@majed altoukhi...he certainly is/ they are.. I met them after the Edinburgh gig just gone/November 15th and I told Steve Rothery how great he is...he gave me his autograph 😁...chatted to H too 😁...was a pleasure to meet them and chat as people.. not just as rock stars... they're ordinary everyday people ...nice friendly guys 🙂💝 The guitar🎸 solo in this is sublime...makes me have chills n soothes my soul 😁😍🎸💝🎸
I was there for this (almost 12 years ago, my God!!) and it's hard to put into context how weird this felt. The entire weekend was basically a perfect set and giant lovefest between band and fans, so to have this, possibly the 'climax' of the Sunday night, go off the rails completely sucked the air out of the room, especially when H looked as flustered as he did. Once Rothery broke into his final solo you could feel the entire crowd slowly starting to go nuts, then H went crowdsurfing... I will never forget this performance as long as I live!!
Me neither. I was there. This Strange Engine is my favorite song in the world by anyone, and I'd seen Marillion four other times and they'd never played it. But this night, "Shortest setlist" meant I WOULD hear it finally. The ENTIRE weekend was perfect. Sunday night was perfect: Ocean Cloud, so many great performances of everything. FINALLY I was to hear my favorite song, and off the rails it went. I was devastated!
I am so proud that so many in today's soul-less music scene still love this kind of fantastic and melodic Music, this will never die, GO MARILLION, with Fish and with Steve, fantastic band.
You're great when your turn such negative energy in so much positive energy, like h does here!!! And, what a crowd, goosebumps!!! And when also write a new song about this event you're even more great!! WOW!!!!
@@mollybloom5681 The song Montreal by Marillion.
Looking at this video explein why Marillion's fans are deeply in " love" with the band! One unique feeling which makes this relation spiritual and magic🙏
Only got to see them once on the Seasons End tour . Only time they played Atlanta that I know. They played a small 600 or so seat theater. Man what a mindblow . We were about 10 rows from stage and they rocked the place. Always wanted to see them again but I guess they dont care to much for the states, cant say I blame them
I was at the Variety show. Steve R was Three feet from me. I was stage front. Also he gave me two picks. He was also walking around before the show and I got to shake his hand and talk to him for a few minutes.
Hogarth's lyrics reflect the feelings of so many men who find it difficult to articulate what they think. Thank you.
So many lyrics that feel so relatable but you can’t describe that relation! Marillion is purely amazing
The best band in the whole of the world
Steve rothery is an amazing brilliant guitarist ❤️ and Marillion is one awesome band 🎸👍😍

Captain Hogarth: "I believe I can fly". Seriously, what an incredible song of such amazing band. Long live Marillion.
ROTHERY is brilliant. Anything from him is a must listen. Was listening to Marillion in the late 80's and my friends thought I was nuts.
So much going wrong - and STILL pumping out a smashing rendition of the song! That's Marillion!
How to turn a technical shitshow - MIDI fucked, automation fucked - into one of the best performances of this song ever. Kudos, all five of you xx
These guys are nothing like the old Marillion. They’re completely different and they’re still so amazingly captivating.
This song is a fucking masterpiece.
Yes, it is.
Up there with arriving somewhere by PT. So emotive
One of their best songs and performances forever!! What a great band!!!
13:38 "H aint heavy, he's my brother..."
2:00 the "bridge" part is one of the most wonderful and moving music ever written by the band ... fantastic ...

@@PCmaatje Thank you
Belíssima gravação
Som e vídeos perfeitos, pegaram a comunhão com a platéia.
Fantástica produção!💥💥
That track went wrong so many times and is still the version I love the most
And lead to H writing Montreal
I love the way H looks up while crowdsurfing at 14:00 as if to say - "keep it rolling, boys, I'm a wee bit busy at the moment..."
What he actually said (he was up on our arms) was: “I have to go sing!”
Mágico, perfeição, bom gosto...isso é marillion. Minha vida.
Phenomenal! Greatest band in the world.
I believe that I have said the same thing countless times.
Best band in the whole of the world.
Hogarths voice ist sooo beautiful, classes better than Fish. And Rothery is one of the findest guitar Player.

Such a cool camera shot just before Rothary's guitar solo: 8:59
Puras fallas.
They are awesome! Just Great!
Next time, techie to the crowd to hand float around, all good!!
Wow, I was watching this, left the computer for a minute and I came back to Steve getting passed around the crowd. So weird!

I’ve seen them numerous times since 1989 and not seen that happen with the bat , shit happens 😂
Even though Hogarth went surfing, it's Steve Rothery we carry highest in our hands

Outstanding!
The tech guys were screwed after the gig.
doubt it. He was Hogarth's almost son-in-law.
I hope to see them in concert sometime soon!
