Always surprised me with your own techniqes, twist and you own developed methods, I'am keeped updated from each video I watched from you, super well explained visually and verbally ,thanks for the wonderful help to all of us. I bet everyone will lern something of each one of your vedeos, Thank you John 👍
@@alexisacevedo8016 - thank you Alexis and I truly appreciate the kind words. I’m also glad you continue to find my videos valuable to your rod build adventures. Thank you again for watching and commenting. 🙏
Good video. Nice and slow and easy to follow. Most of the guys who do these videos are in a hurry and fast forward through steps and it gets confusing. You stay with it and I appreciate that. I’m learning to do these for my own fishing rods. I’m not planning on doing this for money. And I think it’s cool as hell having my own fishing rods. Thanks again for sharing your skill.
Thank you very much Evalina, and I am glad that you find my videos very useful. Thank you again for watching, and please let me know if you have any questions.
Hi John, First time viewer. First time i've seen this demonstrated. I've only been building for a few months & based my ethics from Bill Falconer. I'll certainly give this style of wrapping a go. Thanks for the tuition. Steve, Australia I'll go watch how it's tied off. Cheers
Wow John that's not what I expected it to turn out to be. Sorry I couldn't catch the live stream tied up with family stuff today hope you guys had a really good memorial Day thanks man good work
Colton, thank you for watching and for commenting as well. Definitely have the intent of doing a video on those wraps in the future, so please stay tuned. Thanks again for the support.
When you get a chance can you please do the spade wrap? It looks kind of like the ace of spades on a deck of cards. The wrap has one big spade every 4 cm. I can't find a video anywhere on TH-cam for it.
Thank you very much Joseph, and I am glad you enjoy the videos. As for resources, Rod Maker magazine is a good publication and there are others out there as well. I also have a fully downloadable eBook on guide wraps and threads if you interested in learning a bit more on those. Here is the link to the eBook. reelbluecustomrods.com/product/guide-wraps-ebook/
Thank you im very interested in learning all I can its been a life time dream of mine as weird as that might sound. I feel I have the time and patience to start building just for friends and my self but who knows what it could lead to. I will definitely check out the book. Now what is a ebook exactly is that a book that is read to you? I will figure it out thanks again and I will continue to go through your videos and pick up anything I can from them.
@@josephwilamoski4309 - I’m here to help if you have any questions along the way Joseph, and as for the eBook, it is a downloadable eight page document. Once you download it you can print it out or just keep it on your computer.
Is there any chance you could do a simple break down of the rose wrap? Similar to how you did the fish wrap. I have been banging my head against the wall trying to figure it out.
Fantastic videos, I've always enjoyed all the videos that I have seen. However I lost during the fast forward how the tails ended up with a saw blade effect. Could you expand on this effect. Thank you.
Yes the tails are a zigzag like effect. I’m a visual learner and having a hard time figuring how the tread is wrapped without covering more of the white.
Because thread cannot keep its color without preserver being added, and because there are people that like the look of regular nylon thread and color preserved threads.
@@reelbluecustomrods thank you, I jus wrap chevrons and diamonds, I stopped 11 years ago and now I started back at it again, I'll try that fish wrap, 👍🏼

No worries and glad you got the chance to watch it later. Was it better than you were expecting or worse?
Still haven't tried a fish wrap they look very intricate to me. Would like to see some pictures of that one after finish. If you have them. Thanks man

Have you ever done a st.John’s cross wrap, or a spider variation wrap. If so could you do a how to video for it? Love the videos

I know this video is 2 years old.. :P But do you have any pictures of the finish product looks like with the resin?
I do. I’ll post a picture now in my community tab for you. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Whats your spacing for the wrap?
Equal spacing Jay, and thank you for watching and commenting. 🙏
any dvd is available?
Unfortunately not. I do have something else in the works though, so please stay tuned.
Ok so I’m still quite new to building and I’m curious why wouldn’t they just make everything able to preserve it’s original color
Because thread cannot keep its color without preserver being added, and because there are people that like the look of regular nylon thread and color preserved threads.
