Ah. What a delicious surprise on am early March night even here in Papua. A new cantata from the Bach Foundation here on You tube.
What a wonderful start to the performance: Herr Lutz upbeat so clear and precise. I have to admit I had to watch it twice to believe what I saw. The singing of the soloists and choir in the sublime G minor arioso so crisp and delightful.
The oboe Obbligato enchanting, and the bass Abele in the recitative so expressive.
I liked the fact that the orchestra was kept to the minimum and made the whole performance a more personal form of worship, which is what it should be.
So from me an embrace to all at the JS Bach Foundation with lots of thanks for a very welcome surprise this evening.

If you are in Papua or in Leipzig or Mexico City, it doesn't matter. You belong to the one great community that loves Bach and his divine music.

    • @grahamnancledra7036

@@VernonVince I think it does matter where J S Bach's music is heard. There are many places on this planet where music is totally banned. Bach wrote music in praise of God and the Holy Trinity. It has endured from the 18th century to the 21st Century and will do, I believe, for eternity. So if the music of Bach is heard here in Papua, or Leipzig, or Mexico City, or in Jerusalem, or Mecca, (and I pray that it is heard in Mecca), Iran, Afghanistan, China, Africa, or at the North and South Poles and beyond this planet; to me it matters. How Bach wrote his music and the influence of his writing on others such as Mozart, Haydn, Schubert, and even for this Brit, Elgar and Vaughan-Williams when they wrote music is praise of God, matters, wherever in this universe, the creation of Almighty God, Bach's music is heard.
I dispute your feeling that it doesn't matter where the music is heard. The influence of Bach's compositions and writings will always matter, no matter where in the world it it heard and performed.
I realise that this is not the platform for arguments but for the enjoyment of what the very excellent NSB produce for us and to view and to enjoy and to Praise God for. So I'll not comment on any comeback you and others may have on my views but I felt that I must reply to your comments. :)

@@grahamnancledra7036 Of course, it is WONDERFUL that you enjoy Bach's music in Papua on the other side of the world - compared to Europe. I only wanted to make a positive comment (not critical): you belong to one great community, made of people, who love Bach's music, even if you are so far from Europe. I do hope, like you, that everybody will enjoy Bach's divine music, but we must be conscious that everybody has his own culture and musical tradition. Islamic or Jewish music is also very beautiful and deserve to be respected just like "our" Christian music.

I agree with Vincenzo's question. The answer given to him is not sufficient and disappointing..

    It has now been added."

    • @edmondmissa
      @edmondmissa ปีที่แล้ว

Where is that older gentleman, this piece seems to me to require a voice of aged experience and maturity. The younger voice just doesn't do it proper.
