- In this episode we’ll be working on something rather cool: recreating a Dolly Zoom effect in both Final Cut Pro X and Motion, complete with examples!
A rundown of Motion 5's Speeds can be found here: help.apple.com/...

Excellent job at explaining. Easy in FCPx .. a little more scary in Motion (I'm learning it, it's still overwhelming!).. Subscribed!
NotaRubicon Productions Thank you very much! Motion is an acquired skill set, but most definitely one worth possessing. It's super powerful!
Great work! I have seen that affect but I don't know how to do it. Finally I found you!! Thank you so much
Best video on TH-cam about Zolly in software
GREAT! Thank you Sooo much. I need more Motion tutorials, as it is one area where I am out of my comfort zone at the moment.
Loved the exercise files - I walked right through it with you, never having used Motion before. Super-solid tutorial!
Jeremy DM Baldwin Thanks a lot! I've been shooting a ton of additional footage and getting clearances on things I've already shot in order to offer them in tutorials just like this one.
Thanks for this video!!!
Clear & concise tutorial, great work. Not a huge difference between FCPX result & Motion IMO. Just a suggestion/idea, I tried applying a speed ramp effect in FCPX (from slow to fast) on the finished zoom in FCP and it looked a lot more dramatic.
Thank you kindly! A speed ramp certainly would add a little something, maybe even Zack Snyder-esque to a dolly zoom. I'll have to give it a shot soon and see what I come up with. Thanks for the tip!
Great Video explained it so easily and perfectly thanks.....and the bonus with motion deserves 👍
Great video!
Excellent stuff!!
Excellent tutorial! Thank you!
Great video
nice little trick
How do you only have 500 ish subs??? You are great!!
Jamie Seviour Thanks!
Also called the vertigo film effect
great
awesome!
SerenityNow Thank you!
Great Video, thanks!! If you could launch more tutorials more often you would gain a lot of notoriety. It's getting hard to find good stuff with all the crap people are uploading these days. Cheers!
- ToddJones 2017 will be a big year for this channel. I took a little time off for the holidays + a bad cold for the past two weeks, but I'll be back in force next week with some great stuff. Thanks for watching!
