Out of all the guitarists Coverdale has had throughout the history of Whitesnake, Doug Aldrich came the closest to Sykes as far as the solo is concerned
These guys are not interested in copying anyone! They want to be their own person and player. You don't think Beach could copy Sykes, if that is what he wanted to do?
Effortlessly walks through an unspeakably difficult solo. I haven't seen anything like that since Vai took over lead for Malmsteen in Alcatrazz. To my embarrassment, I've never even heard of Doug Aldrich.
Check out LION - 'Dangerous Attraction' from 1987 which recently got a CD re-issue on Rock Candy. That was Doug's first major label release and he RIPS on it!
This Great Song was created by Coverdale, Moody, Marsden, Murray, Paice and Lord in far 1982. Saint&Sinners, in my opinion, was the greatest album from those guys which unfortunately they wasn`t able to pomote together. As a part of the show, i can understand what the guys from the band are doing on stage and what is the point about that circus and acrobatic tricks. In my opinion, this kind of performance (rhytm, harmony, meaning of the words, notes) loses in all positions VS original.
I’ve watched videos of Sykes play it back then I’ve seen vids of Vai , Vandenburg , Beach n even videos of John playing it now and Aldrich gets the closest to Sykes’s playing . Mind you some people only like the Marsden n Moody version and claim the 87 versions hair metal bullshit , horses for courses eh .
Damnnn Doug nailed that solo big time
Love EVH too. Mr. E VH!
One of the coolest Whitesnake song 🎵 ever!!
Doug took a well deserved rock star pose on that lead didn’t he!?
People talk smack about Coverdale, but he is THE fearless front man of hard rock!
The sun is shinning, but it's RAINING IN MY HEART!!!
Doug Aldrich friggin' rocks!! The only Whitesnake guitarist that let's me forget about John Sykes! for about 5 seconds anyway!
His work with Dio was f'ing Amazing! He just kills it where ever he lands.
Out of all their Great songs, this is my favorite! Long live ROCK N ROLL!!
LONG LIVE ROCK'N'ROLL 🤘💀🤘
Man that's good music

Real 100% ❤
Steve Vai smoked them all. Saw Whitesnake with Sykes playing then saw them with Vai and all can say is ( what a difference )

Saw these guys with Judas Priest a while back. Hands down best concert I've been to.
I saw Sykes with Whitesnake with Murray and Powell...... Now that was the Perfect Lineup!!! Lightning in a Bottle!!!!!
Doug is a beast...and from right here in Raleigh NC...Cool
Tell him that! He is introduced as being from NYC!
I saw this lineup around this time at HOB Hollywood. It was killer.
This was a sweet band to see in the late 80s...
Magnificent
David Coverdale is a master voclities and Tommy on the drums dam 😮😮😮
Tommy Aldridge is awesome. Here endeth the lesson.
Tommy Tommy the dude is a real bad ass drummer he is playing fucking perfect in time dam this sounds so good
David sounds incredible.

Too bad Doug’s not there anymore
Too bad Coverdale can’t belt out this song like he once could too

good line up ..whitesnake .
Very constant playing perfect recording if this is real concert sound
Instruments always sound better in person to me. I love concerts lol
Agreed!!!!
No Joke 🤘💀🤘 !
Great
Best line up of snakes in my opinion
Definitely the best line up of the rejuvenated Whitesnake, 2003 onwards.
Really now, John Sykes should send a "congrats" postcard to mr Aldrich for this version !
Call them commercial - whatever. But, DC has been one of best vocals ever in hard rock and came up with some killer tunes. This one one of them.

Agnaldo Rayol on the Keys
Hello
David Copperfield´s Whiteprick
aldrich is the closest thing that coverdale will have to john sykes.

Don't think much of the song the course could be much improved
You speak English
John Sykes was creative guitarist but he himself destroyed his career...
Sorry but Aldridge butchered that solo. That was awful. I saw TH-cam guitarists covered this solo way better.
Anyone can play in front of camera at home😂😂😂
BS
