    Nice to see Mick looking so relaxed and quietly pleased throughout the whole set. Looks like he was having a really nice night.

    Has the world ever seen a sexier bass player than Karn? That genuine relaxed and happy cool while pulling off such magnificent musicianship, like he's just having a stroll through the park I a sunny Sunday afternoon.
    He's so missed.

      Karn and Phil Lynott. Also: JBK blow monotonous solo ambient pretentious self-indulgent talent-wasted Sylvian clean out of his misguided muddied waters. Destructive narcissistic fucker should have stuck with and accomodated the rest of the gang - Japan would have been ever-evolving/leading edge superstar sophisticates for many additional years!!!

    • @forever3797
      @forever3797 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yep. He even looked sexy when he was looking cold and aloof onstage with Japan. Off the planet bass player.

    • @forever3797
      @forever3797 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@rebeccarosehirschfield7386 Quite possibly true. But then we would not have this brilliance. I do think Sylvian's 'Alchemy' and 'Gone to Earth' are masterpieces, but they are very collaborative with some severe musical royalty.

      Well, he has the real born name of 'Adonis' a youthful Greek god! Adonis translates as 'Lord' from the Greek.....he's certainly' Lord of the bass' I think we can all agree and the guy had so many other artistic talents. What a loss.....

    I'm sure there are bassists who would decry Mick's playing as 'amateur', just as there are 'pro' drummers who dismiss Jansen as having 'no technique'. I smile at all their posturing, because *this* is where the real musicianship is. Astonishing stuff from Barbieri too; so creative.

      NOBODY says that about these guys, or even a young Steven Wilson who admittedly isn't the most skillful player ,but fit in perfectly here

    • @brad42948
      @brad42948 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Lol, Gavin Harrison described Steve as 'having no chops, couldn't play fast to save his life, no technique, simple'. OK, i know he was in a roundabout way paying him a compliment about style and rhythmic design... but you get my drift; these are top musicians who are largely overlooked by mainstream 'masters'. Even Mick didn't get a lot of coverage whilst he was alive, sadly, though there are now many more sites crediting his abilities, as you might expect. @@6lillium

    • @Agaiola2002
      @Agaiola2002 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@brad42948 I get what you're trying to say. Some people equal good musicianship to technical perfection. But Steve Jansen isn't about masterful technique. His music is about creativity first and foremost and that's how he shines. He was never to be bound down by technique and this is exactly how he created his own, instantly recognizable style. And I know that's what Gavin Harrison meant as well, after all he cites Jansen as his inspiration. Mick Karn is similar to Steve in this aspect. Their creative output is unmatched
