You should definitely see the Sabaton History video of this song! It tells about many things she went through, including being thrown in a concentration camp for refusing to attend a banquet with her country's puppet officials and the German officials towards the start of WWII.

About 2 or 3 years ago I discovered Sabaton. I commented on one of their videos saying they exposed me to history I never knew about. To my surprise they replied to my comment saying History is their passion and will never stop singing about it.

Good reaction once again. I don't know why, but this is one of the 'lesser known' Sabaton tracks.... I don't know why, it's great!

    Great reaction my lady.
If you ever have the time try Sabaton's ' Night Witches' (Nachthexen). I don't believe you've done that one yet (but I could be wrong (I'm quite an expert in getting things wrong :)
It's another one of those stories that would make a brilliant and inspiring Hollywood movie (an original instead of remake no. 10.001 (so it will probably never happen :) ) A story about Incredibly brave girls and young women protecting their homeland against the nazis in outdated ancient planes.
Anyways, keep up the great job, much appreciated and cheers from the Low Countries.

First time viewer, Im currently going to school to become a history teacher so I can tell these stories. They need to be told. If you want another amazing story, Inmate 4859 is a great one. Its of a man who went into the concentration camp willingly to smuggle out information. Love the reaction!

Desde México me gustaría opinar un poco, tenemos mujeres de gran valor y fuerza, las adelitas en nuestra Revolución es una muestra y existe un dicho : por cada 1 mujer valiente hay 100 hombres pero esa mujer va a destacar entre todos.

Some of the references not known to many
Alley of the greats is the part of the Belgrades "new cemetery" ("new" being just the name) dedicated for people that had great influence in Serbian history is a final resting place of Milunka Savić
War to war is referring to three wars Milunka has served in, the first Balkan war, the second Balkan war and the WW1
Philanthropic heart, refers to her being more prone to capturing enemy soldiers than killing them
One fact that is not related to Milunka Savić but probably influenced her view on war and her conduct happened a few years before she was born. During the war between Serbia and Bulgaria in the late 19th century, more specifically in 1885, Serbia did the unprecedented thing never before recorded in history, Serbia stopped the war for one day in order to pass the humanitarian convoy of medical supplies over their territory going to their enemy, even adding medicine, blankets and beds from their own supplies to help the wounded

If you get a chance, and want to know just how hard women in the military can go, watch the animated video for Night Witches. As Joakim puts it, the song is about "Badass women in bomber planes."

Why can't Hollywood make movies about this real historic extraordinary woman or the Night Witches instead of made-up unbelievable Mary Sues?

Her brother received call up papers for War,. She chose to go in his place.
She was awarded the French Légion d’Honneur (Legion of Honour) twice, as well as the Russian Cross of St. George, the British medal of the Most Distinguished Order of St Michael, and the Serbian Miloš Obilić medal. She was the sole female recipient of the French Croix de Guerre 1914-1918 with the gold palm attribute for service in World War I.
She was eligible to receive a French Army pension , if she moved to France. She turned down the offer, choosing to live in Serbia.
