What is my vocation?

  • No matter what vocation we are called to live as an expression of God’s love in the world, everyone is called to holiness.
Many people are called to marriage, a beautiful vocation, open to life and rooted in fidelity and love of God. It is from within the context of the family that all vocations are nurtured and often revealed.
Still others are asked by God to be His witness through living a single life of dedicated service to friends and neighbors.
Some are called to the priesthood, bringing the Sacraments to the people and serving the Church in total devotion and obedience.
God calls others to the consecrated life as religious sisters and brothers. These humble and loyal servants serve the poor, the needy, the sick, and are a vital element of Catholic religious education and our schools.
How will you answer God’s call? What is your vocation?
Let us pray for one another, and let us help each other get to heaven.
Visit ArlingtonVocations.org and explore God’s call for your life. #ArlingtonVocations

I am Japanese Catholic, and my boyfriend is not Catholic.
I'm worried about getting married to him and my vocation.
These messages encouraged me a lot.
I will not decide in a hurry. I will pray to God more and more.
    Thank you so much.

I had a vocation to priesthood from childhood and it has never been recognized and supported because I kept away from politics and churchy cronyism.

Hi, Thanks for asking. And I thank anyone who has or is praying for me, and especially I thank God for ripping down an impossible wall! Because through His mercy and grace, I've written and illustrated five books so far. Praise the Lord! Though I am not getting rich from it, it sure has given me a sense of purpose to (hopefully) help and inspire others, and I pray that I'll be able to continue to do it for as long as I'm alive! But, if I could now find a good Catholic spouse and have a family, it would be a true miracle.
      Thanks again for asking.
Has God revealed your vocation to you yet? God bless. 😇

By the way, I have two accounts. I would combine both accounts into one but I am not very technically savvy. If you have any ideas on how to do that, please feel free to share the secrets with me. 😉

      Hi,
Thanks for asking. And I thank everyone who had been praying for me. 🙏
I especially thank God for Ripping an unpainted wall down for me! Because through his methylation and grace I've written and illustrated five books (soon to be six)! Praise be God for His mercy!
Though, I am not getting rich from these wonderful books, it has given me a sense of purpose and something to look forward to doing every day and I pray that they will all inspire other people to keep praying and trusting in God! 😊 Now, if only, God will send me a devout loving working Catholic husband. And bless us even further with our own children. Now that would be a true miracle... 🥰
Had God revealed your vocation to you yet? If not, I pray He soon will. 🙏
Thanks for asking. God bless you in your search.
(Ps. The cj account is mine too. I'd combine them but I'm not too computer savvy.) 😉

I am solitary person, I love God, I respect life and anything that is tradition and mystical things. I bet I will like or love the religious life no second thoughts. But I want a career and I want to accomplish it. I want to learn science and medicine. I want to keep exploration a lot of things. So, I don’t know what vocation is for me. There are times I feel sort of lonely but I get up sooner and go back to my usual self.

I heard that a true vocation is the religious life. And that it's a higher calling from God over being married.. I believe this is true. But I am neither married nor a religious..
The only hope I have now is St. Benedict Joseph labre who was a homeless begger and didn't become a religious and never married. Is that too be my path Lord? Please help me to accept it as I feel a dark weight on my soul and heart.

The Father and the Son are Parents of the Holy Spirit, if many churches are correct.Stay home to avoid coronavirus and flu. If many churches are correct, The Trinity is a Family-- two Parents and a Progeny, just like a human family.(Humans are created in the "image" and "likeness" of God according to Genesis 1:26) In the book of Job, which is part of the Bible, the Lord is compared to a father and also a mother with a womb "From whose womb comes the ice? Who gives birth to the frost from the heavens?"-Job 38:29. Because God can also be thought of like a mother (Isaiah 42:14, Isaiah 66:13, Matthew 23:37), all three roles (father, mother, progeny) in a basic human family are filled in the Trinity. Saying the Father and the Son are Parents of the Holy Spirit is simply another way of saying "the Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father and the Son" which has been official Catholic doctrine for centuries. The Church teaches that the Son is begotten from the Father. If this is true, the Father is the Father (Parent)of the Son. The Church teaches that the Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father and the Son. If this is true, the Father and the Son are the Parents of the Holy Spirit. According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church (second edition) paragraph 246, the Holy Spirit's "nature and subsistence" is "at once(simul) from the Father and the Son."If the Church considers Mary as mother(parent) of God even if Mary isn't the first source of Christ's humanity(God is the first source), then the Son can also be rightly called a Parent of God(the Holy Spirit). The scriptures are vague if the Holy Spirit is the 3rd or 2nd Person of the Trinity, whichever of these is true, the 1st and the 2nd may be the Parents of the 3rd. Stay home to avoid corona virus and flu.Parent definition: One that begets or brings forth offspring. Stay home to avoid corona virus and flu.
