I’ve never seen bandanas with a scrunchie, I love this idea. It’s a lot cleaner looking than ties & seems like it’ll fit snugly but not too tight. Thanks for the awesome tutorial!
People should keep negative comments to themselves I think your great first time looking at your video I think your a cheerful person and keep up your good work for our furry friends ❤🐕
We have a small business sewing dog bandanas and always wanted to try this design with the Scrunchie attached. Thank you for the tutorial! It was easy to follow and we are excited to create this type of dog bandana!
Thank you so much for the tute! I appreciate esp. the measrements I've already cut out one for each size for my three fur babies. Eciting to get a free pattern!
Thank you, it's lovely. Am new to sewing. Hope to make this my first project! Making for my dog kids, lol. Max my big goldendoodle, Nala my young 4 month Goldendoodle, and my Mia my small Yorkie!
Just found your channel. I watched the one about marketing and now this one. Love your format. See you really answer questions, like that. I am a crafter and sew some too. I sale at craft fairs, etc I believe I'll make a few of these and see how it goes. BTY I liked and subscribed. Will be watching more of your videos!! Thanks
Kathy, yay! I am so happy we found each other! :-) I would love to hear how it goes selling the doggie bandana scrunchies if you try them. I think it is super important that we encourage one another and also be transparent about the areas we struggle. Thanks for joining me and I hope to keep sharing with you too!
I sew for just whoever I want to, make baby stuff, pillows and want to teach the old timey quilting and maybe some other sewing if they want too. Working so I can get me a building to set up for sewing at least 3 to 4 sewing machines.
Okay so I got completely confused watching this. Would you be able to do a video where you show one size at a time and either stick with the regular or reversible as it was too hard to follow due to the changes for someone first trying to learn
Sorry for the confusion. I’m going to work on creating another video for these hopefully soon. This was early on and as with anything Practice makes us better.
I make for ME! even though I am selling or gifting items its always for me. I am valid and I count. Thanks for the tutorial n measurements I make my Roxy-girl all kinds of dresses (need to make more she outgrew them ...well width wise anyway, too many treats haha) and I have ideas on how to 'girl' these up lol. I just subscribed bc your video was real and wholesome.
This video is very well done and easy to follow. My daughter just got a mini dachshund puppy and I am excited to make some of these scrunchies for her. What size rectangle would you cut for a miniature dog?
Your video of the bandana cut off before showing the back of the finished product. I'd love to see what it looks like. I' having a hard time visualizing it if the elastic is only 2 inches shorter than the tube. Are those correct instructions?
Thank you for the instructions! Could you Pretty Please With Sugar On Top update the details with the approximate neck size measurements each of the bandana sizes will fit? I didn't know which size to make, so made a medium but it was actually way too large for the dog I made it for. Again, thank you!!
Amazon can be your best friend as far as some standard measurements for dog collar sizes. That is what I used, you could probably add an extra large and an extra small to these 3 if you wanted to. Great question! Thanks for watching.
I made a “small” bandana. 12x12 with the fabric piece for the elastic being 10x3 and my elastic cut to 8”. This was wayy too big for my size medium dog with a 16 in neck. The bandana part was the perfect length, the elastic part was way too long. Following the instructions my size small came out to fit a 19 in neck. Love the pattern, I will just have to fix up the sizing a bit!
First time watching your Channel, im definitely a beginner sewer, and im a bit confused over the video, I know you and everyone else might think im just being petty, but jumping all around i just didn't get it. I would of loved to see how you attached the back scrunchie, again petty, but when your learning how to do something, and you seem to be as meticulous as I am, I just want to get it right. Im a visual learner, cant read or understand a pattern at all. Lol.
Thanks for sharing and asking never hurts. This was one of my first videos and I was learning how to record a tutorial. I have plans this summer to redo this video so I hope you’ll join me for other tutorials.
So sorry, this was back when I was learning. I mostly do Live Sew A Longs now and I will add doing this one to the list for 2024 and hopefully it will go slower to be followed better.
Doing one item step by step would be more effective than trying to assembly sew different sizes. Also, tutorial would be better if you had everything cut & labeled ahead of time so the video ran more smoothly. Perhaps have a non-sewing friend review your video so they can feel you if the steps make sense.

Thank you. This is one of my first tutorials. I do this for fun! Not to impress anyone.
Thanks for the complete video and the size of all the parts🐶
Thank you so much for the detailed tutorials. I sew for Friends, Family and to sell
You're welcome. I hope I've gotten better over time. Happy Sewing.
My Bella. She luvs her stuffed toys. So i keep them stitched up for her. She has favorite outfits too.
I would be constantly stitching up toys 😂 Thanks for watching! 🐾
First time watching you!! I sew for family and friends. Love your puppy bandanas
Thanks!!

Yes please do! If you have questions let me know.
Did you find the sizing accurate? The ratio of elastic to to the tube looks like it wouldn't scrunch too much.
@@buddysmith7080 I will let you know when we try it. Thanks!

This was SO helpful! I was looking for measurements everywhere. This will be my first ever sewing pattern! Thank you (:
Oh that’s awesome!!! I hope you’ll join my Facebook group and share.
Thank you. I will be making some to give to a shelter for there adoption events.
That’s great! I plan to be updating my video this year so be sure to watch for few more versions.
Headbands and tote bags!❤
Thank you for sharing your pattern and ideas, I will also try it❤

that's great. we are working on getting a building up just for my sewing and dyeing fabric as well. I can't wait.
Love how you make bandanas . Can you make a new video showing how you make then Reversible just a little confused how to do it. 😢.
I have this on my list for this winter.

Awesome please share your “girled up” ones in my group. Glad to have you here 😼
Thank you for the video, can you share where you bought your tags please.
The woven tags I get from MoreMeKnow.com and the leather tags I get from Heartwood & Hide Co.
This video is very well done and easy to follow. My daughter just got a mini dachshund puppy and I am excited to make some of these scrunchies for her. What size rectangle would you cut for a miniature dog?
For miniatures I would gauge how small you want to go. I suggest play with sizing a few times before setting on your own. Thanks for watching.
If you are doing 2 different fabrics do you add 1/2 inch the 'top' edge to accommodate 1/4 inch seam allowance when you join the 2 prints?
Yes you can. It doesn’t make a huge difference but if you want it to be square yes it would be what you need to do.
Your video of the bandana cut off before showing the back of the finished product. I'd love to see what it looks like. I' having a hard time visualizing it if the elastic is only 2 inches shorter than the tube. Are those correct instructions?
Yes if you want to see the backs I have mine on my website www.thunderbirdhandcrafted.com/collections/dog-lovers-collection
Thank you for this video. What size square and scrunchie part would you do for XS and XL?
I would say to subtract an inch and see what you get. Usually 1 to 2 inches is how I adjust size.
I was wondering the same, the small was too big for my chihuahua 🙂
Reversable bandanas- do you have to cut a bit bigger for seam allowance at the top?
I would say yes.
❤❤❤ how did you attach the scrunchie part to the main fabric?
Once you have the Scrunchie portion complete, you slip it in the open holes on either side of the bandana and stitch closed over the elastic edges.
I don't see the part where you attach the elastic to the bandana ?
this is one of my first videos, my apologies. I hope to do another bandana video in the future where I can show more detail
@@thunderbirdfarmpaany chance you can demonstrate this yet? Thanks
I sew for my family
They are the best people or fur babies to sew for ❤️
When you cut them in half to make a Reversible banana how much did you fold down on the top?
Approximately an inch and a half.
Thank you for the instructions! Could you Pretty Please With Sugar On Top update the details with the approximate neck size measurements each of the bandana sizes will fit? I didn't know which size to make, so made a medium but it was actually way too large for the dog I made it for. Again, thank you!!
I’ll be updating measurements over the holidays. Thanks for the suggestion.
@@thunderbirdfarmpa thank you, and Merry Everything!
Pillowcases, curtains
Also with topstitch what is different ? Do you just not reverse stitch start and finish or what
I increase my thread length and pull thru the ends and tie off so it looks nice.
Knitting project bag.
Cool I made my daughter a project bag with the large Firefly Tote. It turned out great and she loves it.
Hi what width of elastic are you using please x
1/2” width
@@thunderbirdfarmpa thank you very much appreciated have a blessed day x
Great video , Wondering how do you determine what size bandanna you make for you dog ie :What size neck does a large fit? Thanks

If my dog has a 14” collar size/neck diameter, should I make a small or medium bandana? Thanks!
I made a “small” bandana. 12x12 with the fabric piece for the elastic being 10x3 and my elastic cut to 8”. This was wayy too big for my size medium dog with a 16 in neck. @@maciekerst1821 I'm pretty sure the measurements for the elastic and the tubing are way off. Much too large for all of the sizes.
What is the plastic measure rule called please
I’m not sure specifically what ruler you are thinking but I have a 24” x 6” and a 1”x 6”
@@thunderbirdfarmpa hi it’s the quilting ruler lol 😂 I went and googled it thanks for the reply x

Nice bandanas but you did not finish showing how to sew the band to the bandana. You went right to sewing corners on the bag
