This is exactly what I have been waiting for! After buying the Insta360 webcam a few months ago and seeing what a great product it is, I was going to use it with my laptop to create videos but I don't have to now! One of the main obstacles I faced trying to shoot videos of myself is the tracking. This unit tracks just like their webcam... perfectly. All the insta360 stuff is fantastic. It takes all the complexity out of getting great shots. Now any moron can make a decent video with no camera guy!!

@@JesseDriftwood it does not surpass it. Many many flaws not in a lot of videos. I'm in the middle of my video editing for it but I'd buy the DJI over this any day.

Magnets! We use them for everything in our container. But you could definitely get creative with mounting options

I watched this for the Insta360 review, but ended up loving the shots of you with your wife. Those moments were my favorite, even though the Insta360 seems cool.

My DJI OM5 gimbal has the same gesture recognition with auto follow and smart tracking with some cool video/photo features but this one kinda seems smoother. Maybe a little bit smoother.
The DJI gimbals seem to track pretty good! But the benefit of this one is that it can re-identify the tracked person/object infinitely, it wont shut off if it loses it, which all tracking is bound to do from time to time. And you can also select the thing to track, and position where you want it tracked in the frame, which is super helpful if you have particular compositions in mind.
Not sure if it’s worth the upgrade, but I’d go for this if I was buying new now.
@@JesseDriftwoodI was checking out the website and it tracks at all angles around a subject and you can open/use other apps and it'll keep tracking! That is what I want. Now I'm wanting to get the Flow. Guess it's time to upgrade.

Hi, I have a Huawei P20 Pro, do you know if this would work with this? I know it isn't on the compatibility list, but I know some phones not on their list still work. It seems if you want to use every feature, then an iphone is the only option, as android phones only have limited use of the features? Thanks

debating do I need extra light for content creation - did you try the light which was provided to you?
Can you access some of the features without connecting it to a phone? By that i mean what if i tape it to an action camera? Will the panning and tilting controls still work?. Also adding insta360 has the one r action camera. And the phone is connected through a magnetic attachment i really wish one day they would make a action camera magnetic attachment to connect the camera to the gimbal and create like its own ecosystem. That would be cool

Always like competition in this field so there is better features. TBH the iphone is so good now that these gimbals really make them very nice video cam

How about mounting it to the moza slypod? The autotracking would avoid some of the moza app issue headaches while using the moza gimbal!
That was my first idea too! I then placed that slypod onto a dolly and was trying to shoot hyper lapses but ran into some issues.
This is not just informative it's entertainingm.. 😊😊

Loved, Loved your video! The fun and energy you delivered was amazing. Just discovered you with this video. This gimbal is very interesting to me for a few reasons. I have gimbals, I've tried so many for my phone and they just never really do what I want. And now that main focus is my aviation and plane spotting channel I have made my own little rigs to help stabilize my movements when filming planes with my phone. I might buy this to try based on your video. I just hope, and pray that it will do what I need or to assist with other creative ideas I have for future videos. One is I hope maybe it can "object track" a plane and I also hope with my new Samsung S23 Ultra that I can use my 4k 60fps...and....all my cameras (.6x,1x,3,10x) with this gimbal. if you know the answers to any of these that would be awesome! And I am now subscribed 😁

It doesn't matter what I'm doing, I always stop to check your videos. And especially when I'm scripting mine, they give me that boost of excitement to create super cool videos. Then I feel like an imposter for a while because I can't quite make them as cool yet, but soon I survive it and get excited again, hahahaha Thanks for making these Jesseeeeeee

Can the tracking feature be used in your phone’s native camera vs their app?
I don’t think so sadly. I’ve been pushing them to implement LOG into their app which I’m hoping happens in the near future, but honestly have no idea!
Does the app allow for 4k video recording?

My studio is built inside of a shipping container in our warehouse @EvilEmpire. I can mourn most things to the ceilings just with magnets!
Insta360 is a great company and probably my favorite now for action cameras. This seems well done but, honestly the stabilization in their action cameras so good really don’t need a gimbal. I think gimbals in general just will be less and less needed or wanted in the future, so I’m curious as to what gap in the market this new product was meant to fill or what the long term expectations are for it commercially.
The guide tho that suggest shots is real nice!
That was my initial reaction too, and why I wasn’t terribly interested when they first told me about it. What I’ve found is that I’m more likely to use this and shoot on my phone than a 360 camera, just for editing simplicity. Most of the time I don’t need that extra 70% of the image when I’m filming. I’d guess the market of people interested in making their phone videos look better is a lot bigger than people interested in 360 cameras.
Also also! Physical stabilization and camera movement will always be preferable when it comes to motion blur and shutter speeds.

I've been looking around for reviews of Insta360 Flow and I really liked how you presented your review! If you don't mind me asking, after 10 months, do you still think it's a good item to buy? Did any of your thoughts change? Also saw the shot from 5:54 and it's so cool! Could you share how you did it? Does it automatically connect to metal?
Hahahah those emails are always so cringy to read 😅 I said yes to the hohem AI gimbal a couple years ago, really loved it, has it's own camera built into the gimbal itself so you can track for any app, primarily IG and TikTok live.
That unboxing was the best though dude 😂 also love the transparent shell exposing the PCB, very on trend bringing back the retro Gameboy vibes 🤙

Awesome! This may be exactly what I'm looking for. I am visually impaired and having a hard time with my shots on people complaining that my stuff is shaky. I shoot my own stuff I love social media. A major element of my content is that I'm visually impaired by really using that to show people that anyone can do anything they want. This looks like it'll step out my production game. I also appreciate that your wife is okay with sharing that she's visually impaired because I think that shows just how good this hippo Kenworth. This comment was readable I use voice input.

Yup! Cold shoe on the side of the gimbal for this very reason.
To me from the looks of it, what makes this Flow gimbal interesting is that it has taken all the best features a mobile gimbal offers from different brands up to 2022 and combined them to create this. Begs the question, has smartphone gimbal reached the peak??

What about gimbal resistance to falls, scratches etc. is it necessary to have special bag for this gimbal. of course, it is sponsored video 📹, but...
It’s honestly just too new to really know what durability is going to be like, and I don’t plan on doing any durability tests on mine since I’d rather use it than break it. Time will tell!
