Let's give credit and acclaim to Steven Wilson who also went on to form Porcupine Tree with Richard Barbieri. Another exceptional band. Listen to that bass line. That's Mick Karn and nobody played the bass is well is he did except for Jaco. Two of the best bassist that ever lived, both gone.

i can't believe i'm only hearing this now - and i thought i was up on any and all music related to Japan (the band)!
absolutely stunning - and good to hear something new (for me) from Mick again - taken far too young.

3 years later this 'song' almost became Flame by (Tim) Bowness/ (Richard) Barbieri ! :)

Wow, people who haven't heard of Jansen and Barbieri! Check out Japan, David Sylvian, Mick Karn (deceased but great on bass), and David's broher Steve Jansen, who also worked with Richard Barbieri (Porcupine Tree). Really, combined with all of their cooperation with fellow Japanese musicians (YMO i.e. Ryuichi Sakamoto and Yukihiro Takahasi - they didn't really cooperate with Haruomi Hosono, alas), they are a really internationally accomplished lot!!!!

I discovered David Sylvian only 10 years ago and instantly became a big fan. I only discovered this project just now while reading a Sylvian biography. WOW!!
Beautiful stuff - and this video footage is a breathtaking accompaniment to the music!
NOw I must go listen to this whole album. :)

Check out the whole output of former Japan members. It's amazing! DS, Steve Jansen, Richard Barbieri and late Mick Karn in various configurations, both as the solo acts or working together or with different musicians have made incredible stuff.

I discovered Sylvian when JAPAN first came out. Now I am discovering all this tasty music that has been done afterwards. Amazing sonic voyage. Aloha.

I’ve also discovered David Sylvian with Japan. All the different configurations of Japan’s spinoffs are among the best music from that generation. They’re as inventive as the best prog bands there is and I’m a big prog fan. Just to tell you how much I appreciate them, every day I listen to music from at least one of these guys.
