What a band! Lots of applause for every solo of Steve Rothery, but I would like to give some more attention for Pete Trewavas! A masterclass of bass playing here!
Beautiful song from an amazing and (somehow) underrated album. Always a live favourite with the sublime Rothers’ solo. H delivers every time with his vocal performance.
My 2nd fave from the 90’s era after afraid of sunlight. I surprised people or at least the world didn’t take to this amazing album 80 days, Man of a thousand faces, Estonia among their greatest songs what an amazing album showcasing one of their greatest epic movements This Strange Engine
I’ve only been on the planter for 17 years and I have officially good taste 😁 thx so nice to hear . I was speaking of them as songs but as albums yepperz peppers they’re right up there . I’ve made 3so many top Marillion songs/album lists and I just keep changing my mind I think there’s a song for every day of the week In my current Album ranking order( and I’ve ranked all of them) This Strange engines comes 8th and Afraid of Sunlight comes 3rd. In songs This strange engine comes 10th and afraid of Sunlight comes 3rd but that’s just my fave songs playlist I’ve just got too many on Spotify featuring Marillion
One of the most fantastic songs ever written. The ebb and flow of the music is simply incredible. So much emotion. It gives me goose bumps every time, 21 years and counting. Truly, a work of art and an example and testament to a wonder of progressive rock/music. Three more weeks to Marillion Weekend in Montreal. Can't wait! Thank you for all your touching and moving music, and one-of-a-kind connection with your fans and audience.
When former fans who stopped during the Fish era/or those who got their music from radio and so just found out (from me) the band still exists then ask me what they should listen to of the “new stuff” (of the past 3 decades) to see if they would like it this is the song I recommend. I tell them “play this song 8 times. If you’re not dying to hit play again for the 9th time” don’t bother. For me this song holds the essence of everything they’ve achieved with H and also reflects the core musical identity they brought forward from the Fish years as well: the beauty the passion, the power, and yes… the Prog… this song has some of all of it. Most who’ve taken me up on it have gotten hooked all over again. And lucky them… 30 years of awesome to catch up on. : ) Gun to my head if I’m only allowed one Marillion song on a desert island (cruelest fate I can imagine) then this would be my choice. It appeals to me in every mood and always leaves me higher and more full than I was when it started playing.
I saw them live for the first time during the TSE tour that year, they played This strange engine after a spectacular bass solo from Pete, I was completely blown away by that song and it’s in my opinion the best song they’ve ever written. Nothings comes close. Love you guys ❤
Woaw the sound!!! I love you since 1985 Fish area or H area (even if in the beginning the change was hard to accept, but no one else could become the new Marillion singer). Marillion You Are The King!
I hope Steve Rothery gets hazard money... He really had to duck for that flying Midi Cricket-bat 🤣 Awesome version of this title-track! Very glad & fortunate to watch it live @ Port Zélande!
Thanks for uploading this. As much as I recognize the common practice of introducing the members of the band at some point during a concert, and the common practice of thanking the audience for being there, most liver versions of TSE are marred by that interlude. The technical difficulties and h's voice failing him for a measure are heartwarming touches, features rather than flaws for anybody who has followed Marilion for a while.
Its taken me a bloody long time to be able to connect with this song.... and when it was first released, I definitely didnt get it.... Now I get it. Its only taken 25 years......
In my opinion the best guitar solo in history of prog rock. Masterpiece!
The keyboard wizardry by Mark on this track is outstanding and Steve R’s solo has me in tears every time..god I love this band
Steve Rothery is a breathtaking guitar player. OMG!!! 😍😍
After almost 40 years I'm still proud to say This is my favorite band.
Regards from Buenos Aires
Steve Hogarth the master prog rock voice
What a band! Lots of applause for every solo of Steve Rothery, but I would like to give some more attention for Pete Trewavas! A masterclass of bass playing here!
This is the best band in the World not all know about, I would pay for them to tour the US
11:22 nothing but pure magic 🙌
Beautiful!
H : “ On The Horizon “ - what a powerful, amazing vocal, gets me every time.
This version of On The Horizon is incredible and the precision is wonderful 😊
Me too mark!
!Marillion música perfecta!!! Hogarth un genio !!!
Mark Kelly is definitely up there with the keyboard greats…
…his playing and soundscapes are wonderful.
Anytime, anywhere you can take a beautiful vacation with Marillion. Just listen.
Beautiful song from an amazing and (somehow) underrated album.
Always a live favourite with the sublime Rothers’ solo.
H delivers every time with his vocal performance.
I never counted this song among my favorites, but as soon as I hear it, it makes me smile. Beautiful song and a fantastic album.
Actually I did not as well but i love the song my favourites are Estonia and Neverland fantastic songs
This extraordinary song has superpowers. It's the song of my heart from the band of my heart.

Fantastic Music. God save Marillion 🙏
What an incredible performance.
this song and this album in particular marked a stage in my life.
What an iconic title track!
Vocalmente, una de las canciones más difíciles de interpretar. Un solo de guitarra increíble, y un solo de teclado muy bien logrado.
I will always love this song, just for you dad, RIP big man
Sorry for your loss ❤
@@cinereus3601 it was in 1988
Strepitoso! Grandi i marillion. Capolavoro assoluto.

What a performance by H! Thank you for uploading this... 🤩
Love it ❤️
Siete fantastici tutti ❤
Assisti no Metropolitan em 97, no Rio, antes de lançarem por aqui, me surpreendeu muito. Excelente álbum, excelente canção!
This inconvenient, blind, blood-diamond. Friggin genius.
Have to laugh at Hogarth going mad at the dysfunctional cricket bat and throwing it at an unsuspecting Rothers.
Фантастично як завжди !🎉
Its taken me a bloody long time to be able to connect with this song.... and when it was first released, I definitely didnt get it....
Now I get it. Its only taken 25 years......
