@@cirrus820travelers9 Thank you! And that sounds like a wonderfully unique way to prepare a lobster. We may have to try that. @@charlesmooney7129 hey Charles! It's wonderful to hear from you. We had a wonderful stay, and enjoyed getting to know all of you a little bit. As we told you then, we will be back someday.
We enjoyed our time on PEI. We enjoyed visiting the Anne of Green Gables estate among other sites. We stayed at the KOA and enjoyed dinner at Victoria by the Sea. I just mentioned to Marie that we need to go back to PEI. The areas you are descibing are areas we didnt get to see. PS. I like that Canada allows you tubers to video tape free as long as you aren't promoting a product. Nice job.
Thank you! I know we'll be back to PEI someday, if for no other reason than to get to see the Summerside area and all the way out to the northwestern tip of the island. However, I'd also love to get back to Campbell's Cove. 🤷
An accurate representation of eastern P.E.I. I love the research you've done to describe our way of life. The "Wook-a-lark", I look for it everytime I drive through The Glen, and have so far failed in sighting it!!! Great video. Keep adventuring and enjoying. It was great to have met you.
@@dianabalto our pleasure, Diana! And when you do, please do give consideration to Campbell's Cove. They are absolutely wonderful, and such a stunning spot.
Neat Island! Nice panoramic shots of the lighthouse. Always thought the Canadian ferries were a little nicer than the American counterparts. I would think that these small campgrounds would book up in the summer months. Ram 👍🏼👍🏾
Most of them do, Ram, but Campbell's Cove is so far off the beaten path that it doesn't seem to. But that's why we picked it -- peace and solitude, instead of the rat race in areas of the island like Cavendish. For ferries, the Cape May-Lewes ferry across the Delaware Bay that we took this last Sunday beats any that we've before encountered. Beautiful terminals with a full bar/grill and free mini golf while you await your departure. Full-on jetways to get foot passengers directly to the upper deck without interacting with the loading cars. Adirondack chairs on the outside decks and aircraft seating on the inside. It was plush!
We felt exactly that way after only one week, Jo-Anne. It's a wonderful, wonderful campground. It's also the first campground ever where I actually bought a t-shirt, which should tell you something about how we felt about the place.
Great show, beautiful island. The wife and I rented a car for one day so years back and did the lighthouse tour along with Anne of Green Gables - hope to go back one day. Zoe looks good, give her head a rub for me. Be looking for you in NS next week.
Thank you for another wonderful video of some amazing places. The history and photograph is so good as always. More places to add to our list of must sees.
excellent once again Marc. I could not agree with you more, in that Cavendish is fun to see, but it is not really representative of the Island which offers simply so much more. We spent time last summer at Red Point Provincial Park which is not far from where you stayed, but I have taken careful note of where you were as it looked quite nice. Looking forward to your Cap Breton voyage next week. We love the Cabot Trail and everything the area has to offer, but I maintain that the drive around the Gaspe might be the more beautiful drive. Having said that I have done the Cabot Trail several times and will do it again. As always safe travels.....
@@ShawnPatterson402 I don't disagree with you. Honestly, I could have done everything I wanted to see on Cape Breton Island in two or three days. And definitely go see our new friends at Campbell's Cove. They are wonderful people, and deserve your business.
Linda, in our case it made far more sense to do the opposite as we were coming from Kouchibouguac and heading afterwards to Cape Breton. Taking the ferry to the island, and leaving via the bridge would've added hours of driving in both directions and also added substantial diesel costs @$7/gallon while towing, which were more than offset by the higher toll for the ferry.
Thats has to be the highest toll ive heard of...At least the campsite was reasonable....Interesting place, lookin forward to next week...Stay safe, be well...
@@akgobears Thank you as always, my friend. The tolls are steep. We actually saved money by taking the ferry. It was around CAD $140 but we made up the difference in time and diesel.
If your planning a trip always take the ferry from Nova Scotia and leave from the bridge to see New Brunswick and yes even us islanders have to pay to get off the island. The government won’t even help when we have appointments to see a doctor in Nova Scotia or New Brunswick.

Thank you! You'll love it. IIRC the ferry was ~ CAD $140 for our truck and trailer. Between the time saved and the diesel cost saved by going around via the bridge (which would've been CAD $67.50), it was worth it to us.
Thanks Marc... I never got to visit PEI while in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia back in 1998. So this was interesting for me to see. I didn't know about the very temperate climate year round. That's really attractive. Does the Campbell's Park stay open in the winter? I noticed there weren't any sunny days on the Island while you were there. Is that typical? Great adventure and lovely videography, as usual. Gord
Thanks, Gord. We had some wonderfully sunny days while we were there -- the thumbnail photo for this video was taken on one of them. But we had plenty of clouds on other days, too. Given the maritime environment I suspect that's not unusual. Campbell's Cove is seasonal, as seems to be the case with the vast majority of campgrounds up this way.
