Born ‘Brahmins’ are truly not Brahmins! ‘Become Brahmins’ are truly the Brahmins! They can come from any level of the ‘Varnas’!!

So true am born Brahmin yet that's not Brahman is all about your goal is Brahman when you rule over your senses and your senses never control you anymore to your discernment so your Vivek lies with truth or god the inner brahman the true connectedness to gods consciousness

Spiritually u don't call current Brahman a Brahman
But to deprive them of them avenues of education and jobs call them Brahmans and discriminate againsts them.
      That's being progressive & Liberal

I watch these videos of ‘western’ folks explaining Hinduism...and usually I find them having the usually short comings about Hinduism as they see it from a western/Abrahamic lens.
But this session is as close to being correct as possible(well nobody gets it 100% right anyways 😎 and I do have some differences in some aspects...but overall it’s in the right spirit )

Great vedio and even better presentation. Actually in India we never get to learn it in school or college. As a Hindu, I learnt many new things from this lecture. Kindly put more lecture on you tube

That's coz our Dharma is highly individualistic unlike those of 'Religions' run by scriptural Supremacy

pls ...he is wrong at so many places. And Indian colleges don't teach our scriptures as they are secularised or christianised and as bastions of leftist/communist ideology

Karma in accordance with Dharma is the goal. But Dharma is difficult to understand. For e.g Whats the Dharma of a Tiger when he is hungry? Can he say he will eat trees? No. Whats the Dharma of a Hunter who sees an opportunity in seizing a hungry Tiger feasting on its prey and oblivious of the hunter?

Vedanta in fact means the end of Vedas. That is what Upanishad is. That literally means leading life.

consciousness is Soul. Consciousness is The God. No other God exists.
The God is within you. Life is Celebration enjoy while it lasts. There are only duties i.e. Dharma in Hinduism , there are no obligations.

Bhim is the strongest Pandav brother physicaly, he kills Duryodhan. Arjun is strong in the sense that he is the best archer in the world, but he also has the Supreme God Vishnu himself helping him in the form of Krishna.

Magic is a perception of ignorance.
Entropy is what we know of a system.
Lack of entropy results in confabulation by philosophist, priests, psychologists, religious people.

The problem with all the teachings of Hindu scripture is usage of wrong parallels or frameworks or constructs. The teacher equates Atman to Soul which is horrendous as in western thought even animals don't have souls and the concept of soul is very elementary.

Please understand. You are watching the first few lectures of a class called Intro to World Religion given at Kent State, a publicly funded university. It is a class about belief, not what I believe or what they should believe. The euphemism we use in our definition of religion is the "Mysteries of Life." Sometimes I say the "Mystery Behind All that Is." Please note the magic trick which I use as a metaphor for "more going on than meets the eye." Students come from all religions and our public funding does not permit promotion of any specific religion. This class will be equally exploring five religions: Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, Christianity and Islam
Finally, the only reason these are on TH-cam is because the first two weeks of this semester has been delayed by the virus. We are now back in person so these videos will not be continuing for now. But thank you for your interest. I hope you enjoyed the presentation.
