to see hairstyles from Sira Quiroga in El Tiempo Entre Costuras (The Time In Between). All her pin up updos from the time she was in Morrocco was soooo beautiful!!! Like the one where she goes to the fancy dinner party with Marcus, or the one where she debuted as a seamstress. With all the costume changes and different hairstyles there are simply just too many to narrow down. Also a very beautiful take of history about the World War in Spain from a woman's point of view. Definitley something worth watching! ;)
