YES There is a part 2. Maybe the greatest sequel to a movie of all time. More action, more comedy, more adventure, more romance. And we get to see "BAD BAD LEROY BROWN"
It is one of the better sequels ever. Now the 3rd one was better bad. But the first two were phenomenon. The first one was one of the biggest movies of 1986 and was nominated for best screen play.
That part is how I got into watching I Love Lucy. I was channel surfing and I happen to hear the theme. And I stopped on that channel and watched an episode and i've been into that show ever since. It's good clean comedy that you just can't find anymore.
What happened next is they got married. Well the man who played Dundee, Paul Hogan, married the actress who played Sue Charleton, Linda Kozlowski, in 1990, two years after they made Crocodile Dundee II together. They would go on to make a third film, Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles, in 2001 but it didn't come near the success of the first two films. This film really put Australia on the map, in the UK anyway. After this film came out Australian soap operas (Neighbours and Home and Away) would soon hit our TV screens. Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan would be become megastars, and the rest is history.
Hogan and Kozlowski also made another film, "Almost an Angel." Hogan plays a crook who, due to a convoluted misunderstanding, thinks that he died and was sent back to Earth as an angel to help people in trouble.
The Paul Hogan Show was shown in the UK before the films though it wasn't a huge success. Other Australian imports to the UK before Croc Dundee were The Sullivans, Barry Humphries and Clive James, who had a very popular show on Sunday evenings in the 80s. And of course, Australia had always been on the map in the Uk in regards to sport, especially cricket and rugby.
I saw this in the theater when it came out, and the whole theater burst into cheers and applause at the ending, probably the greatest final scene in a romantic comedy. This was very popular the year it came out, and I still like it a lot. It unavoidably reminds me of “Tarzan’s New York Adventure” (1942), the best of Weismuller’s later Tarzan movies. Paul Hogan became known in the U.S. for a very popular series of commercials he did for the Australia Tourism Board. He presented the same sort of character, a super-friendly regular guy who invited you to visit him in Australia. He capitalized on that popularity to make this movie. Unfortunately, you may notice that he was getting a bit old for his co-star, and after the two sequels, he didn’t do much else that was notable, probably because he had aged out of leading man role.
Good on ya girls for havin’ a Captain Cook at Dundee. It’s probably the best movie around for having a gander at outback life Down Under and seeing what a Dinki di Aussie man is like (or used to be). He’s as rare as rocking horse shit now. To a lot of us True Blue Aussies, Hoges’ blood is worth bottling. Give Dundee 2 a lash too, it’s worth taking a squiz at. Cheers from Down Under ladies.👍🇦🇺
That scene with the croc was a nice bit of balance. Sue is clearly an intelligent and competent woman and no one faults that. But she let the "I can do it all myself" mindset get into her head and it nearly got her killed. From there, she eases off on that and finds balance. The lesson is this: nature doesn't give a damn what you think of yourself, it's only what you can actually do that matters and we each have our own strengths and weaknesses. It's in how we complement each other that we thrive. Sue is much more savvy in social situations though Mick has his own charm. She's far from helpless but she's not up to striking off on her own in the wilderness. It is not a failing to lean on another who is better than you in a given situation. Humans work best when we assume roles we are good at and support those who are better than us at other roles.
This movie was a big cultural phenomenon in the US when it was released. It was a big hit. I had a big crush on Linda Kozlowski that year. You should watch the sequel too. Not quite as good as this one, but worth a watch. There was also a third movie, filmed many years later. I don't think it did well- I only found out about it last year.
@@rxtsec1 it was a lighthearted fun movie. It was a trip back in time. To me part 2 is good but just kind of felt a bit overdone. Different tastes for different people I guess
@@izbo10 hey that's your opinion. I'm just telling you I strongly disagree. I love the first 2 movies but hate part 3. Also if I were to be honest I think your in the minority with that opinion. That said I like stuff some people hate like the Star wars sequels. So I understand
Thirty years later, CD remains one of my favorite childhood movies. Every time I rewatch it, its wholesomeness just hits me harder and harder. It may be my favorite feel-good movie. That ending. So silly and yet so endearing.
A few fun facts; 1. I think you noted that Mick and Wally's tourism company was called "Never Never Tours." Well, "never never" is an Aussie slang term for any large expanse of outback. For example, you might say something along the lines of, "I'm heading out into the never never on a camping trip next weekend." 2. The big finale where Mick walks on everyone's heads was inspired by the way Australian sheep dogs run across the backs of sheep when they're bunched together in their holding pens. 3. Kangaroos can't actually shoot a rifle..... that we know of..... 😆
This was my first time coming across your channel reacting to a movie I love and grew up watching with my dad. I truly enjoyed your reactions and being genuine and having logical thoughts on things. In a day and age where so many are fake and put on fake reactions for views. It's just nice to see something different 🙌
Yoooo! I’m so glad you guys reacted to this! I love this movie so much and you two should definitely watch the other two films, please! The sequel is just as good as the first one, and the third isn’t as good but it’s still a lot fun. I’m also really glad you liked it, I knew you would, since I’ve never met a person that didn’t love it lol
These movies are really good. The third one is entertaining cause he’s in Los Angeles with his family. Paul Hogan thought he was making a comedy for Australia. He didn’t think it would be big internationally. In 2018 Chris Hemsworth and Danny McBride did a tourism ad for Australia with Danny being Dundee’s son and Hemsworth being Wally Jr. Then in 2020 Paul Hogan did a movie called “The Very Excellent Mr Dundee” where he’s reluctant to get back in the limelight but he winds up having to fix his reputation for an award he’s getting. So he’s playing himself playing Dundee. 9:49 that gator is still alive and lives in the Crocosaurus Cove Wildlife Park in Darwin. When Mick gives Sue a hug after the croc attack it’s actually a smart thing to do cause when someone goes into shock they have a sudden drop in blood flow and can get hypothermia so hugging the person helps get the blood flowing. 15:54 what’s she supposed to do demonstrate how to use it for him 😁 16:22 Paul Hogan actually did that in New York. He did say g’day to everyone. 17:24 something tells me the only that Richard doesn’t really want him there except to make fun of him. 18:44 I think it was the moment and she got caught up being out in the wild with him and the adrenaline from saving her life. 24:58 one of the most quoted (& misquoted) phrases in movie history.
Loved your reaction... Croc Dundee is a classic... can’t wait for you to react to Croc Dundee 2 .. he takes her back to the Aussie bush/outback.... it’s a classic. Good Faff! Thanks ladies x
Paul and Linda got married in real life after making this film, and stayed together 24 years or so. He was being evasive saying Barramundi was a bloody big fish - they're comparable to Snook in The Gulf of Mexico and Central America - mighty tasty, too. The population of NY City has more than doubled since this was filmed! The sequel is well worth it, and maybe even better.
"I don't know what she was doing in croc infested waters". Sue before then was being the Girl Boss "I can do anything a man can do". Mick was compassionate enough to shadow her and save her ass once Nature asserted itself and proved she isn't as badass as she thinks she is. She took that lesson to heart and grew as a person and wasn't afraid to let Mick do his thing and not be offended by him taking over. If this was filmed today, she would not only fight out of that ambush, but save Mick from the croc despite her never once being subjected to that level of danger and be praised for it. That's why modern movies are becoming such flops.
Thanks for doing this one. When I was in the US Navy my battlegroup visited Sydney. In the nightclubs the women would be dancing with each other, and the men would be in the back drinking each other the table. Nice. 😁😈 Fish in a barrel. The second one is good, but I liked this one better. That said, without a spoiler, kudos to the guy that plays the heavy.
Mick Dundee is your basic and unassuming man. He's open to learning new things, but is also mostly set in his ways. He gets shit done but also has his own charming take on things with no fucks given and no malice.

While i loved the Crocodile Dundee movies, i always thought they lost a chance without doing one of the movies where part of the movie at least was in Florida or around Gators and or American Crocodiles.
She didn't really cheat on her boyfriend, she and Mick had a moment of attraction and that was all - after the kiss they go to NY and she recalls she loves her boyfriend. But their attraction keeps building up. Meanwhile she thinks she loves Richard but then realizes she loves Dundee.
Crocodile Dundee 2 is almost as good as part 1 & definitely worth watching.
When you asked "I's he walking on people?", that scene is a play on how sheepdogs in Australia run over the sheep's backs in the yards and sheds.
Interesting stuff

They became a couple in real life and were married for many years.
They got married in 1990 and spilt up in 2014. They also had one son together.
Yeah - he dumped his wife of 30 years for the actress. Nice.
Right. Getting to know actors off the screen is a mistake. There aren't many with a moral compass.
Actually they just lost their love for one another I hope they still at least remain friends
