Great video! We live outside Michigan City, a half mile from the bog, and love to explore all that the dunes has to offer. You did a great job featuring restaurants, and we definitely love Leeds! You captured the beauty, and we appreciate that you highlighted the variety of activities here!! Thank you!
You're so lucky to live so close! We had such a great time during our visit. 😊 Thank you so much for the kind words, so glad we did the area justice! I don't think most people really how diverse Indiana Dunes really is. 😍
1500? You said 1500 species of orchids! That’s beyond incredible. I watched the whole video and love it but I am stuck on 1500 orchids! I certainly had no idea of that. Great video. When I take a grandchild or two here, we are doing that boat tour and the step ‘dare’ for sure!
You did a really nice job showcasing many of the activities in the park. We've just been touring the northern and western sides of Lake Michigan ourselves! And you're right, the water really does look like something from the Caribbean! 👍
What an absolutely beautiful video. I was very interested in the bogs. 60 feet deep…unbelievable. So many activities also. Thank you for this. Stay safe, and big hugs for the puppies ❤️❤️🇨🇦
The bog was SO cool to learn about! When we saw that log just bobbing in the water... that was fascinating. You're so welcome, hope you're doing great too!
We live in Michigan and went to Indiana Dunes last spring for the very first time. We also enjoyed our visit but your video showed us even more fun stuff to do down there so we'll definitely have to go back!
Another great video. Sure glad they were able to rescue that young boy. When I heard the flower sundew I flashed back to when I toured the Coast Guard cutter The Sundew. Neat tour. I also toured the Coast Guard cutter the Mesquite. Now that one was ninety feet underwater. What a contrast to the beauty you were in and looking at that hell hole Chicago. Ranger tours are so interesting because you get such good information. Thanks again for sharing your adventures with us!!! So well done and upbeat.
You drove past where I live to get to Pinhook Bog. I live about 3min from there. We've also done the 3dune challenge 3 times! We've done a Scavenger Hunt set up by Dig the Dunes...we won! Love living in MC and enjoying everything the indiana dunes offer!
So many interesting things to see! The sand dunes always capture everyone's interest, but that Bog is amazing - it's like Mother Nature's pickle jar! I'm planning on visiting all of Michigan, the UP and Drummond Island next Summer, and Indiana Dunes National Park sounds like a great place to start. Thanks for sharing & hope you're all doing well.
Finally! Another TH-cam video! I’ve missed you two and your always-😊smiling faces. What a FABULOUS park to explore! I love unusual and interesting places, so I just know I’d love to visit. You always find the yummiest places to eat too!…you can have your octopus 🤢🤢🤢, but just about anything else, I’d go for. Please, please, PLEASE so more, regular TH-cam videos again…I’m going through withdrawls! Love you both, Virginia
Great video! You covered all of the wonderful places in the park. The Diana Dare steps at West Beach definitely was incorrect on the sign when we were just there in Oct. It may just mean at the beginning! We loved that trail of steps too and preferred it to the sand.
Who Dey 🐅 Nice work on this video. Ive seen videos on Indiana Dunes but this is the first one that really showed all that the park has to offer. It has motivated me to want to visit sometime. Looking forward to Cuyahoga (but watch out for those Browns).
Anytime there are goats to be pet, I’m in! I got to pet some today, as well as sheep & a pig. Oh my aagghhh on those tree holes. Yeah, people need to simply go by the rules.
No info on the saw-whet owl migrations? We stayed at the state park there too one year and they open up the visitor center some nights at 10pm and play the saw-whet out hoot on a speaker to attract them and you can hold the owls. It’s one of the coolest things there. Maybe next time :)
We will have to check that out on our next visit! Thanks for the tip! 🙂 None of the rangers even mentioned this. I wonder if perhaps it was the wrong time of year? We were there in early July.

I've never heard of this national park! Very interesting that there are so many orchids!

We were at Indiana Dunes a couple weeks ago and went on the Century of Progress house tour- it is absolutely something to add to your bucket list!
We wanted to do this so badly, but the dates just didn't work out for us this year. So glad you got to do it! That's amazing!
The color of Lake Michigan took me by surprise too! It's was so gorgeous.
Right?! It's such a beautiful teal color!
Another great video. Thanks so much for sharing.

We're so glad our video helped you find new adventures! Michigan is beautiful and we definitely want to come back and explore more of the state!

Great video. We stayed in the State Park and loved exploring that area. The beach area provided some of the most beautiful sunsets.
So glad you guys are back . Excited to see you in Michigan someday soon.
Thanks, Mike! We've been in Iceland, the Canary Islands, and now we're on the road again. It's great to be back! 👍 - Howard
@@NewstateNomadsI hope there will be an Iceland video!!

Cuyahoga valley national park is my home park! I’m so excited to what you think of it!
What a unique place to have as a home park, Dominic! Can't wait to hear your thoughts on our next episode. 👍 - Howard
We were there a few months ago as part of our big ass road trip video series and really enjoyed it!
It will not disappoint. Fellow Ohioan here.

Ok, good to know that you all thought it was incorrect too. We were like what the heck? And Howard was definitely counting the entire time 😂
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it, Deb! Thanks for watching. 👍 - Howard
What a great park 👍🏼
I didn't know this was a national park. Another one to add to my list! Great video!
Yay! We love introducing you to new places!
Thanks for the video. We are plan on going next Spring!
You're going to love it! Hopefully our video gave you some fun ideas for your visit!

Were you able to do the 3 Dune Challenge?
We didn't have time to fit that in on this visit. Have you done it?!
@@NewstateNomads yes it was interesting! 3 steps forward and 2 back!
