I was born in 1993. Why is it so interesting for me to watch these videos!?! Also how does the TH-cam channel have commercials from the 70s and 80s? I didn't think people recorded commercials back then but it's cool I guess. It's interesting to see what commercials used to be like about 25 years before my life.
When you recorded on VHS (on a VCR) you would have to turn the TV to channel 4, then set the VCR to the channel you wanted to record, then you would wait for the TV show to come on and press "record"... it would record the entire show, including all of the commercials... unless you sat next to the VCR and would hit pause while the commercials were playing... but usually you would just hit record at the beginning of a show so that you could step away... sometimes you might forget to come back to hit "stop" after the show, so it would keep recording the show after it. That's why a lot of commercials were inadvertently recorded. Back then commercials were a drag to sit through, same as today, so people weren't sitting around hoping to record commercials. Yeah, media and culture in general was much more Christian and family-oriented.
