It's a fun series. I decided to revisit it on a whim in 2019 and I got the urge to make some videos for TH-cam. Star Force DX coming out got me to try out the Star Force games again, too.

The good thing about the MMBN3 chips is that you're able to easily get them via just playing the virtual console version. You just go to the comms screen, let Mega Man save your game and they're in your pack.
I think all the BN games on VC give you the event exclusive chips, like bn2 gives you the elemental gospels and 4 gives you the zero chips havent tried with 5 and 6 yet
I remember the crossover with Boktai. I especially remember how when people translated exe 6 so the crossover in that game could be played and understood by english speaking players. They called the Count/Hakushaku, Hack Jack. Very nostalgic
It's missing some of the eReader & Beast Link Gate Chips in MMBN6, those being: - SyncTrgr (Gives you Full Synchro) - BN5 Dark Chips (costs BugFrags instead of Max HP to use) - x-Arm Chips (chips that mod your charge buster to another attack, like replacing it with a FireHit, Needle, Sound Wave, or Boomerang)
Bass in BN1 is probably my favorite Navi Chip. 200 Damage on everything with rapid fire machine gun noises go brrr. At least he’s more accessible instead of being locked behind an event. Granted, he’s easily buffed up with DoublePoint strats, +30 Atk, Navi +s for Air burst. Though, Hell’s Rolling is no slouch either. Man. Looking at Bass and GS Chips really gets me pumped for X Dive coming up very soon. Especially if I wanna main BassEXE, (both versions). Even the other BN cast, like Protoman and both Regular and Dark Megamans. Although, I’m waiting for them to put Colonel EXE in there.
There wasn't just event/region exclusive chips. There's also two exclusive Program Advances tied to these chips. BN2: Darkness: Bass V3 X + AntiNavi X + Gospel X. dmg 3000!!!. A two part attack where Gospel uses GospelBreath. Then Bass follows up with Earthbreak (Break/Piercing damage). This can kill the final boss in one hit. BN6: CrossOver. Django D + DjangoV2 D + DjangoV3 D. Dmg ???. Django and Mega Man team up to do damage with their weapons (GunDelSol/Megabuster). Then they finish the enemy off with a cross slash. Edit: When else will we talk about these from Operate Shooting Star? Double Hero 2: Fighter Sword B + KnightSword B + Hero Sword B + Rogue B. Dmg 450. MegaMan Star Force and Rogue attack several times. It's the same as 2x Hero, but there's an additional 50 dmg. And Rogue is an event chip in that game. Double Megaman: Barrier * + Fighter Sword S + Buster Sword S + MegamanSF S. Dmg 500. MegaMan.EXE, MegaManSF, and Omega-Xis attack several times.
I know I'm replying to a comment from 6 months ago, but I have to say, you picked the better version of BN3, it has the incredibly overpowered Folder Back chip, which lets you recall all your expended Battle Chips in that battle, and reshuffles them back into the pool of chips you can potentially get from opening the Custom menu in that battle. I do not know though, if Folder Back recycles itself as well, as I never owned a copy of 3 Blue. I was stuck with the inferior White version. Now that I think about it, I've always been one to buy the Battle Network games' inferior version. BN5 is the only Battle Network entry that I bought both versions, as well as the NDS version of the game that contains expanded versions of the two GBA versions of 5
@@zigazav1 Yes Folder Back Recycles ITSELF,So If You Set It As A Regular Chip With Hacking,It WILL ALWAYS REAPPEAR IN THE FIRST SLOT OF YOUR CUSTOM SCREEN!YOU WILL NEVER RUN OUT OF CHIPS!THE BEST GAME IN THE SERIES!
Thanks to The Rockman Exe Zone, I could've used almost every one of these secret chips, using their Wii U patches for the GBA Games, but I couldn't get Duo's chip in BN4, anyone with an working code?
You can just use emulation, download the file with all the e-reader cards in it, download e-reader emulation while you're at it and then just do it yourself.
Actually, there ARE working codes to get Duo and GPP. It's important to note, however, that not all the data is still in the vanilla, international versions of the game, nor the WiiU VC versions at all. The important stuff is, like attack animation, damage, and code. But custom screen icon, chip picture, name, and description are all blank.
Ahhhh ChaosLord...the great equalizer as me and friends used to call it back in the day. We all had one, we all were lazy so we all had it in our deck, and we all always found the dumbest strats to make using it worth our while. It's a fun Battle Chip to use though, which is probably the real reason we all used it as kids. Big fuck-off nukes are never not cool.
Until today, imo Bass Gospel will always be the coolest character among all the megaman series, bass grins cockily wearing his cloak, having gospel's head as a hand canon while both of their red eyes glow together is the best design ever.
You forgot about Burai/Rogue in Operation Shooting Star Also, the various PA’s that are attached to these chips, and the Battle Chip Gate chips (like Synchro Trigger in BN6)
