  • Welcome to “The Science of Building Champions” podcast, in which I interview top-level fighters and coaches and dive into their stories to discover what makes them champions.
In the long overdue 2nd episode of the podcast….
Former two-times World champion and owner of L-Star Legacy Gym UK, Damien Trainor generously shares his hard-earned Muay Thai knowledge - from both competing at the highest level in the early 90’s and onwards, and as a world renowned coach in the present day.
We cover a lot in our chat together. Get a pen and paper at the ready, and be prepared to make some notes!
You can learn more about, and more from Damien at his gym website:

Great video thanks. Im 40 am im looking to improve my muay thai im trying to train as much as possible but am starting to realise i need to rest more as i feel fatigued regularly. How do i know when to push through the fatigue or rest? Also how often should i be doing strength training to supplement and should this be done completely separate or can i do it together. Thanks Don

@@heatrick Really enjoyed this. Would love to see Tyrone Herod, former champions from the Trojan Gym in Wolverhampton, like Kirk Walker. I'm sure theTrojans had lots of champions. But Damien appears to be the most humble of most all the great UK fighters.

    • @heatrick

Not at all! As long as you are fit and healthy, and you fight at an appropriate level, go for it!
